Dozer even went down the slide! Really cool to sit and watch these great westcoast operators do what they do best. "DIG" it! Thanx SoCal Earthmovers for sharing. I could watch for hours!

First time down that must be kind of like the first time solo landing in an airplane when you say to yourself, What did I get myself into? But when your landing you can power up and go around, here you are committed.
I don't think I've seen a 'dozer come down a slope as fast as that one did for a long time - and he had his ripper down. Lovely video - could watch them for hours - how about a compilation of all your early stuff.
I would love to do that, just load down a mountain. So heavy they sit down in that soil, stay on the up hill side and leg it's weight,transmission/brakes,and gravity go to work..very impressive.
I remember when the m54 was built we used to bike up to the works hide our bikes jump in the dumper trucks with the drivers share there dinners n have a ball happy days when we were kids 😀😀
SoCalEarthMovers - Do you have any footage of that quarry at Railroad Pass? Between Henderson and Boulder NV. Right across US95 from Railroad Pass Casino. Spent a few hours in the casino parking lot watching them bring loaded scrapers down the near vertical haul road. I was chewing holes in my pick-up seat just watching. Can't imagine what it was like actually doing it.
MORE, MORE.....DID I SAY MORE. I've read in the comments that many of the CAT 651 operators say " Its steep but really it's safe as long as you keep your can down and loading" . My question is and I must first validate that I wanting to see a near mishap, not to be macabre rather just very curious. I'm thinking there's a fine line between operator experience and a slight mis-judgement on crowding the area where the dozer went next to the "edge". Regardless, Very VERY INTERESTING video !
Clarence Cornbinder First time you go over a slope like that you question your job but then it's just another part of the job. keep your can low and there's nothing dangerous about it.
Absolutely brilliant, hope you got some more of that. thumbs up.

Thanks again for posting....we loved it in the past when you we're posting more, Gimb
At 4:10 when that dozer comes sliding down with the ripper firmly stuck in the ground. Absolutely AWESOME!
dozers dont slide down hills like that buddy. he was using his momentum to rip and push for the scrapers
I had seen a lot of sliding on one , but you are right about using the weight & speed to help rip.
Great video!!!!! I miss watching scraper vids

Great job a scraper doing
Gotta have some big "onions" to get over that hill
lowboy1one1 yeah and 63 they were pushing 6:30 ones off of a 400 foot drop at 55 degree angle 24 hours a day and no roll bars
yeah that was a typo 631
That's why it takes balls to be an Operator.
if I found out I had to do that first time going down i would piss myself

Maybe think about who put it there
You are okay as long as your back tires don't pass your front tires.

Are they just scraping it away bit by bit?
BigBaddie666 more like hogging it away haha.
