  • In the fourth part of this series, Cameron Miller and John D. Liu discuss how we can ensure that the right people are being rewarded for land restoration. How can we ensure that restoration projects aren't simply increasing the property values of already-wealthy landlords and governments? How might we employ land tenure?
John discusses the need for a new currency, because currency is a belief system. If we reach a critical mass of people believing in this currency and thus recognizing the root of true wealth, real progress can be made. Right now, our economic and education systems are not in alignment with the biological processes of the world. We are determining whether future generations that can continue, and it’s not the Earth that is in danger, it’s human civilization. In indigenous thought, the concept of land ownership is ridiculous. It is corrupt. To hold onto a corrupt concept is basically to lose your soul.
Community land trusts are an option. This is a way to aggregate wealth. A lot of these challenges are interrelated. If we incentivize regeneration, then all of our work will go towards restoring the Earth.
