RusH is composed of 3 compulsive perfectionist, and genuine good people that do not have any the ego trips that have lead to the demise of many successful bands.
Truly GREAT musicians that are also truly great friends.... Resulting in some of the cleanest, tightest most amazing music ever made.

Rush is a 70s band, and this song was from 1981. Neil Peart is the drummer and is regularly listed by all sites as one of the greatest drummers of all time. He was not only technically proficient, but he elevated drumming to new levels by carefully composing and weaving it into songs and make it more melodic and musical.

Emmanuel, Natal RN Nordeste Brasil. Fiquem com Deus!!!

*No Bigger Rush Fan Than Me On The Planet (I'm Sure Millions Feel The Same Way About Themselves) & This Was The Track That Hooked Its Canadian Teeth Into Me In 1981. I Was A Little Familiar With PW (1980), But Tom Sawyer/Moving Pictures Immediately Obsessed Me To Consume All 7 Studio Albums That Preceded This One. 43 Years & 33 Concerts Later, I Still Believe It's The Greatest Song & Album They've Created. In My Opinion, They Were At Their Apex; Musical Complexity (Pre MIDI) & Musical/Lyrical Talent - Especially The Sound Of Pratt's Cherry-Wine Tama Kit & Percussion Ensemble Which Began Changing On Their Next LP, Signals (1982). Maybe It's My Bias Because 1981 Is When I Became A RUSHian Citizen, But Tom Sawyer May Be The Greatest Hard Rock Tune Of All-Time. Thank-You For Putting This Together.* ☆

Neil Peart is the Drummer who joined the band on their Second Album. They are from Canada. The Drummer wrote the Lyrics for the songs, and the Bass/Keyboardist is the Lead Vocalist. The Guitarist is a Classical Guitarist. That 70's Band you think the singer sounds like is a Band also from Canada called Triumph. The vocals sound similar. Triumph has Bad Ass Songs too!

The members of Rush are Neil Peart (percussion, drums, lyrics), Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, keyboards, composer) and Alex Lifeson (guitars, composer, backing vocals)... Neil "The Professor" Peart is widely regarded as the greatest drummer who has ever lived, and was the influence for other drummers, like Dave Grohl, and his entire generation drummers. He passed on 7 January 2020, from cancer.

Rush!!!!!! Fuck yeah! Their first Album came out in 1974 (Check out Working Man) then go down the Rabbit hole from there. As great as they are in the studio they might even be better live. Drummer Neil Peart has passed over into legend. RIP. Perhaps the greatest drummer of all time. He wrote all the lyrics too. Geddy Lee (bass, keyboards) and Alex Lifeson (guitars) are virtuosos as well. Rock and Roll hall of famers and most other musicians consider them to be untouchable in complexity and musicianship. The best part of RUSH, they were so diverse. They changed with the times. They had their own style from decade to decade. You can tell the different decades by their style of play. Many people have their opinions and preferences. But a true RUSH fan prefers them all. RUSH did things their own way. They played what they wanted, not what the record companies wanted. They were brilliant. A lot of their music was not appreciated at the time, but they stayed true to their art.And now look, 40+ years later, the new generation is still amazed by them. They are at the top of the musical food chain. They talked the talk, but they also walked the walk. The stories they told, you can listen to their songs and close your eyes and literally see the story line. I will leave the suggestions to other people. Keep it up guys, you are in for a treat. Trust your listeners, you will not be disappointed. I suggest to use lyrics to a lot of their earlier stuff, they go very deep. No one did it better. Proudly Canadian 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Glad you enjoyed that one guys. This is definitely one of their most popular songs, but in my opinion, they have other songs that are better. This is a very diverse band that were together for four decades and have over 200 original songs that all sound different. They were not afraid to experiment and kept changing their sound through the various decades. Some diehard fans only like the early stuff, but I like it all and think their songwriting actually got better as the years went on.

Tom Sawyer: This is some of the best footage of Niel Peart, the professor, on the drums. You know why? I’ll tell you why... Ya know how you get that audio/video sync problem. And It’s not lined up and what you are hearing is not what you’re seeing. I hate that, especially when seeing and hearing the drum playing. It’s verry noticeable with the drums. But here you see that drum hit and you hear it simultaneously. You can see Niel working behind his kit. You feel it. You feel what Niel feels as he is playing. He’s killing it. I love the drum fill when Niel is going all the way around the set, and on the way by he’s like’, “I think I’ll hit this symbol.” “While I’m here.” LOL. I must ask myself; did he place that symbol there just for this song? I may have stumbled over some details of what it took to make this epic song.
BTW, the pronunciation of Niel Peart’s last name. It’s not pronounced like the “Pert” shampoo. It’s more like Neil Peert" (like "Peer" with a T).

Xanadu live shows off their individual skills in a way that shows off how they could set a tone live. Note Geddy and Alex often play bass with their feet while playing keyboards. And Neil is maybe the best drummer ever, and both a drummer and a percussionist. This band, like Zeppelin, Queen, Zappa and the Winters Brothers, has the sort of talent that can scare other musicians if they're not super good on their instruments. These three all individually come together like some incredibly fortunate accident of sound that ends up being perfect. It's like every note is played exactly the way it should be, exactly when it should be. You'll have fun with this band.

RUSH = The greatest, most talented and most intelligent band in rock history. Not my opinion, it's a FACT of life. Enjoy!

You guys have a lot of catching up when it comes to Rush. One song down and about 50 or so great ones to go.

React to Subdivision by Rush. You’ll like the drums in there. To simple yet extremely technical.

Check out The Tragically Hip. Classic Canadian band. 38 Years Old is my favourite song by them
