Dear Piano Guys, thank you for smiling when you play your music. I know that not every day as a professional musician is bliss, but I do know that you’re efforts have raised my spirits many times over the years. I teach music at Dixie State University and really enjoyed your video you filmed recently on our campus. Thanks for all you give.
I really agree with what you have just said. It's not easy being a professional musician. I am a pharmacist who makes music too and I know how difficult it can get to produce great music like this one. I am so glad The Piano Guys persisted through thick and thin after all these years. Look at them now. They are so successful. Their first work of music by them that I listened was the mashup of Love Story/Viva La Vida. Ever since then, I became their loyal fan. They inspired me to continue making great music despite it's not easy juggling between pharmacy and music. I am definitely looking forward for more music stuff from them.
EVERYONE: Go read the description, the story behind their location choices. It's beautiful ♡ My hero is my grandmother, "Wonderful Wanda." She earned that name because she never gave up on anyone. And when they gave up on themselves she pulled them from the corners they tried to hide in and she took them in. Everytime. Everyone. Over and over again. No matter what they did.
Four years ago we heard you live at the National Theatre in DC and were blown away! Such style, grace and absolute talent...your love of God and your telling of His life in your life was so refreshing and uplifting. Our father was to attend the concert with the 12 of us as a Christmas gift but daddy passed away that November. We gave the ticket to our nephew Nicholas, a music lover, too. Two years ago Nicholas took his life. Both of these beautiful people will live forever in our hearts! Your music, your radiating love of your music, your joy in sharing these gifts with the world touch our hearts and put a fire in our spirit. Thank you!
Someone who will impact me for the rest of my life is my grandfather. He passed earlier this week. I've been learning more about his life. He was the head of the family. He left a righteous legacy that I want to follow. Things were tough for him throughout his life. In the end, he couldn't speak or do anything for himself. But he never stopped being sweet and loving. I think that is a result of living a life full of gratitude and love. I never want to forget that.
I read the description... My great-grandma is my hero because she was really kind and even though all the hard things she went through she always thought of others first. She died 4 years ago, when I was nine, at the age of 94. I do not remember much about her because when I was old enough to remember stuff she was sick and could not do much. One of the only things I remember is that we would go to get house and get ice cream, even if it was winter and snowing outside. If she ran out of ice cream she would close the curtains so that people would not come hoping for ice cream. She was an amazing person and we have her favorite food, sloppy joes, every year on her birthday every year to honor her. I am proud to have her name. If you read this, thank you, now please go read the description if you have not already.
From studying to meditating, your music is always my go to. Seeing you perform at the Greek Theatre was an incredible experience I will never forget. A call & autographed CD would literally be a dream come true. Thanks for being there for your fans!
My great grandma (dad's side) went through a lot in her life too and was so kind to everyone. My mum is my hero for similar reasons, but I can still thank her every day.
They say a person's final death comes the last time someone says their name. Remember those who went before, and reach out (safely) to those you know now. My daughters are the most resilient people I know - as military kids, they had to be. And yet with other hiccups and hardships they have dealt with, they have still become two of the strongest adults I know. Thank you as always, Piano Guys. We have seen two of your concerts, and the second one came fairly shortly after my mother died and after Jon's daughter died - watching him still able to play and have joy, reminded me "It's Gonna Be Ok". Something inside began to heal that night. Your music heals, guys.
This season I’m thankful for the talents of all of the Piano Guys! Exceptional drone piloting! I admire my great great grandmother- she was half Cherokee Indian. She battled prejudices to raise her children in the Deep South. 🧡
As a nurse in Germany I live in lock down as many others, working as hard as I can like countless other people do. Sitting on my sofa at a dark grey December afternoon, I encountered your song and video - and got totally energized!! Thank you for your music!! And thank you for sharing it as an open source for those, who couldn´t encounter or be able to afford it otherwhise! I will buy one of your albums immediately!! Thanks and blessings to you all!!
Your music always brings happiness. And what a blessing for your children to have those stories of their ancestors. I admired my grandparents. I know my grandparents have endured some hardships in life. I hope I have inherited their resilience. My grandma passed away on Easter, and my grandpa a few years before her. My grandma wrote her autobiography for her grandchildren. She didn't have the love from her mother she would have wanted, but it made her determined to be a mom that showed her children (grandchildren & great-grandchildren) how much she loved them.
