The 2024 #kyderby was the 12th race at Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 4, and Mystik Dan nipped Sierra Leone by a nose, with Forever Young another nose back in third. Catching Freedom and T O Password completed the Super High 5.

Liking Mindframe to stalk and finish in the Haskell. Hopefully he won't drift in the stretch This time. IMO the one to beat.
I agree that Mindframe is the one to beat in the Haskell. If he runs a more professional race, he could easily turn the tables on Dornoch.

I like a horse with speed to get position, a high cruising speed, endurance to sustain that speed, turn of foot, and an innate will to win. My only worry is the break and the trip, not any of the contenders. Dornoch, from on or off the pace, will win and stamp himself as the leader for 3 year old champion.
Dornoch is a logical contender in the Haskell. We will see if he can put back-to-back Grade 1 wins together. This 3-year-old division is without a leader and someone needs to step up at some point.

@@charleslockhart6778 Dornoch did step up. Props to him and his connections for having him ready to run another big race. For the third time in the stakes ranks, he dug in and turned away challengers. The Travers is shaping up as one heck of a race.
Big Boy Dornoch is my pick. Early presser with grit, endurance and tenacity in the stretch. Go Dornoch. 2nd Mindframe, 3rd Timberlake. Safe ride for all horses and jockeys. I'll take another look race day.

@@charleslockhart6778 I am he has been my horse all year. Unfortunately, I was busy all day Saturday and my husband was not able to find a Trifecta bet ugh... We did bet Dornoch. I saw him win Belmont at Saratoga and what an experience that was. We bet him then too. I hear he's going to stud in a few months. What a horse!
I see a tight pack with Dornoch, Timberlake and Sea Streak vying for the early lead at a reasonable pace with a superfecta ultimately consisting of Dornoch, Mindframe, Fierceness and Timberlake. The winner will obviously be the best at 1 1/8 miles come Saturday. I'll be rooting for Dornoch. As we saw in the Remsen and Belmont, he does not like to be passed. If one horse can do it, I think it's Mindframe.
Dornoch does seem to have some fight in him. That is something that Fierceness is lacking up to this point. Mindframe is the one to fear most. We have not seen his best yet.
@@JarrodHorak Good point. Mindframe smoked his maiden 7F race on 1:21 and change. He could run away with the Haskell.
@@Laughlin007 I trust Mindframe more than the other Haskell hopefuls. He should make a good account of himself on Saturday.
Mindframe has improved all 3 races,, 2nd in row in New York with Pletcher/Irad will be a tough customer
Mindframe is my pick. I am in the process of uploading my final Haskell video now.
Dornoch, Mindframe running one, two again. Fierceness is a dead pool.
A repeat of the Belmont Stakes exacta is possible. Mindframe has the most upside and is probably the one to beat.
Fierceness on top at very high favoritism

Fierceness had a Bullet workout but U didn't tell us his time 😶
Fierceness had a bullet on June 28. 5f in 1:01 flat on the dirt training track at Saratoga. it was the best of 7 works. He has worked twice since that move.

@@JarrodHorak he seems due to win if he follows his " pattern " - plus he's had plenty of time to rest up & he's proven at 1 1/8 of a mile.
@@willmorrisusa You are right about the pattern. If it continues, Fierceness should run a much better race in the Haskell.

Is Sierra Leone training well as far as you can tell? Off topic regarding the Haskell. I'm looking forward to Sierra getting back in the win column.
Sierra Leone appears to be training forwardly since the Belmont. Another good work this week and he will probably go in the Jim Dandy.
If he runs like a real trainable non-drunk racehorse is supposed to Mindframe will have no problem with Dornoch.
Mindframe's erratic stretch run in the Belmont may have been caused by his lack of experience along with the 1 1/4 miles distance in just his third start. I agree that he has every right to turn the tables on Dornoch if he runs a more professional race.
