This is a BEAUTIFUL restoration! I've long been a Studebaker fan, and my very first new car was a '61 Lark convertible in Ermine White. It was a 61VL8, which I traded off on a new Mustang in 1965...yes, I know I wish I still owned them along many others! Later on, I found another '61 at the same dealership, in the back row. It was a 61SL8 with a bad automatic, but the body was clean, and of the same color, with a red interior in great condition. This started a new collection an a frame off restoration. Didn't know what a rotisserie was then, but I had saw horses!

Love this body style of Studebaker. My family had a 1964 Studebaker Cruiser dark blue wuth a beautiful blue cloth interior. Studebakers, unlike its rivals, had coil spring seats. We took our '64 on trips over our 1965 Ford Galaxy. It was a much more comfortable car. It was built like tank extremely solid. This car is just beautiful.

Will continue saying over and over. Probably the most beautiful convertible in 1964.
Then again the fastest without any argument.
Consider this convert with R3 engine was 12 mph FASTER than the 63-64-65 corvettes at 150+ MPH. Not even a contest. Vettes could only do 138. Not bad for a 304 cube engine 15 years old vs the Vette in 65 with a 396 porcupine head newly developed. Stude the true performance leader in the 63-64 era. NOT the Big 3.
