I would suggest that viewers install the knob set in the door before putting the cylinder back in the knob. This will ensure that the keyhole is right side up. When you buy a new knob set it may install with the keyhole upside down as is. Even if you don't need to rekey, you'll need a pickle fork to flip the cylinder.
The cylinder removal and re-keying procedure outlined for the key-in-knob lock (first lock they re-keyed) is the same for Kwikset knock-offs (e.g. E-Z Set). For the key-in-knob locks of this kind, you WILL need the "Pickle Fork" used in the video. Using a flat-head screwdriver will only wreck the metal tabs that hold the cylinder in the knob assembly. With Schlage and more high-end locksets, the cylinder and plug removal procedures are a bit more manufacturer-specific.
Excellent video Made it easy to rekey my customers locks at Lowes. Thanks for posting.

Excellent video. It is the best and specifies each step very well.

Excellent video. You make this look really easy. I think you would be in big trouble is you or someone bumps your pin tray! :)
Thank you, very well explained....
Awesome video. Now can you show us how to make master keys, please?
Awesome video! Thanks.
What happen when the key does not come easily. I am rekeying sort of old lock, the key need a light pull. It does work with new key. Thank you.
Anyone else notice the key isn't a 66335 looks more to me like a 56345 looking at the cuts.
Dear Kwikset, I want a lock that takes the key shown at 2:11 in the video, not the cuts but actually one that big.
HEY ! It's the Flowbee guy !
threw it at the ground and the cylinder popped right out. then re keyed and still works fine.
Great video.
Great Video !
Not sure. It may work for others, but this program was produced specifically to demostrate Kwikset products.
is this only for kwikset locks/keys?
thanks
Thank you so very much!
