the anti air HP shoryuken change is cool and all but I really wish we got something off anti air LP DP. HP feels not really that great at the ranges tend to want to jump at anyways
Most chars don't need a tier shift lol, I'd say the only character I've looked at so far who got a little screwed is Nash, but he might benefit a LOT from v-shift. SFV has pretty good balance.
@@larsu-gx579 Well it’s mostly V shift that changes things up. It’s less than a week old so people don’t know how the meta will change around it but it’s a huge, universal change.
Great video like always. The proverb "bird in hand" for using level 3 VT2 vs many level 1 VT2, although totally applicable, I think is unnecessarily obtuse. It's a risk reward for guaranteed damage now versus potential damage later. I always enjoy your content. Keep it up!
A shame only like Ryu, Balrog, Bison, Gill, are some of the biggest buffs was really hoping Kage and Zangief got more prominent buffs to make them better. But they are still fun to play.
The fireball change is huge. Ken now goes from having to be a bit crazy to win to being able to consistently zone. RIP big bodied characters and others who struggle against zoning
I always really like to Ken but I play third strike so I'm used to a movement heavy game. He's like the most footsie and Spacey oriented character that doesn't have a whole lot of long reaching normals he moves really quickly and converts really well
The Super Change was so Ken wouldn't get DP'D out of his Super if they went for Raw Super to Chip. It still has abysmal Invincibility so people just need to either EX/Super/V Shift to avoid that situation now
They did GREAT with them buffs. ESPECIALLY the 2 frame quicker Hadoekens, which have been a boon since season 2. 👏👏👏 The HP crush counter is pretty needless, since they could have just made it whiff on crouching opponents instead, and trade on opponents from midrange.
Ken was in the position where he didnt need to be nerfed AT ALL and he needed the buffs the buffs he got were needed AND actually good. the nerfs he got were unnecessary and unneeded.
I don't even play shotos and even I know ken's shinryuken should of had AA properties from the start... It had AA properties in literally every game it was in.
They really needed to do SOMETHING about his EX divekick. It is just not a good use of one bar. There are so many other things they could have done like shave a frame off his b.mp or increase the cancel window from s.mp. I guess some buffs are better then nothing but this just feels half assed.
Weird they didn't touch VS2 at all. I don't care about buffing characters to the moon. Giving characters more fun tools to work with is more important imo.
TBH I think VS2 is really good already even considering you lose a lot of important stuff with no run. It's surprisingly hard to stop ken from doing random VS2s in neutral lol
@@Bafael I suppose. I was thinking more along the lines of getting something off of CC HK, since it's such an important button for him. We'll see how relevant it stays with vshift around now. Especially trying to get away with a charged one. At least they're always making VT2 stronger. I find VT installs that just buff specials is pretty boring.
You can cancel into VS1 like a trigger (i.e. from almost all attacks) but you can only cancel into VS2 like a special move. St HK doesn't special cancel.
Baf. Dude. Get a new mic! One with some bass range, or at least- use proximity effect to round out your sound. The bad audio on your videos betray their great quality, and your own expertise. Seriously! I bet you'd bet at least twice as many people would be checking out your stuff, watching longer, and most importantly- absorbing the information you have to give them twice as better, and in greater volume if you improved the quality of your voice overs. Dooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit Ah! Also, I forgot to mention why it's hard to listen to for extended periods of time. Because there is barely any mid-range, and no bass, it *seems* quieter than it actually is to the human ear. It isn't, but because we don't hear higher frequencies as well (treble range) it's harder for us to "hear", so we have to turn the audio up (to hear more mid-range/bass). However, because we're not only turning up just the mid-range, we're also turning up the high-end, it causes "ear fatigue". It can become physically painful as well, which is apparent if you've ever tried to listen to loud music for an extended period of time, in say a car with shitty speakers. The treble almost feels like it's "cutting" your ear drums, or it becomes so distorted, it's a weird kind of painful. Which btw, (and in case you didn't already know) the obvious question here is, "why not turn up just the mid range then?" and the answer to that, would be; that's what an Equalizer does. Problem with that though, is EQ's are much, much worse at increasing frequencies and maintaining signal quality, than they are cutting problem frequencies without any "collateral damage". Solution: better mic, with more dynamic range. PS "thin" VO quality is why you have to keep the game audio so low, and why it drowns your voice out so easily- there's no mid-range/bass frequencies in your voice, so there's toooons of space for the game audio (which has those frequencies in spades) to occupy. Thus, rendering your VO's "quieter".
This is nice and all but....They didn't do anything to VS2? They didn't think about his cvs2 kick at all? And I agree that he needs a +3 normal, Back strong would have been ok for that since the range is so short.
until everyone option selects everything out of the game I feel like this is going to be a lot better than all the previous versions I personally had a lot of fun with season 2 and season 1 when a lot of people didn't so I'm a little different
All characters that can do FB should have sufficient recovery so that jump in's to punish should not be so hard. Every fb character should have a minimum of 47-50 frames recovery at the very least.
i never needed ken to be as strong as anyone else... just make him feel like he works... and that they succeeded.
THIS lol
nah ken players are the enemy keep him bad
Makes me wonder how much they factor pick rate into these changes vs testing. Ken must have huge pick rate online.
And yet CA will still whiff on a lot of combos ending in DP where you cancel the second hit...
Disagree
The only other buff Ken needed to compete with Ryu was a buff to his face and hair.
We honestly have to appreciate the amount and the quality of the content his pushing out rn
Thanks :)
Hell yeah. He just needs a better VO quality!! The ear fatigue is reeeeeeeal
