Im so glad to see you making yogurt from scratch before you freeze dry it . I use my powder from my strawberries and blueberries I have also freeze dried lime juice and used the powder for lime yogurt drops. I use honey for sweetener I will try using banana powder mixed with strawberries for the sweetener
I make yogurt all the time using Ultra-pasteurized milk in my InstantPot. I don’t have to do the first stage heating step in yogurt making when using the ultra-pasteurized.
FDing yogurt is on my bucket list. Am going to give strawberry powder a try. No sweetener (I eat keto). Some people say to add cream cheese to the yogurt for added texture. Have you ever tried that?
@@clydesdalehomestead3807 thanks so much. I'm new to making treats and recently downloaded the latest version which has the candy mode. Ithink I finally understand it a bit more....if there's not much moisture than do candy mode otherwise normal mode. I loved your video :)
I am new to this and I tried to free freeze Greek yogurt, unflavored unsweetened I added fruit, honey and or maple syrup, but it will not freeze. Do you know why?
@@shh1702 yes, freeze drying makes a product completely dry unlike dehydrating that can leave items with enough moisture to be flexible. Instead of chewing the yogurt drops I like to let them rehydrate in my mouth.
My yogurt and kefir "drops" are very chalky… The flavor is good, but the texture is chalky… I have heard (but have not yet tested) that putting gelatin with your yogurt will help with that chalky texture… I'm excited to try as soon as I get the chance!
I love how you teach. It’s so relaxing and thorough.
Thank you for this!

How do u store them? I want to dehydrate mine from my toddler and I’m not sure how fast he will go through them!
@@kaleyburke5142 hi, I store my fragile freeze dried items like yogurt drops in glass jars that are vacuum sealed.
What temperature did you set the freeze drier? Thanks
@@harlyluv I don’t change the temperature on my freeze drier. I use the automatic settings.

Freeze dryer settings? What temp?
@@maryrobinson4166 automatic settings. I’ve never needed to change the temperature for anything I’ve freeze dried.

Greek yogurt never worked for me. I used regular Publix brand yogurt, it was perfect
I made these and they are so very dry... they were almost like putting cotton ball. Is this how they always come out?
