I've seen some testing around with Nash and done some myself. Here's few things I've found too that I thought were interesting. Also I uploaded a video on my channel with the combos I listed. Nash can combo LP TA out of his Jab Strong TC, which he couldn't do pre-patch. We're still finding stuff for EX TA but here are some of the new combos for EX TA I've seen: -After a VS2 LK Scythe in the corner -If you cancel a MK Scythe with VT1 -If you cancel EX TA into air VT1 you can do j.HK into EX TA -After a VS2 HK Scythe but you have to delay the EX TA a bit Looking forward to this series! I always love watching it.
I'm excited the most that Nash finally has a three frame button at the very least. V-Shift, although a universal buff, gives him the anti-bully tool he's desperately needed for so long. Now maybe I can keep some of my lunch money on wakeup because they now have to be just as cautious as they would be with a character that can threaten with a DP.
I don't know why he got any nerfs at all, especially to frame advantage stuff on his normals and target combos. Would it hurt to give Nash some cool punishing combos?
@@saviorofseals5111 they buffed him way more than the nerfs. they nerfed aspects of his moves that would be “to powerful” after the buffs. Although I agree he should have cool punishing combos, I can understand the devs decision making.
Just to add; EX tragedy assault leaves you closer, so if you bazooka knee after it you are +8 and in throw range. This is his strongest oki tool now as ex TA causes a hard knockdown so you dont have to worry about back roll and it's the only knockdown where you can do a shimmy just by walking back instead of meating a light and then walking back.
I played Nash on day one and man that guy is dead now. However these changes are good, I feel nothing special but at least he works well and is a decent character all around, still, nobody this side of bonchan will ever use it and is not even a guarantee that bonchan will (The guy in Singapore may do it tho)
I think the semi universal lingering hitboxes (I know some characters got it and some didn't) was to help incentivize using V-shift. Now we have moves to look out for to dodge.
The Ryu video hyped him up. But Nash is still eh.... Which is sad because his return one of the main reasons I bought SFV. Hopefully Lucia's changes hype her up. Kage is looking NOOOOICE.
Could've done without the Frd.Hp (it's already pretty high risk, so why nerf it) and Frd.Hk nerfs. Also think Wind Shear should've stayed +3 but overall, the good greatly outweighs the bad for Nash imo
@@AdversaryOne Yeah, it wasn't really good and I would've prefered it stayed +3 so Nash could get something off of his new 3-frame w/o having to spend resources. It is VT cancellable now, so you might get some cool stuff off of VT2 now
Love these vids and I already read the patch notes but as a Sagat main, it sucks I'm gonna be waiting a while before I see your video on the changes. The st.H Fireball buff is stupid and ridiculous.
I feel like giving Nash a 3 frame is a low key nerf, since they nerfed everything around with his target combo is a bit unnecessary. Now Nash has to commit to the wake up 3 frame to the rapid punch target combo. But everything else is a quality of life change for me.
Hell no . Giving him a 3 framer is a massive buff he needed that defensive option since he has none . Besides you don’t normally use the target combo that much anyway .
I think people arent playing nash right. he has all the tools. full screen projectiles, specials that avoid projectiles, vskill 1 that nulls projectiles, vt 1 that avoids and switches sides. He has half-screen length CC punch and another lengthy front kick. all of his moves hit crouched opponents, most of his combos are guaranteed. And when it comes to damage in his combos, play him like chun-li and aim for a stun. I dont see what he lacks.
hey are you planning season 5 sakura vid? she got few things but im not sure if they're enough to make a vid, I'm a silver sakura player and I'm learning how to get good
All the plus frames in the world doesn't matter if your walkspeed is like a turtle and you don't have other means to close in the gap. Nash needs faster walkspeed, he's probably bottom 5 right now imo because of his keepout getting nerfed and not being able to stay at up-close range by other means.
Nash players down play him so hard, he's now one of the better mid tier characters, probably in the top 20. He didnt get the Ryu treatment but his new 3 frame and frame traps are super strong. VT2 is still ass tho
I’d probably still argue that Nash is still low tier or low mid tier . It’s too soon to say anything tho it will depend on how good V shift is for him Edit : the frame traps don’t help him much he already had one with cr mp into b mk
@@brucechencool frametraps help a bunch, he can do crouch jab to crouch mp frametrap and if he gets ch he can vs1 on reaction and link a back mk for huge damage. And yes I think he's probably somewhere from 15-20, maybe top 25
@@TheRedhairshanx Yeah but the VS1 additional damage is nice . But cr jab into cr mp was already a frame trap , the new frame trap is cr mp into st mp which I see what you mean now it can be linked into VS1 for more damage thats true. But I dont think that alone is worth the nerfs to Nash's normals. Edit : If Nash's normals didn't get nerfed he'd probably be mid tier maybe even high tier if V shift works really well for him
@@brucechencool crouch jab into crouch medium is a new frametrap, the patch made crouch jab plus 3 on block and crouch medium is 6 frames. I agree that they probably shouldnt have nerfed his buttons, but people are downplaying nash hard, he is so much better and is actually better than a good chunk of the cast
I don’t want to hear anything from Alex players. Capcom hates Nash. Honestly he wouldn’t even be as much of a problem now just reverted him to season 1. They killed the character s2 and every season since then they spit on his grave for being too fun in s1.
I was SO on board with all the changes I have seen so far and then they NERF Nash? Why the fuck would you nerf the worst character in the game? Nobody is playing him anyway
Im not a great player, im a platinum Nash but i really think he is worse now... His sweep was a great move to use after a blockstring, now you cant do it because its unsafe. Fwd+HP was a great move if you spaced it correctly, now it is punishable with sweeps pretty easly. Before the changes you were able to use vskill1 at close range to build V meter, because spaced correctly it were safe, now its not safe anymore because its -5 and it pulls. Lk, mk target combo is worse now because you cant end with a knockdown as before (this target combo should be special cancelable but capcom is retarded af). Vt2 is nice now, but you are not going to use it, you need v-shift because still... He doesn't have a reversal. For some reason now you cant do this combo unless you hit the first hit as near to the ground as possible: jHP, crHP, stMP, L Boom. This means that your max combo damage with vt1 is not possible anymore. In conclussion, i think his neutral tools were nerfed and his frame traps were buffed in a patch where v-shift exist, nice joke capcom. Also his ex moonsault due to his extremely slow startup and animation it will be hella punishable after vshifting it, so pretty useless.
I remember people in streams would yell at me for sweeping after a string. I loved it because it caught them off guard 50% of the time and it was relatively safe due to the pushback beforehand. It's gonna be a hard habit to break.
Everything you are complaining about is good for you in the long run because you have been using his normals incorrectly in my opinion. You need to use back Mk in your block strings if you want to combo into booms. Rapid kick is not really used at high level anyways, it was more for low level players. Capcom wants you to think before you act. If you notice most characters got their big normals nerfed on recovery.
Baf you're a fucking trooper for doing 40 of these
