In high school, I used to listen to shortwave radio and every station that I was able to hear, I put a pin on a map on my wall. It was really cool to see all the far away places that I listened to.
Radios like this are a great prep. When its go time its not time to shop. The stylish hand loop and the Chinglish are bonuses! 😂 I like that spool antennae!
@mreverybody1150 just as good as each other, but the LC90 has some more features, use it as a bluetooth speaker and the intenet radio etc , I'm happy with both of them 😎👍
You can listen to Shortwave radio from a bunker? Or you got an MLA 30+ antenna or any antenna? apparently you can use voice to ask for a radio station with this device by pressing the LANG button
Yes not bad almost has what I want but no RDS with FM it seems and yes those antenna / USB / headphone sockets definitely should have been on the left side ! Bizarre to me they are not
@@WorldMoneyWins Lucky you, mine sounds garbled SW, and stations over lapsing each others, even after firmware update, Not worth the money, seen much better and cheaper, like Grundig
Don't be surprised if you don't hear anything. The ionosphere has been on strike since the spring equinox and will probably return after the fall equinox. Check Solarham for the daily propagation reports.
@@WorldMoneyWins Typically, you will hear stations in the 49, 41, and 31 meter bands in the summer, and all the way to the 11 meter broadcast band in the winter.
Unfortunately not. This is basically a bluetooth speaker when used to stream from your phone/computer. It would need transmit capability to do that I believe, and this is only a receiver.
@@WorldMoneyWins In that case, you could always buy a Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver, Wireless Aux Bluetooth Adapter 3.5mm and plug that in to the earphone socket. Then you would receive the audio through the Bluetooth speaker!
Yeah, I can get BBC world service, LBC radio, and about 40 other stations. That would be through the Wi-Fi. Over shortwave I probably could, but I would have to do it at the middle of the night with a bigger antenna

That sounds like it would be fun to do even today.
Waiting for it to be offered by Amazon here in Germany.
That my friend was the first jerassic park movie. The boy was using the night vision goggles
Exactly! :-)
Wasn't that line from one of the Jurassic Park movies?
It was. I just remembered it was in the car when they found the industrial strength flashlight

Couldn't agree more! People seem to wait till the last minute to buy stuff like this
SouthEast Stacker is into radio too. Looks like fun! Cool share.
Thanks! Its pretty fun to scan around the waves.
I’m from the UK ,I have just ordered a choyong lc90 ,, I also have a Malahit DPS2 😎👍
WOW! That DPS would be awesome to play with! I really like my PL-660 for the SSB reception. :-)
Isn't the Malahit better than the LC90, or does everything already?

for shortwave the Mala will be better for scanning the bands I'm sure. They should send me one to check out. LOL
Nice radio 📻
Thanks! Still learning how to use
It

I need to get an MLA for the roof. The walls of my building are too thick.

It was an odd design putting them on the knob side for sure!
Have you tested the SW? Coz its not good at all to me and others.
It works OK. I need a better antennae, and the reception is a lot better at night.

Nothing beats my PL 660 though. Tecsun makes some good stuff
@@WorldMoneyWins Yeah, they have new PL 880 now, thanks bud.
My pleasure man. The reception on SSB is better on the 660 over the 880, or 990. I think it has the best SSB of any radio on the market at any price.

Thanks for the tip! I can still pick up the religion channels and closer stations.

Nice Radio. Is it possible to connect to an external Bluetooth speaker with this radio? 2 way Bluetooth? Thank you very much.

Does it connect to headphones BT
No, you can use the wired headphones, or you can use this radio actually as a Bluetooth speaker from your cell phone streaming apps
YOU NEED TO HAVE INTERNET WIFI AT HOME TO LISTEN TO THE STATIONS ON THAT MENU BUT IN CASE OF A CRISIS LITTLE OR NOTHING OF THAT WILL WORK.
@@georgewilliama.4762 Yes. You would have to just use the shortwave radio on it in that case.
will china be listing to what we listen :)
