Just so you guys know, if any of you want this video with English subtitles, I have one. Made it a while ago. Just check my videos. (btw, I do have permission from the original owner of the video @tribaltaisan)
His hair is adorable. My boyfriend was saying he dislike the welsh language because it sounds like we should be understanding it, totally true. At: 0:25 Iwan sound like he's saying "yeah yeah I remember about my.."!
@akalashay I'm American and I speak English, Welsh, Spanish, and German fluently. I'm learning Russian and Mandarin right now. I'm only 16 as well. Just saying, it's not all Americans. lol. Just those who don't choose to actually learn and apply themselves. :)
wow listening to this, I can see how the nordic and celtic languages are from the "same" area (relative to the rest of Europe). it's like, I keep hearing the same intonations and inflections as swedish for example on a side not, IWAN IS SO CUTE
@yurismir1 Not in the least. My father spoke Spanish, but wasn't around for my life until this year. My mother only speaks English. I've also lived in Kansas my whole life, except for one year in Washington. At that point I already spoke Welsh and Spanish fluently. :P
@akalashay Yeah, I searched out for Welsh and German, but they were free online. :) I also found very cheap books at used book stores and/or chain book stores that taught me what I couldn't find online. Spanish was offered in school from 6th grade up, so I learned the basics from middle school and chose to watch Spanish programs in order to help me learn more. Nearly all of my learning has been free. :P
@yurismir1 Yes, I'm positive. :) I took no language classes as a child. I only started Spanish classes in middle school, so when I was 11/12 years old. I don't even know if there are any Welsh classes in my city, haha. There are probably German classes though, I've never checked into it. I began learning Welsh at the end of 6th grade on my own, because I met someone from Wales and found the language fascinating. I started German in 5th grade because I became entranced by the band Rammstein. XD
Omg, I wish I could speak Welsh xD It is so weird because it's like they're speaking English but it's just so different. I've never heard a language pronounced in that way. I'm officially learning :P
Does he say some words in English because he doesn't know the Welsh for it - considering not many people speak Welsh anymore - or because they actually use alot of English words, like nouns? But much love for Iwan Rheon.
@seagoonproductions wow thats amazing they should do that here in the states instead making people buy classes/books/dvds to learn spanish or any other language ... i really want to live in UK
I know nothing about Welsh I will admit. But when I hear it, a lot of the expression and stress on words is very similar to English. A lot of harsh and awkward transitions between each word, rather than being really fluent like French or Spanish etc. Some of the words used are actually English too, like when Iwan said 'Erm, yeah...' at 0:25 and 'glamourous' at 0:31. Are there links between the two languages? Forgive me lol, like I said I know sweet f/a about Welsh :-P
Is it custom in Welsh interviews for the interviewer to do all the speaking and barely let the star get a word in? Because all of the Welse interviews of Iwan I have watched are like this...
maen dwli ar Iwan Rheon a Misfit achos maen gret. (im welsh and i cant speak it, in al this is the only sentence i could think to put together, it says i love iwan rheon and misfit becuase they are great) - all of this interveiw i cant understand :L
@Koyuki14 exactly i think its cause america is still racist and segregated ... i noticed in Britain they judge people less upon looks then here... but i am thankful to be in this country
Okay... I'll stop saying that English is unpronounceable, or almost (Although very nice). Welsh beats completely. But it's pretty, it makes you want to learn ... but WOW. ._.' And sorry if my English is bad >
@eiram31 I don't even get what he's saying. When folks set out to learn another language - I doubt Welsh is high on the list of potential languages. You need to weigh the probability of actually USING the skill. Humans tend to wanna learn shit just for the sake of saying they know how to do somethng. But 9 times out of 10, their new skill is pretty useless. I'm 33 and never - not once - NEEDED to know how to speak another language. I have however NEEDED to change a flat tire and so I learned.
I don't need to speak Welsh to know that this chick needs to it from fourth gear back down to third--stop talking and let Iwan speak. It is HIS interview after all you know -__-
The interviewer is so enthusastic, i love her!
I speak Welsh, and I understand everything!! Love it, funny, no one else does. Like my little treasure. I can enjoy what Iwan is saying :)
im from wales, can speek welsh and love how iwan is a welsh speaker hehe
I dont understand a word, but the language is beautiful, love welsh and irish language...