Is it just me or can anyone else hear Al's amazing vocals in the background? He is so talented and the group wouldn't be the same without him. Same goes to you Paul for your amazing recording skills that have made some of the best shots of Jon and Steve. Thanks to all 4 of you! This world is a much brighter place because of you! Virtual hugs from Southern Utah! ❤
Someone I admire is my grandmother. I never knew her (she died long before I was born), but she sounds awesome from what people tell me. I hear stories of how she helped people (not just my family) migrate to the US from the Philippines and about how she was a godly person who used to wake up every morning and pray first thing. My mom would tell me how her mom would always tell her to work hard so she wouldn’t have a hard life in the Philippines and to always trust God and do her best for God’s glory. My mom worked hard and moved to the US and became a clinical director at her workplace. Today, my mom gives me the same advice that her mom gave her so many years ago. “Anak (my child), work hard, help people, trust God, and do your best for God’s glory and God will do the rest.” Even though I never personally knew my grandmother, I know that one day I will finally meet her in Heaven and thank her for being a positive influence and role model she’s been for the people around her, especially for my mom. P.S. - I saw a mini clip of this video on Instagram but seeing the whole thing, reading the description, and writing about my grandma made me cry. You guys are awesome! I heard about you guys about 6 years ago from my piano teacher (who’s also a huge fan). I’ve loved your guys’ music ever since. Keep doing what you do! You inspire people every day :)
An elementary school music teacher introduced me to The Piano Guys when I was assigned to assist an autistic child in one of the classes. I also substitute teach, and it's great to know I can go to The Piano Guys videos when students do independent math work (because listening to classical music improves math performance). It's also great for independent free choice reading time (because the fanciful imagery inspires students to use their imaginations, a crucial part of reading skills). Best of all, it's kid friendly and safe for all ages. Thank you for making the world a better place.
This makes me think of one of my husband's ancestors. She grew up caring for a handicapped mother, and later married a divorced man (in days when people simply did not divorce) whose family had been through a lot of discord and unhappiness. This woman poured love down the line and healed that family ever after; family members were cherished, new generations welcomed. This feeling has been passed down from parent to child, mother-in-law to daughter-in-law, and wow, I feel so incredibly lucky to have been given this gift. It makes me want to consciously pass it down to others when the next generation comes around.
What I like best about these videos is the sheer joy you have sharing this music with us. It is evident in every note. I wanted to share a story about my Grandfather, born here only two months after my Great Grandparents arrived in this country through Ellis island. Grandpa only went to school through the 8th grade, he had to start to work at this point. But he keep going, and his son, my father did too, finishing high school, joing the Air Force and making a better life for himself. They both inspired me to go further as well, as I too joined the Air Force, and retired after 20 years, and I am now pursuing my PhD... none of this would have been possible without their start.
"And all those that have gone before cry out to us -- wanting to mean something to someone. To be someone to us. Someone to You" Thank you for using your talents and gifts to bring inspirational music and messages to the world! May we all use our unique gifts to lift, bless, and strengthen others!
Love this song, beautiful ❤️! My grandma, mom, aunt and sister have been meeting together every week doing family history for the last couple years. Covid has made it difficult that we can't meet as much or at all anymore which has been hard. One awesome discovery is that my grandmother found a tape of her mother before she died. We were able to digitalize it. It was a life sketch with a message to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more. What a connection it was too hear someone I never met but who loved me and had hope for me. Thank you for your talents and dedication. Music brings out so many emotions that help heal my soul.
Someone important to me in my family history... It may sound cliche, and it's not super far back but my first thought was my dad. My dad has told me so many stories and he has an amazing testimony. When he was 9 or 10 years old, living in a country side home in West Virginia, he was converted into the church. He, his brothers, grandparents and mom would travel 45 minutes every Sunday to receive the sacrament. In the winter, they drove through treacherous snow blizzards for nearly an hour, just to receive the sacrament. I got to visit his church 3 years ago and even though I was only 15, it brought so much spirit to me. When my dad turned 18, he served his mission in the Dakota's. When he got back from his mission, my dad decided to take a large leap of faith, and he moved to Utah. He attended BYU Provo, and then eventually he found himself in Logan going to USU. One day, he met my Mom... I like to believe that if it weren't for the missionaries that converted my dad, he never would have followed a new path. I love my home. I love my faith, my family, and everything that I have gone through to lead me to where I am today. I am grateful for my trials, because through my Dad's history I have been taught that only great things are to come in my future. Many hard things may happen, it will be hard, but I will grow stronger from it. Thank you, dad for teaching me this. This cover really touched my heart. I have looked up to the piano guys all my life. I remember being 8 years old and blasting their beautiful covers on my mp3 player. I remember being 10 and my sister walked down the isle on her wedding day to their cover of A Thousand Years. I've been to their concert, and I had the time of my life. You guys really love what you're doing, and I look up to you for your light. Thank you
