  • The cultivation of morel has fascinated mankind for more than 130 years. Many have tried to grow them outdoors as well as indoors. But they failed.
    Now it seems that the Chinese found a method which is working - at least for the outdoor cultivation of morels. But new challenges are on the horizon.
    These and more I want to address in today’s video.

    I'm from Chile, here it grows in the south, in nothofagus forests and pine forests (where there used to be native forests) in the Andes mountain range and on the Coast. From the Bio-Bio region to Aysén. I am an agronomy student at the University of Concepción and I am delighted with this science, I have Morchella esculenta spores to cultivate. The truth is, I am very grateful to you because you help me a lot in my thesis for the degree exam. I hope to be a contribution like you with my experiment.
    In Chile, the presence of M. conica (Mujica et al., 1980) has been reported in the Araucanía region, and of M. esculenta in the Biobio and Araucanía regions (InnovaArauco 2012).

    There are another important questions:
    Are the micelium in the grain spawn haploid (monosporal) or diploid (clonation)?
    If the nutrition bag is placed 15 days after planting on the bed and it is in November, the month that the Chinese say. If the harvest is in March or April, the nutrition bag is more than 120 days in the bed. It does not correspond to the 75 days that Chinese studies say.
    And third issue, it may be a genetically modified strain that does not exist in the wild.

    • @ImproveMushroomCultivation
      @ImproveMushroomCultivation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      According to the Chinese study, the nutrition bag is depleted after 40-45 days and can then be removed.

    • @jaimesarrion
      @jaimesarrion 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ImproveMushroomCultivation ok, interesant, thank you very much...and do you think that are haploid culture?

    • @ImproveMushroomCultivation
      @ImproveMushroomCultivation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jaimesarrion The debate among researchers is still ongoing. But it seems it is likely to be haploid.

    • @haotan4474
      @haotan4474 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@ImproveMushroomCultivation I am the Chinese author. The mycelium in the grain spawn is diploid. We used a haploid culture only for whole-genome sequencing. It is not a genetically modified strain. In fact, you can get any morel strain fruiting very easily using the "exogenous nutrient bag" method if you can guarantee that the strain belongs to any of the Morchella importuna/M. sextelata/M. eximia species. You can try to hunt the three species from wild forests and make your own culture.

      Hello, and thanks for reaching out. ENB stands for Exogenous Nutrient Bag. Through this bag, the cultivator provides local sources of high nutrients for the mycelium. These readily available nutrients trigger then the primordia formation.

If you’re not happy with the video format and the information shared then go educate yourself and pay for courses and actual education! It baffles me to see comment like these from people who believe information is just due to them and don’t even make any effort to actually learn!
