      It’s campaign donations the problem. Change the law so that only individuals can donate - and put a low cap on it so one person one vote gets real - and you’ll see politicians becoming suddenly interested in passing bills that the people want. As it is they are only interested in passing legislation that their donors want.

      Phillip Branham actually even rand() doesn’t generate truly random numbers. It takes a number called a “seed” and runs it through a fancy algorithm that produces numbers from it. If you use the same seed every time you get the same result every time. By default however the seed is usually the machine’s current time, and since time is constantly changing, it results in a number that appears to be random.

At first I thought, "You mean a PC as in a Windows machine? pfft, even these people aren't that dumb, they must mean 'pc' as 'personal computer,' but that doesn't hold up either since it's already a personal computer..." Hopefully in 15 years when senators are more tech savvy younger people, they'd be able to understand that macs ARE pcs. The lobbyists are always using jibberish arguments that sound legitimate to people who dont understand the terminology. Think of someone reading a random rare disease from a medicine text book and just giving you a fake description. You wouldn't be able to tell what it is. It's just messed up how the system is set up where the senators tackle every issue in a broad basis. They should have experts on every field in those panels.

    I think state representatives should ask two questions for all testimonies and ensure it is captured in some official record:
    - How does this bill hurt or help your constituents?
    - Do you or your constituents gain monetarily by opposing or supporting this bill impact or hurt you or your constituents? If so, how?
    I feel like these two questions would get to the true intent of what lobbyists and bad actors are truly there for and what they gain. Of course they could lie, but being a part of an official records definitely up the ante of it coming back to haunt them later.

    I am also glad you recognize the difficulty politicians face in deciding a myriad of technical issues. Too often people accuse representatives of being stupid, or incompetent, or incapable (or all three!). As always, some of that is true. But the fact is, most deal with so many different issues that it's simply impossible to independently come to a conclusion for every issue.

      That's supposed to be the point of a Representative Republic though. All of the citizens can't know all of the issues in depth, so we vote for and pay the salaries of people who we trust will spend their time understanding these things. If they can't do that, then they've failed. There's nothing stopping them from typing R2R into google or youtube and becoming educated.

    • @Aeroxima
      @Aeroxima 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brandonwc There is. They only have so much time, and while you may care a lot about this one issue, I doubt it's the only one they have to look at. The amount of time they have to "educate themselves" by drinking in whatever random questionable information from the internet is the amount of time they have to do their job divided by how many issues they have to consider. I'm sure they have home lives as well and aren't working 24/7 minus sleep time.
      In any case, I was going to say it sounds like even if they mean well, they're in a position somewhat similar to youtubers. It's only a matter of time before you have "offers" that might not be what you envisioned doing, but help pay the bills.. or are just too hard to pass up. A lot of people can't stop from eating themselves fat, so how much can we really expect with stuff like this?

      It's annoying that the bullshitters always get to go second so you can't directly call out everything they said that was untrue. You have to try to psychically predict and address their bullshit ahead of time because of this system, which doesn't always work out well, lol. I've seen Louis try to call out the common arguments ahead of time and watch the legislators sometimes forget what they heard previously by the time the lobbyist shills come out to speak. People tend to remember what they hear towards the end of a thesis or overall discussion more than they remember the middle. It's the same they teach you when writing a paper in English/literature class. Always put your strongest arguments at the end. The lobbyists conveniently always get that slot, unfortunately.

Your videos show me that the people who are actually responsible for making these laws are genuinely trying to do the right thing with what little information that comes around in their realm. We as a people need to be more involved with politics. The problem is obvious. Lack of public influence resulting in over representation of corporate interests just because regular guys don't show up.

  • @pr0xZen

    It really frustrates me, how they misrepresent the difficulty, the expertise needed, to do basic repairs on eg. an iPhone. Or various farming machines. Anyone with two reasonably functional eyes and a few appropriate tools can do it. You just need to pay proper attention to the fragile nature of some of the parts. Not because else you'll die a horrible death, but to avoid damaging some of the more fragile components inside (of your own property) in the process, that didn't need fixing / replacing. And, pay close attention to how the thing comes apart, to make sure you put it back together again correctly once you've done what you set out to do.
    Of course some repairs are much more complex than that, requiring more skill but mostly more equipment and information - but it's no more superspecialsecret skill and work, than what the guys and gals down at your local street car tuning shop does. Some of them might have taken a couple of courses to quickly get on top of brand new/emerging tech - but most of what they do, they too learn "hand to mouth", and by sharing tips, skills and information with other techs like them on the internet. A little "secret": Most of these kinds of techs, be it auto tuning, phone and computer repair etc - they have neither manufacturer approved certifications nor formal education in what they do. They learned by doing, sharing information with likeminded people, and doing their own information research. And they are the best at their trades by far.

    If so, this public showing of the lobbyists can be done a bit more easily, with simple re-uploads.
