@@HungryWarden I just think that war is a high tier war for other countries, for example France and Italy. America shouldn’t rank that high for that war

I'll be the "um actually" guy this time: Muskets could be fired 2-4 times a minute by the average soldier The mexican-American war took place in the 1840s
By the 1860s where caplocks were everywhere it turned into 5-6 per minute and caplocks were a hell of a lot more reliable not to mention the fact that there were lever action rifles/carbines and breech loading single shot rifles/carbines aswell as revolving pistols/rifles/carbines not to mention the good old Bowie knives bayonets and sabres also cannons and maybe a Gatling gun her and there.
Classic overreach. Happens to everyone. Napolean for French was too big, too fast, too dominant. When a country overreached they put themselves on everybody’s radar and over time all their rivals and subjects evolve strategies to combat them specifically. You don’t feel the effects right away, but the pendulum swings both ways. On top of that the French LOST the Napoleonic Wars so they didn’t even get to establish an empire to prolong their dominance.
They went from being undisputedly the greatest military power in the world under Napoleon, to remaining formidable amongst its peers during the first half of the Concert of Europe but stagnating throughout the second half. WW1 showed that a supported France could still hold against Germany, but it had been decisively surpassed as the strongest power in continental Europe. And after further stagnation WW2 France tried to do the same as it did in WW1 but the gap between itself and Germany had grown too great
Ethan i gotta admit you are very creative with your tier list’s. You are legitimately my favorite content creator/channel on TH-cam right now. All your videos are very entertaining and actually really informative at times. Keep up the great work! PS we are still waiting for the 50 states tier list!
12:49 funny thing is soon after burning the Whitehouse a tornado came in and wiped out all the British forces soon after and even extinguished the fires as well
Irak is not the same country as Iran and the vietnam and korean wars are also usually comprehended as being part of the cold war so cover those or the other, not both. It is worth to be informated and truthful specially while covering historical events.
One major reason why the brits lost to those hillbillies in the revolutionary war is because the french decided to help them (and also the spanish and a few others), which later contributed for them to have their own revolution and ditch their monarchy
Wish you would rank other wars that included different continents as well. Obviously the world wars, stuff like the 7, 30 and 100 years war, boxer rebellion, napoleon wars, war of the triple alliance for south america, etc etc Could also lead you to learn more about these wars as you said at the beginning that you dont know a lot about them. Just as a heads up Love your content ^^
14:03 as a history buff/former history teacher, this part is so accurate it’s not even funny. I remember a student in one of my university courses trying to make the argument about “states rights” and the professor made the same point as you: the states right to do what, exactly? And then we read some primary source documents (I believe it was VA’s secession from the union?) in which the confederates state that chief amongst these “states rights” is the right to continue chattel slavery and slave labor lmao.
Smallpox doesn’t even live on surfaces, and the guy who claims Amherst wanted to use smallpox blankets has proven himself to not be reputable source (I have a BA in history)
The USA lost the war of 1812. It failed to invade Canada, lost most of its navy and the Whitehouse was burned down, the only major victory the USA won in the war was after peace had already been signed, not to mention Britain was fighting and beating napoleon at the same time
The Mexican American war is one of the most interesting wars I have ever studied. And by the way, it took place after the war of 1812. Many Civil War icons can be found in this war.
I mean we also invented the colt. 45 that could shoot 6 rounds in a few seconds which totally revolutionized horseback combat especially against the Native Americans

Vietnam is the true superpower of the world. They beat both the US and China.
