Actually they complete each other. As Procreate is mainly for drawing & illustration, with minimal anation capabilities. procreate dremas is relativily new with animaion at it's core, as it keeps getting new upgrades regulary to fix the issues it keeps having with updgrades. Love your videos, & I like this 1 a lot :)
It’s as simple as it gets. All you have to do is study for two weeks and practice every day. After 2 weeks of studying you’ll know what all of the tools are and their capabilities. Once you know that, your mind’s creativity does the rest. But you can’t expect it do do everything for you, you have to study
@@MILKCREATIVE-k5di agree! i’ve been animating on procreate dreams ever since it came out, but when i got the app i was so confused on how to use it, so studying the app for a while did make me better, it’s honestly as simple as flip a clip but more advanced
I just want to make 2D sprite sheets, and instead of redrawing all the sprite positions I'd rather use a rig with bones, which is why I'm interested. Blender also does it.
I use both, here's my answer: Procreate has easily the better drawing experience. The pen is incredibly responsive, where as in Dreams it sometimes takes a sec for the mark to appear (when you haven't touched the screen with the pen for a bit). Procreate also has way better transform. Both apps have uniform, free form, distort and warp options, but warp and distort in particular are noticeably more difficult in Dreams. In addition Procreate has liquify, a favorite of many digital artists, where as Dreams doesn't and will never have liquify. My biggest issue with Dreams is sometimes when I undo more than once in a row, white squares flash on the screen. This will probably be fixed eventually by an update, but it's there and I heard I'm not the only one who this happens to. It's kind of irritating to look at. Benefits of Dreams are the following: 1. Multiple timelines. Procreate has just a single timeline for animation and to have layers, each frame must be made into a separate folder. 2. Motion tweening. Dreams can auto-animate move, rotate and transform with velocity curves of your choice. You can even set pivot points for each timeline layer and make a simple 2d puppet. 3. Animating over audio and video. This is incredibly useful for lip-sync animation, or maybe you want to study animation by tracing and reviewing a clip from your favorite animated movie. If anything is unclear, don't hesitate to ask.
@@kwk111 I ended up buying both lol 😂 dreams is good but definitely lacks alot of art related needs other apps have. I haven't used procreate much it seems a little better but I can definitely say sketchbook on a galaxy tab is way better. it's more simplistic. free. the screen feels more like a drawing surface but I'll continue to use procreate and see how I go

Which One Is Better for what??
they are both completely different apps for different purposes
and one has been around longer
Thank you! Very informative!
my question is should I buy both or just dreams. what does procreate have that dreams doesn't?

Yes. That's what people do. Especially when your audience probably doesn't want to buy 2 programs.
