I see you trying to throw shade. 🛑 You all sound poorly informed. Black people are a MINORITY group in the US. That in itself was intentional on the part of the US government. There are likely to be more white people in any group in the US because there is a much higher percentage of white people in the US. I’m pretty sure the VAST majority of people who came through Ellis Island were white.

We can all learn from each other, the earth, and more...to say "we" is a form of othering that tends to go towards tribalism and "othering"...and feeds separation, superiority, ego, strife and hatred.
We, as an ideal monolithic group...doesn't exist. It's mind created narrative. There is much diversity in any given group, yet so many over-identify with one aspect. People are made of many variables and experiences.

The funniest thing about when I read the title of this is that for those of us that grew up in this state and an agricultural environments a 150 had dairy farm struggling everyday just to get your chores done because if you didn't get your chores done God forbid something with lack and then inevitably the family would suffer I don't remember seeing very many black folk or any folk that wanted anything other than a quick buck in their pocket coming up here. They most certainly weren't up here looking for in Agra cultural job, in fact if I remember right there were a bunch of take Vermont back signs on people's Lawns because the same-sex marriages were finally coming up to speed and getting with the rights and that they should have had from the get-go and we had a large proportion of folks who were running away from problems in big cities in other states a sex offenses drug charges etc etc come into a rule Dairy State finding some person that would be dumb enough to allow them to ingratiate into their family that a lot of which are on Section 8 or some sort of help for disability they start selling whatever it is that their lifestyle encourage them to do up in a small area with a small town where everybody knows each other and they call that racism because they end up inevitably getting caught doing a lifestyle and a life that inevitably gets them hemmed up

I like Ms Pennimans African historical perspective on growing food, caring for the earth, and community. Love it!! But, her comments that Permaculture does not exist is off point. I'm a Black (ADOS) Permacultre farmer and use the principles laid out by Mollison and Holmgren in my work and personal life. They put a name to a relationship with plants and habitat that certainly existed before their research. I believe Mollison gives plenty of credit to indigenous land stewards when he coined the term Permaculture and in his teaching. The ethics and principles encompass more than just farming or gardening. As to profit, I personally don't know a Permacuture practitioner in the top 50% of income earners. That being said, I have my own problems with the Permaculture community itself. And I do appreciate the work of Soul Fire Farm and Ms Penniman's mentoring of young farmers.

All and all it's just too far gone. We can't even make ships in America, how are we going to trade and eventually go back to Africa? They don't even like us from what I have observed in the U.S.A.

Our social history and burden is just as valid as their social history and burden it just came in different forms. and the reason we need unity is for the exact reason you name, we must start to think globally like all immigrants. my family has fought in every war this country has had from the civil war until now, and it still did not save them or us from getting short. no one is saying you need to leave the USA or at least i am not, but we all must remember there is strength in numbers.
