Amazing content and editing! Having sailed both cruise lines, I can say that your presentation of both were on target. If you can't find something fun to do on a cruise (regardless of the cruise line) than you probably will never have fun at all 🙂⛱
My favorite part was when Alyssa was hunting for a shady place to sit and then it cuts back to you showing all of the chairs and umbrellas available at Coco Cay!!!! 😂Awesome video, thanks guys!
We did Royal in November and MSC in December. Hands down Royal was better - nicer balcony cabins, more onboard activities, the best entertainment, better food, and better private island (especially with free umbrellas, a pool, and many activities). We booked MSC to try the nightlife on their island but they left at 4 pm instead of 10 pm even though the weather was great and other cruisers said that’s happened many times before - so disappointing. I doubt we will ever do MSC again from all our experiences.
Splendid side by side comparison. Early on it looked like Royal was pulling ahead but, later MSC seemed to catch up. In the end, it looked like there was something to love about both cruise lines!
Interesting that MSC allows you to stay overnight on their private island. Love your vlogs Griff and Alyssa! This comparison series is a great idea! Don’t see any other vloggers doing this kind of series! Keep up the good work!
Just did the MSC seaside from Barcelona to Rio de Janeiro. The table for the room or the balcony is next to the refrigerator. Its a multipurpose vanity stool and table, can be used for both things
First of all, I want to rate your video... 10 out of 5! Great presentation and the editing was awesome! What a viewing experience! Very professional, informative and very entertaining! I must admit, I did miss seeing Ms. Cutie Pie Noa! I think when I am traveling solo, my tolerance for many things is a lot higher than when I am traveling with my significant other. The closet space Alyssa encountered was noteworthy, but if I were traveling alone, I would not really care. Same with the ottoman that could be used as a table. I am easy so I would make do. With a significant other, those things would be a bit more important. I have to admit I am a bit biased because I tend to be loyal to Royal. That being said, I think Royal edged MSC in terms of a better experience on this weekend cruise. As you know, on any given weekend, the tables can turn and either cruise line could have bested the other. You all are comparing apples to apples and did an excellent job doing so! Compare either cruise to Margaritaville at Sea and I think the scale gets decisively tipped. I am not casting stones but that is a different league, or category or cruising. Love you guys! As solo commentators and as a Team, you guys are awesome fun!! Real and genuine peeps! Again, Great job on the side by side review! Thanks for taking the time and energy for that project! A++ You're welcome! I will see myself to the door! LMAO! 😎😎😎
It’s been several years since I’ve practiced but I still identify culturally as a bartender and watching you pour that blue moon in playmakers hurt my heart 😂 I love this concept though and the video is great, thanks guys!
What a great video!!! Super creative and the editing was on par. Kept me hooked. MSC’s beach party and light show looks like a blast! And I agree about how fast RC books it out of their own island. Makes me feel like I was at house party and the cops showed up the way we scram out of there…lol! Alyssa…I loved your hair for your dinner at the steakhouse. So simple yet super elegant. I’m definitely going to try to attempt something like that for my next cruise.
HELLO FAMILY! "WOW", both were very informative! The editing was awesome. I got to see you guys at the same time, I liked that. I did miss Baby Noa and that million dollar smile. MAMA BROOKS! :)
One of the best cruise videos I’ve seen. It didn’t feel like 34 minutes. Such a good pace and fantastic humor. I haven’t sailed MSC, but I have done Royal many times. And it was cool seeing Griff at Chops eating at the same spot where I ate when I sailed solo on her in 2022. I got the filet….as usual.
I embarked on Seaside 1 month after you did the cruise (I saw the date on the screen) to work as a Chef. I was actually assigned to the gardemanger station (appetizers and salad, so I was doing thousands that Caesar salad every week😅). It's so interesting to see the ship from a passenger's pov. About the drill, it's actually not that complicated. You watch a safety video on your TV, call the # and hang up (no need to speak and no need to wait for them to speak to you, it's just so they know you actually did watch the video) and then scan at the muster station. Ofc it's going to crowded, the ship takes 5k passenger + ~1500 crew, in a real emergency the stairs and hallways are not going to be empty for you. So it's all about being patient and keeping calm, scan and you're free. The food, tbh, it's not the best but we try our hardest. The galley it's always understaffed 😂. So glad you enjoyed Butcher's Cut. I was friend's with the Chefs there and they love what they do sooooo much. That lava cake is delicious, I know because my roommate was one of the pastry Chefs and she used to sneak some to me 😂.
For us it will be choosing MSC over RC now. RC scaled down their MDR menus in early 2023 by A LOT. RC charges higher prices but offers less and less cruise gourmet food (unless you pay even more money to specialty dine) ... that is a solid pass for us! And MSC pizza and coffee is waaaaaay better than RC.
I LOVE this video. I love the dedication from y'all to deliver this amzing content. I love the format/editing of this video. Job well done! Let's be serious though.... no other private island compares to how amazing perfect day at coco cay is!!!
This was the best video review I watched so far , and Gid knows I watched a number of them. I'm planning a cruise for my mom's birthday - first cruise for both her, me and my 1 yr old son. This was so fun to watch and your personalities transpire throughout the video ! Thank you sooooo much! This is definitely helping me in my decision making !
I think that with the way the world is now, it would make sense to make it available for those that would take advantage of business centers. Instead of converting the libraries to another bar, make them into a business center.
This was well done, good job. We have sailed both lines and can relate to your experiences. The private islands are quite different in that Ocean Cay is more about relaxing and CocoCay more action packed. We liked both. Royal is a bit more expensive but all in all a better experience imo.
Wow! Royal's Cococay looks so much better for things to do and food to eat! While Ocean Cay kinda felt like a private beach club. Definitely great if you like a quiet beach day, or want a warm chill day to shop on thr ship. The water at Ocean Cay was unbelievably clear, and the snorkel excursion was beautiful!

Hopefully it's usually like Cullen's experience where the rain moves out to be replaced by wonderful weather. Thanks for making this video!
I was just on MSC Seaside last week! I agree with a few things. Muster station was crazy!!! Dinner most nights in the dining room took 2 hours! Ocean Cay was amazing! The ship was beautiful but I probably would only book again for the private island!!

I just rediscovered your channel and I'm loving the new style of content. Binge watching while drinking my morning coffee and resubscribed. 🎉🎉🎉

So far I sailed only with Norwegian, and every time I book a cruise with then, I wonder, whether I should try a cheaper option. Now I know, that I don't. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Going to Alaska in May 2024, and thanks God, I chose the more expensive option, otherwise, would be very disappointed.
P.S. I live in EU, so it is quite a far away for me .😅
