    The pigeon stretch is common pose in Yoga classes. It's important as a Yoga student or Yoga teacher to know how to make the pigeon effective. There is a specific glute stretch we're looking for in this stretch and the most important thing is that you find this stretch.
    Many people want to try to go straight to the beautiful pose that flexible people can accomplish. But if you are stiff and inflexible, skipping to that pose will not be the best way to get flexible. Try the progressions in this video and your pigeon pose will unlock eventually!

    I had a lot of trouble with the pigeon as a guy on the stiffer side. These cues have helped me a lot in the past and continue to help greatly as I open more and more. Hopefully they help you too!

    I used this modification in yoga class and it has changed my flexibility game. Thank you so much! I use my pillow under my knee and a block under my head and just melt into the stretch. My double pigeon has also improved because of this change. Thank you, thank you, thank you

    Great advice! I had been working on the pigeon with my front leg bent in more simile try out these suggestions with my front leg at a 90 to get more out of it
