Yes I agreed with cruise control. It is very hard to compete with the vehicle's cruise control vs yourself. I have tried and it always beat me in fuel efficiency.
Great points! When we travel we make our breakfast( always take a camp stove with), sometimes we will eat out for supper. We also pack plenty of snacks and drinks, even for a dy trip,
Foot long Subway sandwich, with all of the veggies. Half for lunch, half for dinner. 6 dollars or less per meal. Plus fresh fruit or nuts, that pushes the cost up a few dollars more.
I’m sorry but adding a 2 gallon rotp pak on a small vehicle won’t really help, you are losing any “Gain” because of weight. I’d recommend putting that cost of the roto pak into your gas budget. You will get more miles! Good video Kate!
That's a good point. Do you think the weight of 2 gallons of gas would affect your mpg that much? The cost of a rotopak definitely could buy a couple tanks of gas! So I totally agree with your point there. I personally like having an extra gas can with me just to have in case of emergency when out in more remote places. It only gives me an extra 30 miles or so, but that can help sometimes. So if I'm going to have it with, might as well fill it at cheaper stops.
@@WanderwithKate @WanderwithKate you are right it probably wouldn't effect it that much, but it is extra weight. I do think having extra gas is important too.A few years ago I went on a long road trip in the UP of Michigan and had extra gas. so I get it. I just wish the roto pax weren't so expensive!
Me too! But I don't love having a gas can inside the truck camper with me. If you find any budget friendly alternatives to Roto Pax, please let me know. I haven't purchased one yet...

Traveling with a camp stove is a great way to make warm meals on the go!

I'll have to consider eating more Subway on my next road trip!

Awesome tips for sure. Gas here now is about $7.40 Canadian per gallon 😢.
