As I explained, I cried because I was missing my brother that just passed in September from complications from COVID. He always attended my daughters performances & had attended the last time you were on tour & she was able to participate. My daughter also wept the first night she left the stage after performing. We both missed him, but above all, felt his presence with us that night. Thank you for this gift. Watch a singer hit that high note and smile. Steve moving and smiling as he plays. You can't help but feel that emotion right along with them.
That was what drew me to their music as well - how they play with such depth of feeling. That's what I admire most in musicians. Virtuoso musicians are two-a-penny, but people who play with deep and genuine feeling are very, very rare. And for me, TPG are the best of the best.

One of my memories I’ll never forget from my senior year of high school was my free period at the end of the day… I always went upstairs to my favorite teachers classroom since she didn’t have anyone in there and we would talk,do art projects, and listen to your music. Woaahhh the nostalgia. I remember going to a concert of yours here in Utah years ago when I knew nothing about piano and it really was a spark for me to want to play. I took lessons for like a year not long after that but quit before I got very far at all. And then like 8 years later at the start of the pandemic I started teaching myself and since then the piano has totally changed my life. I'm walking down the aisle for my wedding on June 10th of 2023 to this wonderful radiation of the song. It almost brought me to tears even my fiance admitted he might cry. We're both early 20's and our parents raised us on the 80's and music like this. Thank you so much for making this.💕
When it comes to this particular song, I’ve always imagined the wedding part of course. Yet the key makes the difference (no pun intended!)! D Major sets it in a bright afternoon. Bump it down a bit to C# Major, like the original, and you’re having the wedding with a sky not blue, but a bright orange. Sunset comes and passes, with the following party going into the night. Eb Major? Maybe for the morning. You might get my point there. Always felt like a warm song, not hot or cold. Hence C# Major.
I like what you’re thinking, but that could make for some interesting notation issues. Specifically since you mention Eb Major and C# Major, but with D that doesn’t always diatonically work without some interesting modulation progression. Maybe if Db Major was used instead it would make it easier to modulate with Eb Major being that scale’s Subtonic (but that’s usually used in minor scales of course) and work Chromatically with D. You could also look at moving around and modulating to A Major as well and look at E Major as a secondary as those scales are quite warm as well and are easier to work with, though it’s the Piano Guys so maybe “easier” isn’t the right word here. At that point it’s just looking at available options, but I would just diatonically change the scale from C# Major to Db Major even though it’s enharmonic with each other, but it would make the notation more smooth. Either way it sounded amazing and I may look to arrange this just for giggles.
I have never left a comment on a video before, but I had to because I am absolutely blown away. Sweet Child is one of my all time favourite rock out songs and I think this is the best cover of a song I have ever heard in my life. Bravo!

I remember watching these guys in a live concert back in 2019 they preformed for everyone who made an all-state choir or band.

Woaahhh the nostalgia. I remember going to a concert of yours here in Utah years ago when I knew nothing about piano and it really was a spark for me to want to play. I took lessons for like a year not long after that but quit before I got very far at all. And then like 8 years later at the start of the pandemic I started teaching myself and since then the piano has totally changed my life. Thank you for inspiring me way back then, I honestly don't think I would've started playing otherwise

This song originally came out 3 years after I graduated from high school and I definitely remember that old Guns N Roses version. Now I am in my mid 50’s. I think this is a beautiful rendition of the old song. If you ask me though, every song you guys do is beautiful!!

I'm walking down the aisle for my wedding on June 10th of 2023 to this wonderful radiation of the song. It almost brought me to tears even my fiance admitted he might cry. We're both early 20's and our parents raised us on the 80's and music like this. Thank you so much for making this.💕
how did it go?
When it comes to this particular song, I’ve always imagined the wedding part of course. Yet the key makes the difference (no pun intended!)! D Major sets it in a bright afternoon. Bump it down a bit to C# Major, like the original, and you’re having the wedding with a sky not blue, but a bright orange. Sunset comes and passes, with the following party going into the night. Eb Major? Maybe for the morning. You might get my point there. Always felt like a warm song, not hot or cold. Hence C# Major.
I like what you’re thinking, but that could make for some interesting notation issues. Specifically since you mention Eb Major and C# Major, but with D that doesn’t always diatonically work without some interesting modulation progression. Maybe if Db Major was used instead it would make it easier to modulate with Eb Major being that scale’s Subtonic (but that’s usually used in minor scales of course) and work Chromatically with D. You could also look at moving around and modulating to A Major as well and look at E Major as a secondary as those scales are quite warm as well and are easier to work with, though it’s the Piano Guys so maybe “easier” isn’t the right word here. At that point it’s just looking at available options, but I would just diatonically change the scale from C# Major to Db Major even though it’s enharmonic with each other, but it would make the notation more smooth. Either way it sounded amazing and I may look to arrange this just for giggles.
