I'd put the stuffing tube back in with a new liner and then clean up the flex shaft, some heat and wire brush to get all the plastic off it. Once that's done put the other end in a drill spin and try sanding the distorted spot down some, that might get you by until you can get a new shaft. Usually when they cook a liner the plastic gets melted and stuck into the strands on the flex shaft causing that bulge, so if you heat it and twist it tight cleaning it off as you go sometimes that and a light sanding will get you by.