You know, I could never really explain what it is that I find in all your songs that makes them all so amazing, so joyful, so full of life and emotion, and in all the shots you show alongside that music, but I think I can today. At 2:40 , there's this shot of the sun coming in, shining off the floor, and you guys just looking so joyful and elated to be playing, and I realized, it's even more apparent now that you guys are by yourselves, because the thing is, your not, all this time, for me it's never just been Jon and Steven playing music together, its Jon and his piano with Steve and his Cello, and I don't mean that in the literal sense, for me, it's like you guys have given your instruments a life of their own, a soul of their own, and whenever you guys are making music, its like you guys and your instruments are feeling the exact same way. For all the sounds you guys don't know how to make with your voices, your instruments guide you along, helping you to bring the music out of them and into the world with how well you know each other, and for all the expressions that they don't know how to make, you show them how to do it in your eyes and your smiles, and they bring that to the music they have inside of them. I don't know if this is how you guys feel, but I just wanted to share with you what your playing means, what it shows to me, thank you guys, for just being someone like you, awesome in all the ways
I can not thank you four Piano Guys enough for being my all-time favorite music group! I am 16 years old, I am a proud member of my high school's marching band, and have been playing piano for close to 11 years now, so I always enjoy actively listening and playing along with every single song you guys have created so well in the past 10 years. It has helped me during this stressful time to listen to each and every new and old song you guys have created, and I have recently been playing lots of songs from some Piano Guys music books along with the incredible music videos! I just wanted to put out my gratitude to Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson, since you both always have smiles on your faces that has influenced my overall mood and emotion as I playing piano at home! Everyone involved with the Piano Guys in any way are so great at helping support the original four Piano guys, and I am just so lucky to be able to listen to so many of my favorite Piano Guys tunes every single day! I am overjoyed! THANKS PIANO GUYS!!!!
Love this and love the beautiful cello!! One of my ancestors is Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the only doctors who stayed behind to help during the Yellow Fever Epidemic in Philadelphia. His determination has driven me these last few months as I work in health care and seek to follow his example of caring for others during a healthcare crisis.
Beautiful, heart touching, and thought provoking 'story behind the video,' Thank you Piano Guys! It is in those times when we reflect on the trials, struggles, and hardships that our relatives/ancestors lived through and overcame, that we find the rich inheritance of love, strength, resilience, and perseverance bestowed upon us. I am thankful my grandparents shared with me many stories from their own life and also from the lives of other relatives, stories from the good times they lived through, and stories from the hard difficult times they faced. There is a truly a treasure of wisdom in all of our ancestors and I am thankful for having had the chance to learn some of my own family history from my grandparents. They were very special to me, and always will be deeply missed and loved and in recalling their lives and the life struggles they overcame, deeply admired in my heart forever. ❤️ Thank you Piano Guys for your uplifting music and also for sharing your hearts and wisdom too. Inspiring, and much needed in todays times! God bless always and always!❤️
As I watched this, I thought, "I hope whatever my son [and all my children] chooses to do, I hope he will do it with the love and passion with which these guys play their music." Thank you for sharing your passion! That same son used to study to your music in high school... and probably still does in college!
One of my sons introduced me to your wonderful music about 3 years ago, been a fan ever since. Thank you for all your dedication & fun times. I have almost all your music now...
My grandmother is my best friend, my idol, my hope for a better humanity. She was born in 1927 and wished to be a Nun! Her mother made her marry someone she had never met. Still, she did the best she could, she raised 3 awesome children, she built a house, a home. She lost everything in 1974 and moved thousand of kilometers away to start again, now a widow. Even today, she has a smile that makes all worries disappear! I miss her dearly ❤ because of Covid, I haven't seen her since March 😢
Five years ago, I had a saddle PE, which means massive clots in both lungs. Rt lung fully clotted and left %50 clotted. Most people don't survive this type of blood clot. I should have died, but did not. When I was released from the hospital a week later, I played your music 24/7 . It took me to a place where I could relax and forget about what I had just experienced . My soul was at peace and this helped me to recover well from the PE. Your music helps to remind me that life is precious. I love your music, it calms my soul. Thank you.
Thanks for such a joyful song, and the invitation to learn more about our family history. I've recently been learning about my great great great grandmother Marie Madeleine Justet, who was born at the base of the alps in Italy. Her family endured all sorts of trials due to their faith in God, and she left her hometown to settle in a tiny town in Southern Utah. Her legacy of faith strengthens mine. She is something to me!
