When our three children were young my husband, an engineer, asked me what my five year plan was. I said, "To keep up with the laundry." Some of us by nature or lifestyle are not goal oriented. Thank you, Danny, for making this okay.

Thank you so much Danny for putting yourself out there. There is so much value in what you have to say. I started drawing/sketching again after watching a single video of yours. You're magical. Thank you so much for helping me find my way back to art.

Thanks for the reminder to focus on the journey of creating and noton the final product. I prevent myself from starting projects because I don't have the finished idea in my mind from step one.

In my experience, you never really know where you'll end up. You might have an idea but many things can happen between starting something and finishing it, especially art. In my previous job as a course designer, I worked iteratively as often the training requirements or the target audience changed along the way.

I'm a software developer and an artist. Can verify that I'm not better at planning art even though I'm technically trained. I do like iterating though.
Most software developers do start with a plan. Actually a lot of work goes into the planning stage before any code is written because it takes a lot of time and money. However there is a feedback process where changes are made and bugs are fixed.

Ah, “MVP” you’re speaking my language of agile, nicely bridging my day job in IT with my art hobby.
I wish I could someday say my vision of what could be was less ambitious than how things turned out. Maybe someday. I don’t have a goal right now but I wish being an artist, making whatever I was moved to make, paid as well as IT management does. Bravo for making your dreams come true, Danny. :)

Hi Danny. I love listening to you talk. You seem to be able to express just how I feel. It's like you can see into my mind. I want to thank you for just being there and giving me the gentle support I need while letting me know that its even ok to produce less than perfect results. Thank you, from Kris.

Your very unique, and I must say very learned just as how we humans work. I've questioned as you asked one video why do I want to draw and I could just say when my eyes see an image my hands and body so weird feels such a desire to replicate or possibly my hands feel the need to follow and produce a image I identify with it's a strange answer I never asked myself that before so, thank you I have not been drawing since I graduated high school long time and I was happy and good well getting good back then, so just recently I've been writing I've always been writer too but just personal you know, but now I see the connection to every thing like even a lawyers I love law and I see the lawyer develops his material the case info and he has got to use that and the law is like the edges of paper so he has got to paint the story emotionally to people to deliver the defense or prosecution, and drawing there's light laws and depth and to draw is just the same it's amazing how many things in life we can't develop all of these because as you say repetition is the major key to just keep doing it. I regret I didn't know that then but I'm definitely going to take your advice. Thank you for hitting a cord within my thinking!!!

So today I started a project I've been thinking about as an encouragement for a friend. It looked great in my mind... actually, I declared it finished when I ultimately glued my fingers together. Not part of the plan. But the finished product is cool...I hope it serves it's purpose 🌈

Hey Mister Danny, I was wondering if you've ever tripped across a corner of The You Tube known as Cos Tube? There's this creator named Cathy Hay, her on-line historically & vintage & fantasy based/inspired sewing school/library/discord/live-mentoring called Foundations Revealed. Maybe you two could come up with a collaboration of some sort?
At this point sewing has resigned me to the idea of iterations. I started sewing just before lockdown started, so for my Covid time I taught myself how to sew. Only now, after taking some time away from it, am I starting to accept the fact that I'll very rarely hit it on the first mock-up/iteration. I'm only now starting to try to apply that process to the rest of my life. Seems I'm a bit of a slow learner.
