I’m liking this series and I’m really glad I discovered it. I only wish the voice acting and their accents were more attuned to the countries they represent. The Mexicans sound like they’re from the Hamptons and the Africans sound like they’re from Oakland.
Honestly, how can you enjoy this? It presents a childishly oversimplified view of a complex topic, with drastic humanitarian consequences in a far away country that Nihon has to pay to for military protection. And worse, this episode made drug and people smugglers look like heros, when in reality they often use the illegals the smuggle as sex slaves or slaves on illegal Marijuana farms that steal electricity and pollute the water supply. The illegals that are lucky get paid far below the legal minimum wage to work in terrible conditions at farms and factories that can't get enough American employees because of the poor pay and conditions. That doesn't even bring into account the devastating effect that smuggled drugs are having on the poorest and most vulnerable communities in America. This is shameful.

This show has the most diversity in characters of any anime I have seen and the least diversity in voice actors of any anime I have ever seen. It's great writing that lands on its face because of the delivery of the acting. It's so close to being great and that's what keeps me watching.
The original Japanese audio track is 100000000 times better. I think there was a lot lost in translation because the English lines don't even match the subtitles they submitted for this show? But the Japanese audio track makes it waaaaay Better
Like everything in this country, guns have an artificial value set to them, but if you know where to look you can get a gun for dirt cheap. This country has 3 guns for every person and its only getting worse.

What a great episode: Story, animation, action, mecha, loved the concept of the wall remaining unfinished. How could the voice acting be so disproportionately terrible????? I want to see the Japanese version.
As the child of Mexican migrants, I can appreciate this as one of the stories included in the series. It's clear they wanted to not only take the premise seriously but also give a glimpse of life beyond the comfort of metropolis.
Interesting, it looks like the Exo Cockpits are like canvas tents for the desert cartels. Its subtle, but you can tell their not rigid like in episode 9 and the exos of dead "clients/border jumpers" don't have the covering on the main framework. Nice touch, considering the baking Sun in the desert would make the exo's scorching hot ovens in a closed cockpit

People-smugglers and coyotes with mecha...what a time to alive! Though better English voice acting would have given this vignette more impact. They are incredibly wooden, even when the coyote's taking a machete to those gun-trucks.

This one is written by Gen Urobuchi. I think he also wrote 2 additional episodes aside from this. He is really good in writing moral dillema and consequences, that's why.

man, last season (part 1) i had speculated how exos would change the world and i wondered how borders would be kinda hard to keep when the exo is so cheap and mobile. man, not just America, but every country with massive economic bases would be suffering as exos become more prominent. gas cars and even electric cars would become pointless when you can easily afford an exo. the military industrial complexes would try to hold onto government contracts as war quickly changes from "who has the most expensive toys" to "who has more people to throw into the meat grinder". industry would change overnight, with many companies no longer needing to buy extremely expensive hauling equipment. man so much would be at stake as the tables even out across the world, although im not sure if its for the better. our world inst perfect, but we have had very little conflict since ww2 (relative to how much conflict the world had before ww1), but these exos are probably bringing the world ever closer to ww3. the previous system, was unbalanced with a few countries holding all the power, while others were living in squaler, but the alternative seems like a bleak war torn future. man, i love this setting!
Ya, it’s a hell of a shift. Now even a third world country can go tow to tow with first world ones in this universe. Imagine all the conflicts that are just brewing in our world, but haven’t occurred due to a few super powers with all the advantages...

Episode was going alright until the guide suddenly gets a change of mind and risk his life so this mule can "follow her dream" These people aren't renowned for being kind to the mules, they'll leave you behind if you can't keep up or don't wanna carry their drugs.

Its really cool, canvas exo goes back to Jamal episode! Canvas concealment is cheaper than armor. You can see the zipper in some scenes

After watching this video, I suddenly had the urge to play Ghost Recon Wildlands again.
Its a first to see anime show my people trying to cross the border to enter the US. Sci-fi as it may be it still shows the struggle that my parents went through to come here for a better life

シーズン1後半で一番面白かったのがここだったと言うのを書きに来た。悪ぶってたコヨーテが善の心に目覚める辺りに短尺作品特有の弱点が見える気もしたけど、概ね良作の短編映画を見たような余韻が残る。悪くない気分だ。
なんか後半のラストのサムネがすごいガンダムしてるけどスーパーロボものみたいになってるの？

Its amazing how this so called revolutionary tech has changed the landscape of society in so many ways….
man, last season (part 1) i had speculated how exos would change the world and i wondered how borders would be kinda hard to keep when the exo is so cheap and mobile.
man, not just America, but every country with massive economic bases would be suffering as exos become more prominent. gas cars and even electric cars would become pointless when you can easily afford an exo. the military industrial complexes would try to hold onto government contracts as war quickly changes from "who has the most expensive toys" to "who has more people to throw into the meat grinder". industry would change overnight, with many companies no longer needing to buy extremely expensive hauling equipment. man so much would be at stake as the tables even out across the world, although im not sure if its for the better.
our world inst perfect, but we have had very little conflict since ww2 (relative to how much conflict the world had before ww1), but these exos are probably bringing the world ever closer to ww3. the previous system, was unbalanced with a few countries holding all the power, while others were living in squaler, but the alternative seems like a bleak war torn future.

@@CanadianFabe Good to know that i'm not the only one thinking that, i believe that the Peddlers are trying to weaken the major world powers, both economically and also militarily by creating instability all over the globe, if they can trigger a major world war between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd world countries, there wouldn't really be much left to fight against a future alien invasion, also, by distributing these mchines in a way that bankrupts all other vehicles industries on Earth, they can make humanity completely dependent on them, the humans barelly know how this tech works, for all we know these mechs could have a killswitch to shut them all down, efectivelly cripling our entire logistical and military infrstructure, not to mention that in a way, what the aliens are doing to humanity is the same thing that 1st world countries do to 3rd world counties, they trade advanced and expensive equipment for raw resources while outcompeting the 3rd world's industry, resulting on 3rd world countries becoming enterielly dependent on the 1st world in order to have access to technology, medication nd etc.
I strongly believe that this is the "grand plan" of the Peddlers.

I believe the key piece was his religious inclination. He truly believed in Santa Muerte so that softened his heart.