I did a liturgical dance to “You Say” while my sister sang. My church is so special to me and this song reminds of my faith and my bond between my sister and I. Thank you for covering this song and all the others, they get me through the hard times and the good times.❤️
Great new video - thank you! My mom. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She taught me to play piano and read music, she arranged for me to take classical voice lessons, and eventually I earned a BA in vocal performance. At the age of 37 Mom went back to college to earn a Music/English/Theatre degree, and succeeded. At the age of 42 she was diagnosed with breast cancer which had already entered the bones throughout her body. At the same time, she went back to college *again* to earn a teacher’s credential. We even had a few music courses together at the University! She did receive her teaching credential and even while she was teaching, she was taking chemotherapy - this was back in the seventies when cancer treatments were even more brutal than they are now. At age 47 Mom passed away, and even though I had taken leave from college studies to help care for her, Mom and her example was the inspiration for me to go back to finish my degree and perform my first solo recital, only a year after she died. So thankful for her encouragement, example and love.
I cannot describe the smile this song brought to my face. It's been a rough couple months, and the Piano Guys have given me joy through it all! I have played the piano for years and just started cello lessons! My cello teacher and I have had the joy of starting to learn some of the piano guys cello/piano duets together. You guys are amazing and so talented! Thank you for putting out such good, inspiring music. I actually got to go to this museum when I was little, the video took me back. The filming was amazing, and the music was beautiful. Thank you guys!
"Something just like this" is what takes me "home". Of course I have "a million dreams" of what I would like to be, based on what my family is and what they have experienced, but God comes (through the "peponi" that the Piano Guys have given me), that you am "perfect" "just the way you are". And "I can't help falling in love" in everything my family has helped me see, with the gifts and talents that I have and that I am able to share. The "story of my life" has been lived through the ancestors who have lived before me. I see that and have been reminded of that through this video. So, I say thank you!!!!! Some say without music life would Bb, but I say, without PIANO GUYS, my life would Bb! Nothing stops you (not even a pandemic) from being your best selves! And that is always!!! Love you guys! I think this is the best video yet! Keep them coming, please!
When my daughter first heard your music a few years ago, she immediately felt uplifted and overjoyed. She now aspires to be a music teacher, and she continuously looks forward to hearing your new songs and vidoes; we all love your new video. We are sure that even the dinosaurs would have appreciated your music as much as we do. 🎶😀
My teenage son actually introduced me to you. He is in his 20's now. We both still love your music. Thanking you for sharing your talent with the world!
The way the smile when they play the instrument clearly show how happy they are by doing this and it is Amazing and warm like seeing someone doing something they like is uncommon during this time cuz most people are sad just seeing the reaction makes me feel warm
This week I learned that I am a direct descendent of ten people who sailed on the Mayflower. I am always amazed of the courage to leave everything you know because you know there is something better out there for you. I also loved the stories of my Grandpa who was born in 1920. The stories growing up during the Great Depression, trying several times to enlist during World War II, but being told he was too skinny (thanks to starving during the Great Depression), so he drank milkshakes every night until he weight just enough to enlist. The stories of his 96 years of life were always inspiring and incredible because of who he was, and the Greatest Generation he was a part of. I know this isn't in my ancestry, but another hero of mine is my five-year-old son. He was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, just after his third birthday. The incredibly difficult things he had to endure and work through, still amaze me today. He is my miracle boy and I have continued to learn that I can do hard things.
Beautiful! Someone I look up to in my family history is my great-grandpa Otto. He was born in Estonia and stowed away on a ship to come to America as a young man. Somehow he ended up in Chicago, where he met my great-grandma, who was Swedish. He fell upon hard times, I think before he met my great-grandma, and ended up at the Pacific Garden Mission, which is still in Chicago to this day, and that's where he got saved. Later in life, the mission wanted to do a series about him on their radio program Unshackled, but he declined. It's just a really cool story to me. 😊
Letra ♡ : I don't wanna die or fade away I just wanna be someone I just wanna be someone Dive and disappear without a trace I just wanna be someone Well, doesn't everyone? And if you feel the great dividing I wanna be the one you're guiding 'Cause I believe that you could lead the way I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh I wanna be somebody to someone, oh I never had nobody and no road home I wanna be somebody to someone And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall I really need somebody to call my own I wanna be somebody to someone Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you (someone to you) I don't even need to change the world (change, change the world) I'll make the moon shine just for your view I'll make the starlight circle the room (circle the room) And if you feel like night is falling I wanna be the one you're calling 'Cause I believe that you could lead the way I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh (somebody) I wanna be somebody to someone, oh I never had nobody and no road home (I don't have) I wanna be somebody to someone (somebody) And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall I really need somebody to call my own I wanna be somebody to someone Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you The kingdom come, the rise, the fall The setting sun above it all I just wanna be somebody to you I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh I wanna be somebody to someone, oh I never had nobody and no road home I wanna be somebody to someone And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall I really need somebody to call my own I wanna be somebody to someone Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you Someone to you
I loved this song. It's very bright and upbeat. Definitely sounding like resilience! My history is made up of many preachers, farmers, and sea captains. However, the person I admire most is my father's mother, my grandmother Mabel Flint McKay. She raised 2 boys by herself after her divorce from her husband and traveled the country in the 1930's with them to show them the country. She became a Kindergarten teacher in Florida where she raised the 2 boys. She taught me strength and how to be resilient against all odds. One of her favorite sayings to me was "to let it be like water on a duck's back"-- just let it go. I love her and miss her greatly. Thank you for the music that uplifts the soul!
