Love these cars! They are definitely iconic. And I think the challenge of making something with the aerodynamics of a cow barn go fast, appeals to a lot of drag racers.
Excellent content! These cars originally gave me the horsepower fever. My father had a 55' Chevy with a tilt front end, 327 SBC , it was featured in car craft magazine. Every time I build a shoebox now it makes me wonder how some of the younger generation doesn't want muscle cars, this is real racing.
Luv'd ever minute of it fellas!! Thanks very much for putting it together and sharing just before Christmas. Even tho there's gobs a footage of it out there I was kinda hoping to see a couple pass's by Ron Crook's bad to tha bone AA/G '55 "Blu by You",, that sum bisch is tri 5 to the MAX!
@catmodelt Yes, I went to Oswego drag strip (and Byron drag strip), remember seeing E.J. Potter, the Michigan Madman, at Oswego and Hurst Hemi Underglass there!
Good stuff rite here fellas, recon that fella who manhandles his '55 as it took him a "joy slide" thru tha weeds had a pucker factor of 20 -- ON A SCALE OF 0 - 10! (in other words he broke tha pucker string!) AWESUM video!
makes me miss my first car. A 57 chevy 2 door poster, three speed top shifter, 4.11, 283, .o60 bore, duntov cam, two fours, and headman headers, I was hard to beat in 1962, for the first five hundred feet....
Which one was my favorite? All of 'em, lol. Actually, Blasphemi was my favorite, I watched as the 426 Hemi was installed. That's one nice piece of work.
Those were the days I miss my 55 what a ride it was built to the max competition orange just a beautiful car I kick myself in the butt for selling it........
This is kinda like porno for old guys like me, go back. play, go back, play. That '55 orange wagon looked like a bullet off the line. I had a '57 in the late '60s with a 283, solid lifter cam and if the tach was accurate it would wind to 7000 RPM no sweat and I didn't have any mercy on it. It was a damn screamer!
I had a 55 competition orange with a 283 solid lifter cam 327 fuelie heads dual-point Corvette ignition built brand new from the ground up those were the days
All dragstrips should be 1/4 mile again. 1/8 miles not a race. My opinion anyway. Still lots of 1/4 mile tracks it's lots more fun running 1/4 mile tracks. looks like a couple of good tracks in the video.
At 3:08, isn't that the wagon that Dom Lagana crashed and lost his legs in? On the street, not wearing seatbelts, and with professional drag racers who should have known better?
The 55 that ended up in the weeds got lucky. Glad it stayed rubber side down.

Those were the days my friend , I thought they'd never end ,
I love that old song too!
I could watch Tri fiv chevys race all day long, cant wait to get my 57 427 powered rocket ready!
These are the best kinds of races. Keep it coming!!
I don't think some people realize how much torque it takes to pull the front wheels of a 3000 pound vehicle off of the ground. Love it!
Awesome videos keep up the excellent work we always love classic cars and watching drag racing
Smokin Hot 57! Love the 57 v. 30's T Bucket
The weight distribution on 55 56 57 chevys were superb you can drop in any motor and haul ass
Long live these chevys. God bless
Beautiful cars. This is a true love affair between car owners and their cars. I had a "55" white monster Chevy before it quit on me.
Ronnie from southeast gasser's ?
I'm 63 years old and remember when these cars roamed the streets. Those were the days!
US 30 in Illinois. Year 1968. What a blast!
Man that thing comes on like gangbusters after the 1/8. Pretty dagum awesome 👍
👍👍👍👍👍!!! Grew in 60's, Elgin, Il. Loved "the cars" cruising downtown, "American Grafitti" al the way!!!
Bob Falfa's (Harrison Ford) 55 Chevy in American Graffiti is one of the 3 cars used to film Two Lane Blacktop.

At 1:47 is when you realize just how fast these cars are going. Sometimes on a TV screen a nice straight run doesn't look all that fast
The way the white Chevy threewheels coming off the line would make some lowriders jealous. lol
LOVE IT!!!
Beautiful tri 5s love the orange 🍊 nomad
What's in the orange 57 wagon? Man!
It's a 55
Think I liked that orange 55 gasser, except for the ridiculous blower scoop. And of course the black 57 was beautiful.
That solid Orange Chevy station wagon is fast.
That looks like my old 57 Chevy!
this shit is dope great video

Tri-Fives Forever. Amen!!!!!!

I guess insurance at racetracks has something to do with it. I've only raced on 1/4 mile myself.1/8 It kind of limits top speeds.
@catmodelt Adopted? interesting that you point that out.
Some of the best tracks are 1/8 mile.
Contact us if you'd like media credentials for the Midwest Drags. June 1st - 5th 2020.
Glad to see Blasphemi in there.
At 3:08, isn't that the wagon that Dom Lagana crashed and lost his legs in? On the street, not wearing seatbelts, and with professional drag racers who should have known better?
The tracks where people are standing off to the side with no wall should be closed down or fix the problem.
Blasphemi 🤘🏼🤘🏼
2:55 Blasphemi
11:53 I bet there was a few pairs of muddy undies on that one dam
This made me very happy
Show 🏁🇧🇷

GR 8 ONE. THANX
I hate 1/8 mile racing!
I'd like to see a race car named BAD HOMBRE
Some of these dragstrips offer very little protection for the spectators.
Is it just me, or does anyone else play this video loud while using the restroom ,to help camouflage loud farts?
Just you.
@@randallmcinnis117 oh
@@randallmcinnis117 you made me blush

Hi all my own biological Daddy's out there racing
Dang video ant worth a crap if you people don't show all the E.T. s
Take it to a house
A lot of these cars have poor suspensions
I hate 1/8mile drags. 1320 or nothing
You're an idiot then.
These r old heavy cars.
You clearly don't know anything about cars.
1/8 mile, waste of my time!
Than go away.
your a waste of are time
Those people down range at 1:45...🫣💩☠️
