  • Not 100% sure why I started with undiluted Fiebing's "Light blue" but it's not required this scheme.
Note: Fiebing's alcohol leather dyes (blues in particular) aren't terribly light fast, keep the piece/guitar away from daylight/light when not in use.

Really nice work... Have you grain filled the wood before the stain?

Fantastic work! Any chance on a tutorial on how you got the PRS jade green color?

No plans to. I did it before for color matching someone's jade green PRS but didn't write down the actual dye concentrations (I was tweaking it on the fly to achieve the desired shade of green).
I posted a fair bit of tutorials like those so anyone interested in dyeing wood has a starting point be it for fade/gradients, or multi layer schemes like this one or Aqua violet/Northern lights. Any other colors can usually be easily enough derived from understanding how colors mix/blend with or without sandback.

What do you use to coat/gloss the pieces at the end?

This test piece was clear epoxy to quickly and easily get a very high gloss layer. For actual parts (truss rod covers / backplates) I use lacquer.