My grandfather is really someone who I think overcame every issue he faced, and provided for his children who are all now successful. He went from sleeping on benches, looking for night jobs while working a day job, to giving back to his community at his older age, through charitable work and donations back to India or to temples. Truly someone I look up to.
My wife and I have been married for almost 7 years. We quizzed each other just before we got engaged, then about dream dates. I chose seeing Wicked, she chose the Piano Guys. We did our first concert in Dec. 2013, and have hardly missed a year since then. We have all of your albums. Love to listen and watch you!
The music of PianoGuys really makes me feel enthusiastic because they seem to play with real joy. Happiness flows not only from your faces but also your melodies! There are many other groups playing instruments, but you are the only group that make me smile, feeling happiness transferring through the music. I’ve been a big fan of yours since 10 years ago. Great thanks to your endless love towards music!
A HUGE thank you to The Piano Guys for the inspiration they have given to us in the past 10 years. My students have been studying TPG for the past month, we LOVED the Jungle Book video among many others and we are so thankful and inspired by your music and all the crazy places you put pianos. We want to know how many cellos Steven owns and if you would ever do a video by Niagra Falls, Canada. With so much love and admiration, All the way from Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada.
Been almost a year since i saw The Piano Guys christmas concert for the first time. First concert i ever went to, and i got to go with my wonderful father. This song recently has become a fast favorite of mine and now hearing a cover from the very people who helped make some of my warmest memories? I can’t begin to say how beautiful it is! ☺️ hopefully one day i can share this song with my sweetheart and make even more amazing memories.
You both have so much playing your music. You can hear it in the sound. It just makes you want to get up and dance. I strive to play with the joy and love both of you do. ❤️
Dang. I've been listening to this channel for most of my life, my family would put it on when I was younger. It's cool to see how far it's come! Love the new song. Also, it's so great to see people who are in the performing business still holding strong in our faith. It's inspiring to see fellow LDS performing.
Absolutely beautiful! It actually brought tears to my eyes for a couple of reasons, especially after reading Steven's story. I currently work in a museum that just had to close it's doors again to the public. I'm sitting at my desk in an empty Museum full of history. History I thought I would never had thought I was tied to because I didn't grow up here. But found out recently my great grandfather knew and worked with one of the men who helped build this town. My great grandfather was a pilot, one of the first to fly postal runs actually. But he lived in California, not Oregon. But he flew the planes this man from my area created. (There's a lot more to the story and it's the FIRST time I've ever been interested in doing family history) Thanks for the music, the inspiration and your love you express through your creations. Keep up the amazing work! Looking forward to more from The Piano Guys in the future! 😍
Thanks for yet again spreading the joy. We have a signed copy of the new album as of yesterday, and have played it already. We are long time patrons, and have been honored to support and cheer you on over the years. God bless you all - and thank you!
listen to this song make me close my eyes and imagine,i'm standing on the altar and see my bride walking in and we speak out loud our wedding vows in front of the world and above that all ,in front of God.:)thank you the piano guys....you make me feel like i can make that imaginitaion come true.
"You want to play INSIDE the exhibit?" "Um, yes?" "And you want to fly your drone right past our glass chandelier? "Yes...?" "Alright then, just checking."
I love this song, thank you, it surprises me that despite everything that is happening in the United States due to the covid, you make music, thank you very much I hope that one day you will read this greetings from Argentina
This year has been the hardest year of my life. I battled depression for a long time when everything I knew was taken due to the pandemic. I had a very sick mother who left for 9 months to a medical facility and I was never able to see or speak with her. But when I was in my lowest of lows I listened to you guys. Your music is my inspiration and really helped pull me out of dark helpless places. I love you guys so much and really wish you’d come to Vegas more often so I could see you more. @ThePianoGuys
OOOH, I love it! This'll be one of THOSE tunes that I'll have to watch my speed in the car! ;) lol And of course will get frequent "repeats." Aside from that, I just now read the story. I would have to say my "ancestral hero" is my Dad. He was 46 when he passed away and I was 28. Now I'm 54 and find it so strange to be almost a decade older than when he left us. But he was a man of quiet, solid faith, with a passion for football and gardening. He was gone too soon but I know I will see him again. Steven, your writing inspires! Thanks for sharing that story with us.