Ionawr is January in Welsh if anyone is wondering. I'm Welsh :D
His hair is adorable. My boyfriend was saying he dislike the welsh language because it sounds like we should be understanding it, totally true. At: 0:25 Iwan sound like he's saying "yeah yeah I remember about my.."!
Must ....learn....Welsh.
How is it that I never heard this language but I got the jist of their conversation. :O
The little plasma thing moves with their voices..
hahahahah it took me about 5 seconds to realise this wasn't in english.
it sounds so cool!
Welsh just sounds like gibberish to me. It's so over my head. I wish i understood it, it sounds so cool.
@akalashay I'm American and I speak English, Welsh, Spanish, and German fluently. I'm learning Russian and Mandarin right now. I'm only 16 as well. Just saying, it's not all Americans. lol. Just those who don't choose to actually learn and apply themselves. :)
Iwan Rheon, I would like you to know that you are the one reason as to why I am learning Welsh right now.
;]
wow listening to this, I can see how the nordic and celtic languages are from the "same" area (relative to the rest of Europe). it's like, I keep hearing the same intonations and inflections as swedish for example
on a side not, IWAN IS SO CUTE
@lambie1985 It's cyntaf. It means first in Welsh
HAHAHA that was a perfect way of summing it up. It really does.
so glad i can speak fluent welsh
lol, did anyone else watch it all even though they couldn't understand a thing?
@yurismir1 Not in the least. My father spoke Spanish, but wasn't around for my life until this year. My mother only speaks English. I've also lived in Kansas my whole life, except for one year in Washington. At that point I already spoke Welsh and Spanish fluently. :P

My fave character in misfits.
i love how she says his name at 0:10
Is it just me or does it sounds kinda scandinavian? it reminds me so much of swedish or norwegian.
LOVE IT!

@xMexStarx no i get it, but he has to put spanish in there too XD swedish and dutch sound very alike too but swedish has more 'higher' sounds.
@TaraB972 Duh! He georgeous! I couldn't help myself!
i have no idea whats going on but i like to watch him talk! XD
Woah. I've never heard Welsh before. :D Interesting.
I can put an English translation up in the next few days!
Caru ti Iwan!
man i wish this had subtitles....
Does anyone know how to get subtitles, if you can?
Omg, I wish I could speak Welsh xD It is so weird because it's like they're speaking English but it's just so different. I've never heard a language pronounced in that way. I'm officially learning :P
i love how every so often an english word is thrown in :L
"... welsh welsh welsh welsh glam! welsh welsh ..."
Does he say some words in English because he doesn't know the Welsh for it - considering not many people speak Welsh anymore - or because they actually use alot of English words, like nouns?
But much love for Iwan Rheon.
@xMexStarx I thought it sounded Swedish a bit...
@akalashay It's an interesting conversation about things you'd do if you were invisible - " anweledig"
I thought she was meant to be interviewing him. She wouldn't even let him talk.
i cant speak welsh but i still watched it lol. picked up the odd word.....'glam' lol. :)
wish I knew what was being said
@DjHamHam411 because welsh a lot of the words are close to english.
Now I understand why he remains me to Alex Vlahos
@seagoonproductions wow thats amazing they should do that here in the states instead making people buy classes/books/dvds to learn spanish or any other language ... i really want to live in UK

phonetically welsh sounds a bit like icelandic
lmao i have nooooo idea what they're saying .
This is really weird because they have some random English words thrown in there...
He looks like a hobbit. Did anyone else notice that? and he's a hot hobbit.
lol at people saying he sounds sexy. Welsh is probably the least sexy language there is. Spit ahoy!
@Koyuki14 exactly i think its cause america is still racist and segregated ... i noticed in Britain they judge people less upon looks then here... but i am thankful to be in this country
@Scarletthelps He's Welsh lmfao
...Did anyone else watch the beginning of this and think it was english but the woman had like a speech impediment or a really bad lisp or something?
hahaha, This is gonna sound rude to anyone who speaks this language but I feel like I just watched "Sims: The movie"
How is that considered english?????
godith materio ;D
Okay... I'll stop saying that English is unpronounceable, or almost (Although very nice). Welsh beats completely. But it's pretty, it makes you want to learn ... but WOW. ._.'
