    I love the front pouch not opening all the way, avoids dumping things out when getting into the pouch while standing and opening bag when on the go!

      A good point! I’m sure more people agree with you on that.

    Nice but you missed two important points, the first you did not put it on you and the second the little loop in the bottom is used to hold a MAGNETIC STABILIZER STRAP.

    This was great. Was trying to find a review on this item also that just didn't talk about the same stuff. The lack of clam shell and seeing you fuss around with the flaps just for the camera was really insightful. Great job and thanks man.

    I actually like that the front pocket doesn’t zip open all the way as I think most people would be accessing their bag while having it on and standing up. And the last thing I’d want is for everything to spill out.
    Secondly, I’m pretty sure the strap comes off the bag just in case you want the shoulder pad to be on the other shoulder.

    I did agree with you on the removable strap, but when I wanted to Frankenstein the strap from another alpaka sling to make the strap longer...I can appreciate the ability to take it on and off.

    Does the laptop and ipad pocket touch the bottom or is it suspended as to not damage the tech when put on hard ground?

    • @ThePerfectBag

      If I remember correctly, yes. This one is suspended, but not as much as the best in class backpacks are. But some degree of protection.

    The shoulder strap isn’t sewn in because it’s intended to be reversible for ambidextrous carry. Sewing it in would have limited it to only one shoulder, which sucks for lefties like me. Thanks for the review.

    • @ThePerfectBag
      @ThePerfectBag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a good point! Wonder how difficult it is to offer different versions like maxpedition does….

    • @Away.Aweigh.A.Way.
      @Away.Aweigh.A.Way. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThePerfectBag I’m willing to bet that the issue wouldn’t be whether or not they could make it, but that they’d have to figure out what quantities to stock. Maxpedition is huge compared to a small brand like Alpaka. Much smarter business decision to make an ambidextrous strap than to have two different product lines and inevitably end up having to put one of them on back order and the other on clearance sale.

    man, still deciding if I want this to carry my iPad Pro 12.9“ or if I think that this is too big for a sling bag…I own and love my Aer Day Sling 2 Max XPAC and normally this kind of sling is the maximus size I‘d like to carry, but it obviously doesn’t fit a 12.9“ iPad…

    Hello Wanderer! I can't say how much I appreciated your help back when I was searching for the perfect EDC sling. You went out of your way to provide me with some amazing suggestions. I ended up going with the the Aer Day Sling 3 then up to the Bellroy 9l. My latest purchase was the new Alpaka air sling v2. I didn't think I would like the flap design but after watching some of the videos, I think it'll be a good fit. I've certainly fallen down the EDC rabbit hole. I got the bag and I would say I don't recommend it for two major issues
    - IDK who thought it was good idea to have metal zipper pulls they make an insane amount of noise when you move I replaced mine with plastic ones but I damaged one zipper on main pocket it annoyed the @#$% out of me
    - the main pocket will get smaller the more you fill the front pocket which is extremely annoying, it says 10L if you fill the front pocket you can't even fill 4L, so the front pocket are useless if use more than 2 it will just eat from the main pocket

    • @jacobfreed5060
      @jacobfreed5060 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if you fill the front full and it cuts into the main compartment you’re still getting your 10L of storage. Bag measurements for volume take all pockets into consideration. So honestly that’s not a fair point in my opinion cause it sounds like you’re asking for 10L in the main area PLUS extra liters in the other pockets. If that makes sense.

    Complaining about a removable strap is very... nitpicky? A removable strap objectively is better cus when the sew on strap fails (like it always will do vs buckles) you're have a busted bag you now need to either fix yourself or get fixed vs the durability of a removable.

      I have this sling and I share his feelings about the strap becoming significantly more substantial and abit clumsy with the buckles. That said, someone already explained why bc reversing allows the padding to accommodate the side youre wearing it