This sent shivers down my spine, I was a little sad but after hearing this my mood has completely changed. Thank you so much ThePianoGuys for bringing joy to my heart!
Who else really likes the glassy strumming in the back?! Really makes the percussion pop at moments like 0:46. I’ll be wondering how that sound was created for quite some time 💜
I went back and read the description...I think not enough could be said about our greatest generation. Both my husband and I have lost grandparents in the past 5+ years and they knew how to value life they knew dedication and sacrifice for something worth saving and preserving, Yet they wouldn't call it those things they would just call it life and that's what you're supposed to do. We truly do have heroes from the greatest generation! It's sad to say and ironic, that with the passing of my grandpa and my husband's grandpa they brought so much music and happiness to life, they knew how to gather a family together and with them gone now, sadly that has also died away with them. So thank you for bringing that back, my family truly enjoys your music and has lifted spirits and has gotten all of us through these trying times, and you probably are the inspiration to have my dad (in his early70's) take piano lessons for first time!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for your music..I am an ER nurse and with all of the COVID and new daily challenges ..your music is uplifting and I find myself humming your tunes..Again, many thanks for everything you do.
Every song every time gets me in all the feels! I have listening, following, watching and enjoying your beautiful heartfelt music from the beginning and after reading the story behind this one made me think of my own ancestors that traveled by handcart across the plains and their determination to reach a better life. Thank you guys again for making me cry! Your music is the best!❤️
My maternal grandpa masterminded his children's escape from Vietnam after the war, staying behind as a safety net in case they were caught and turned around (thankfully, that did not happen). My favourite story about him was his shrine to Ho Chi Minh: he bought a big bundle of incense, lit it all at once, and "accidentally" burned the photograph. Since he had so clearly tried to display his ardent devotion, he got off scot-free.
I listened to this for my music class and thought it was wonderful. Although it is kind of hard to write a paper on certain specific things I will always try my best on this. I had to write a 2-page report on this and I hope I do it well. My favorite part about this whole performance is how these guys get into the music. I feel like they are playing from the soul, and they enjoy what they are playing as they should. I am so happy I took this music class through Crowder College. My teacher was excellent at working with me especially since I had some personal things come up. I could not be more grateful to have such a wonderful teacher to help teach me about how in-depth our musical culture goes. I love this music and I hope it's just as relaxing for everyone else as it is for me.
This video hit close to my heart (and pacemaker). Aside from the gorgeous shot of the sun streaming in through the windows and the sweeping, Matrix-esque shot of the dinosaur skeletons at 1:12, it reminds me of my dad. He works at the Smithsonian as an entomologist, which is why this video's setting reminds me how lucky I am that the "who" in my past is actually still in my present, where I can appreciate him while he's still alive. He took me to the Galapagos right before the pandemic hit, and one of the greatest marvels there was witnessing that 70-year-old nerd spend two weeks hiking, snorkeling, and bearing long flights without throwing his back out once. He was also diagnosed with Asperger's late in life and told me how much of a relief it was to hear that diagnosis: "I've wondered my whole life why I can't be 'normal' like everyone else. Well, it turns out it's because I'm not!" He is my testimony to scientific curiosity, freedom of thought, and human resilience.
This has to be my favorite video! I absolutely love how much you used the drone footage! You said to comment on someone I admire in my family history. Well, seeing how we are all technically related, I’m going to pick someone from the Bible. I really admire Job. It always amazes me how EVERYTHING bad that could possibly happen happened to him. And yet, he still had the courage to stand up for his faith, and to refuse to curse God! Thank you guys for all you do!
Someone in my history whom I admire... Well, I definitely admire my great-grandfather, a man who after 40 years of preaching said that there wasn't a day that went by that he didn't learn something new from the Bible. Of course, there are others like a great uncle (not sure how many greats) for who the song "Captain Estill's Grand March" was written, or the much more famous people in my ancestry, like my 27th great grandfather, William the Conqueror. :)
I admire my grandmother. Although she passed last year, her pride and warmth never ceased to communicate a high respect across a multigenerational, linguistic, and geographical divide.
WOW! My initial reaction was, well, this is good. I don't recognize the original song at all. Then I went and listed to Banners. THANK YOU so much for pointing out an artist and hymn that I had somehow completely missed! On second, and third, etc. listens, this cover audibly and visually connects the visceral reaction I had to Banners' intense ballad to my ancestors. Rev. Johannes Theodore Polhemus was a refugee, abducted by pirates twice, and eventually settled in success on Long Island before it became New York. (10th Great-Grandfather ;)
I am giddy. Someone to you is my favourite song of all time. I listened to it one repeat for like 3 weeks when my now wife said yes to going on a date with me, and we have danced to it several times together, even playing it at our wedding. thank you so much for the awesome cover.
