Extremely cool, I just hope LEGO’s legal team doesn’t drop the hammer. Mars Mission has been retired for over of decade, but companies can be very strict with this kind of stuff.
Man this takes me back. I remember going to the old lego website to play this and the Bionicle webgames back in the day. Can't believe someone actually went and made a 3D remake of it. Definitely going to check this out later.
They also had this C&C / AoE game on the DS specifically, using the same mechanics but somewhat more polished and more lego-ish. It was called "Lego Battles". I played this so much it was really good Also, it freatured medieval vs monsters (like what you see in the Clutch Power animated lego movie) as well as the aliens vs humans maps.
C&C fanbase is starving for C&C. No surprise your previous video exploded in views. Especially when it is concise, to the point, well scripted and respectful to both franchises.
Wait, so a CnC style game that has on field resources but you can build structures or something to allow passive income, that sounds more like command and conquer generals, assuming the onfield resources are finite as CnC3 essentially have neigh infinite resources, however the tiberium field has to regenerate. However, the idea of having several dozen options of obtaining resources seem very reminiscent of Dune where in that game, you had basic miners but you had additional options and even a carrier to transport the harvester over terrain.
@@BrokenCircle1 I thank you for this correction as for some reason, the idea of setting up long term income to me is like big brain play, it adds a depth, a layer to strategy where STarcraft 1 and 2 its "be quick, consume and rapid unit movement".
Between this and Maniac Miners and the two count 'em TWO open-world Bionicle games, Lego fans who also like a good video game are eating GOOD. Well, eating better than previously.
Great video. Thank you very much. I also love how fans keep classic games alive. I hope that LEGO doesn’t shut down this Project. In Germany it is very technically and legally term with the company LEGO when something is in the market and looks like LEGO but isn’t.
@@BrokenCircle1 no in Germany we do have other companies like LEGO. Cobi, or Blue Bricks. BlueBricks has fantastic sets for example. But LEGO sued some retailers who sell others Bricks than LEGO to keep the competition small.
@BrokenCircle1 i hope not lego needs to chill mars mission was one of my favorite sets nexts to space police and starwars and lego crystal miners i forgot the name for that one...
I’m really glad there’s people crazy enough to port over the original game into Godot, and create a spiritual successor in Unity. I hope the dev adds units from Lego Battles (speaking of Lego Battles, someone is currently making a pc port that has various quality of life improvements/additional features. Sadly, development is very slow, and you’ll need a ROM since the dev can’t just use Lego Battles’s assets for legal reasons. That will be great once it’s finished). Do you know if there’s a way to get this working on Chromebook? My main computer isn’t working at the moment, and it would be too much of a hassle to try to get either of these running on the Steam Deck since Linux is finicky. Since you got a lot of views from the previous Mars Mission RTS video do you think you’ll also cover Lego Battles and Manic Miners? It would be funny if your channel shifted from primarily Halo content to Lego🤣. I’m sure you could probably also make videos on the various Lego Flash games since there’s Flash emulators now.
Imagine how cool it would have been if they made an rts game of ALL of LEGO's space themes* in one package! (*Except star wars of course) I would call it....LEGO: cosmic command!

Looks great, a nice upgrade to the original games. Though I would say that the crystals look a little lazy and they should keep it somewhat similar to the original but it still looks great
Thanks for that but I will be honest with you I don't always do Lego content it's more of a once in a while thing. Of course feel free to check out my other stuff.
dude a Space Police DLC would be fire
New Faction yea

Thanks for the kind words!
I would love to see modding with compatibility for other LEGO sets, even custom ones.
That would be AMAZING
I totally agree.
I advocate for life on mars sets being neutral units or a third faction
That'd be cool.
That was my thought, as its kind of setup via the usable abandoned vehicles.

The buildings in this game are all built on concrete, just like in the Dune games :)
