Since I was a child I have always wanted to draw and write my own book. Still not happened, but I have been sketching everyday (almost) for the past 3 years.

That’s how you start!! And it’s an important part of the process. I always have notebooks and sketchbooks to write notes and doodle in. That’s how you start to build a “world” or the concepts of your book. And just so small bits at a time.

I'm started
a new project yesterday, I was cleaning out and old portfolio and found some watercolor paintings I did in my first class in 2008. I cut some down and framed them and others were practice works of strokes and color mixing, and painting in all one color. I made ephemera fodder out of those. I planning on documenting my daily thoughts of 2023 with my stamping, sketching and watercolor in this combo junk/art journal. It will be unplanned and play for the most part. I will also use all the art supplies I have being too precious with. I'm actually excited about this because I don't care what others will think about my crazy project, I'm retired from a Healthcare profession of laboratory science where everything had to be accurate and perfect everytime, I can do this for no reason at all except thatI want to. Wish me luck.

This came at the perfect time! I recently joined a writing challenge to write a novel in 5-6 months and my outline is literally due tomorrow, and your analogy of an outline as a collection of tiny 'to-dos' is game-changing! I was really struggling with it, since I didn't quite know how to get the gist of what's in my head down into just a few lines on paper, but thinking of it as a to-do list where each point is a single scene really just changed everything for me! I'm going to go and finish my outline now since I have a better idea of what it is now compared to before... man, the universe really is giving me a kick in my behind to start writing already with this video lol😂

I loved writing songs but I never thought of it like a big deal and I didn't wrote a lot of them.
But last year that voice inside me told me that I should write songs for children. So I did. In the begging my goal was 40 songs and when I did that I realized that I'm gona write 20 more. Now I have a feeling that I will never be done, because there is so much to write about. 😄🥰

Thank you Universe. This come right in time. I have difficulties to sleep last night. I was thinking about exactly the same matter. I do my sketch everyday since Covid time until today. My work mostly A5 size or maks A4 and '5 minutes challenge' I do in a sketch book. In my communities push and push me and keep saying I must make bigger work. Now I have a reason to follow my own way. Thanks for the ideas and support.