I am not smart enough to know the right words to say how much your music has done for me. All I can say is THANK YOU from a very grateful soul for your talent.
Me: about to attend my online class Piano guys uploads a video. Me: Nah.... Class can wait... I gotta watch this first😍😍 Awesome work as always Piano guys!!!! Love from India!!
To Whom it May Concern, Please excuse Renita from her online class. She was deeply engaged in a life-enriching pursuit of musical research. Thank you. Respectfully yours, Steven # Nelson
Your music brings peace and happiness to my soul. I bought my first Jon Schmidt album in 1994ish when at Ricks college and have loved the music you all have shared with the world in the passing years. Thanks for sharing your talents and helping life be beautiful with your gift of music. Cheers!!
The piano guys can always provide the world with something special and creative. You guy’s passion for great music has inspired me for years. Thank you for everything you have done for music 🙏
I loved watching this, particularly with the drone footage at the filming locations. Steven # - thank you for sharing your story about family history. I have long loved learning about my ancestors and owe who I am to them.
The two things that struck me the most about this video were the light and joy that are evident. I just watched President Nelson's message about the healing power of gratitude and it was the perfect segue to your newest video. Watching you play brought light and joy into my life too. It is evident you love music and sharing it with others. Thank you for brightening my day and life with your gifts.
Thank you all so much for your music that you make! I loved traveling the world with you as you played at the “Wonders.” There’s not a lot of music out there that can make me cry, but y’all’s music is so touching, so thoughtful, and amazing, that I can’t help but get emotional over it. Thank you so much! I would turn y’all on for hours as I traveled home from school on the holidays. My friends and I would jam out together as we made errands while listening to y’all. Your music has brought so much happiness to my life and I’m so thankful for y’all. Happy anniversary!!
Hey, will you marry me? Ooh wait, you already did! 😂🤣 I'm so blessed you said yes and that you've stuck with me -- and that you still watch TPG vids! 😁 All I've wanted in life is to be Someone to YOU. XOXOXOXOXO ❤️❤️❤️❤️ -#
I started watching this video with a bad mood, but I finished it with a smile. Great way to brighten up my day. Thanks for the notification! Btw. Incredible video shots!
I played with you guys at the Fox in St louis back in 2016 and to this day that remains the most incredible thing I have ever experienced. Thank you guys so much!
Libraries have always given me a sense of belonging, as if being surrounded by stories and history somehow made me a part of them. My Grandfather quarantined off Ellis Island in 1902. They could not leave the ship because so many were sick, dying, or had died. My history includes quarantine, hope, and taking advantage of opportunities given. I appreciate that you put so much thought into what you do, and how you portray your stories in both music and video. I have seen you in person twice, and laughed and cried both times. God Bless.
Your music brings such light and joy to a tumultuous time. There’s not a song that doesn’t bring peace to our hearts. My dad was the one who inspired me to love music as much as he did, and I got his guitar tattooed on my back as a reminder of all the music we’ve shared, his playing and our singing, and that he’s always got my back. I would be nothing if it weren’t for his love God bless you and thank you for what you do
Dear Piano Guys, thank you for smiling when you play your music.
Music is a wonderful gift to the heart and soul. 🤗❤️🕊️

EVERYONE: Go read the description, the story behind their location choices. It's beautiful ♡
My hero is my grandmother, "Wonderful Wanda." She earned that name because she never gave up on anyone. And when they gave up on themselves she pulled them from the corners they tried to hide in and she took them in. Everytime. Everyone. Over and over again. No matter what they did.
LOVE TO WONDERFUL WANDA! Thank you Michelle. SHE is who we wrote this song for.
I wish I had someone like that in my corner, she sounds amazing! ❤️
Where can I read the description?

Your Grandpa sounds like he was an incredible person. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss!
What can I say? I think he is at a better place with love and peace. I am sorry for your loss.
This is SO special, Amelia. Thank you for sharing. This is what this song is all about. Thanks for reading the story behind the song.
It's going to be ok. Blessings being sent your way!
This season I’m thankful for the talents of all of the Piano Guys! Exceptional drone piloting! I admire my great great grandmother- she was half Cherokee Indian. She battled prejudices to raise her children in the Deep South. 🧡
Awwww! Thank you, Elizabeth. We're grateful for YOU! Happy Thanksgiving!
Piano Guys is one of those channels you come back every now and then, but every time you come back, you can't help but smile. Brilliant!
Someone to You"
Thank you for using your talents and gifts to bring inspirational music and messages to the world!
Thank you
Never thought that just a piano and cello could do so much together, have loved you guys since I first watched "This Is your Fight Song"
Well stated. I think it’s the joy, and genuine enthusiasm - with their gratitude and thankfulness to God, their families, and their fans...
I really needed this today. I lost the person who taught me the most about the true meaning of music today. So this was really bittersweet for me
Hugs to you! Sorry for your loss!!
@@carmele.m.2212 thank you!
Thank you.
HEY YOU, MAY ALLAH KEEP SMILING UPON YOU!!!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, these guys LOVE what they do and it shows! It is FUN to watch them have FUN!!!
Anytime I’m having a bad day with my depression, I listen to TPG and it helps bring me out of my dark place. Thank you for being you ❤️

She now aspires to be a music teacher, and she continuously looks forward to hearing your new songs and vidoes; we all love your new video. We are sure that even the dinosaurs would have appreciated your music as much as we do.

I am also a descendant of a mayflower passenger, Mr. George Soule.
Letra ♡ :
I don't wanna die or fade away
I just wanna be someone
I just wanna be someone
Dive and disappear without a trace
I just wanna be someone
Well, doesn't everyone?
And if you feel the great dividing
I wanna be the one you're guiding
'Cause I believe that you could lead the way
I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home
I wanna be somebody to someone
And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you (someone to you)
I don't even need to change the world (change, change the world)
I'll make the moon shine just for your view
I'll make the starlight circle the room (circle the room)
And if you feel like night is falling
I wanna be the one you're calling
'Cause I believe that you could lead the way
I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh (somebody)
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home (I don't have)
I wanna be somebody to someone (somebody)
And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
The kingdom come, the rise, the fall
The setting sun above it all
I just wanna be somebody to you
I just wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I wanna be somebody to someone, oh
I never had nobody and no road home
I wanna be somebody to someone
And if the sun starts setting, the sky goes cold
Then if the clouds get heavy and start to fall
I really need somebody to call my own
I wanna be somebody to someone
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
Someone to you
I loved this song.
I LOVE THIS SONG. BANNERS AND THE PIANO GUYS TOGETHER?!?!??!?
SUCH a great tune, right? We loved it from the moment we heard it. Thanks Vivian!

@@thepianoguys omg you guys are the reason why I started playing cello
Me too, i had a *moment* when I saw the song name ❤️

Music is truly a gift of God… and this video is truly an example of how joyous that music can be!!🎶🎶🥰🤗
WOW! I'd never expected you guys to use an FPV drone, that was was incredible!!!
Soooo much talent.
My kids will love seeing the natural history museum in the video. We've spent many fun hours there as a family.
That’s crazy, I just started listening to BANNERS the other day and now y’all make a beautiful song of theirs!! Love it!
(There's a lot more to the story and it's the FIRST time I've ever been interested in doing family history)
Thanks for the music, the inspiration and your love you express through your creations. Keep up the amazing work! Looking forward to more from The Piano Guys in the future! 😍
My 4-yr-old said, "Mommy, that looks happy."
Then, a little bit later, "... They're friends?" about Jon and Steve. ☺️
"You want to play INSIDE the exhibit?"
"Um, yes?"
"And you want to fly your drone right past our glass chandelier?
"Yes...?"
"Alright then, just checking."
💖
😂😂
I thought the exact same thing! The Drone that went past the glass chandelier, good work camera guys!
😂😂😂 lol
I love this song, thank you, it surprises me that despite everything that is happening in the United States due to the covid, you make music, thank you very much
I hope that one day you will read this greetings from Argentina
The show MUST go on! 😄
@@thepianoguys thank You for that
Your music brings me so much joy and lightens my heart ❤ ♥ Love this! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us all these years!
YES! JOY!!! Thank you Michelle! ❤️❤️❤️
Mom passed away 11/11/2020. Your music moves me emotionally in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your gifts of music.

I’ll be wondering how that sound was created for quite some time 💜
I love your attention to detail, Rayden. You are a consummate musician. So honored you listen to our music.
I LOVE this story.
The combination of these two instruments are amazing
Music has the power of love, healing and faith. Keep it up!!!
Thank you so much for performing such uplifting music! I'm thankful for all my family and the people who came before me. I love this song already!
Absolutely beautiful, as always. Your songs will never seize to amaze me.
And just what I needed.
Thank you for Fan-girling, Fangirl. ☺️

The energy in this is truly infectious
I love your talent and your love of music that i feel
Really
The setting for this video is amazing. I truly find joy in watching you two play.
Me too! 😊
Steven Sharp Nelson, you are so handsome with that cello in hand and white-teethed smile!

I would be nothing if it weren’t for his love
God bless you and thank you for what you do
