The zoom problem with youtube came with the last update. Everything was working fine before that.

That TH-cam bug is happening on my Galaxy S10e as well. Guess it's an app problem, nothing to do with the phone itself

That TH-cam pinch to full screen will work when you enable or disable the dark mode. Every time you face issue, switch the mode from quick toggle and it will instantly work, just a work around until it's get fixed

I think that TH-cam bug is on the TH-cam end. Getting the same here on my Note 20 Ultra
Oneplus 8T is waterproof. it just doesn't have an IP rating but you can hold it under water for some time. Just look at some other videos.
Yes the oneplus guy covered this in a video for the Nord. He said the IP rating is just a standard companies follow.

3:13 I think this is a bug for many phones. My pixel 3 wont zoom in at times. Maybe its a bug in TH-cam

Thank you for this video. Verified that I need to look elsewhere for my OnePlus 5T replacement. I truly need a great camera setup with flat screen (no curves) and although I highly considered the iPhone 12 Pro Max, I may hold off a little longer for the next Samsung and OnePlus offerings in January and March, respectively.
I had the same software bug in YT on my Pixel 4a running Android 11.

Also, I experience the same bug you experienced but on my K20 pro. I think it's with youtube. Try doing it on a different aspect ratio vid and you can pinch to zoom while on a standard one, it won't. I tried doing a factory reset checking if it will work again, but it didn't.
Now it's working again, I don't know what I did but it just went back and is okay
Yes, I'm getting the same thing on my Galaxy Note 10 Plus! It must be an app bug. Hopefully they send out an update soon as it is very frustrating!

Had exactly the same TH-cam bug on my OP7TPro. Fixed recently by joining the beta version. Not sure if it fixed for the regularly one. But I also tried unistalling all TH-cam updates and it worked, so it really is a software quirk
Nice review Kevin 👍🏿, I just bought a OP 8t..it a different experience from my s20 plus (wifey phone). The swipe gestures are nice and the haptics remind me of knocking on a wooden blocks..it's the sound lol. But so far the phone works great. This is my 2nd OP my first was the 6t model..good stuff really.
How are you finding the oneplus compared to the s20 plus.?
@@JackHackett1 Well the battery life to me is better on the S20. My wifey is a Instagram/tic tock mad woman.. And I use my 8t pretty extensively..texts, news, stuff. She always has more life (battery)at the end of the day. Love them both...really 😅

I have noticed the TH-cam zoom, also trying to open links in youtube doesn't always open.
When i bought the 8t, i had the youtube zoom issue. After 2 weeks i found it fixed by update.

Great review. Here in Europe the base model 8 pro is discounted to around the same price as the 8t at the moment. I'd buy it in a heartbeat (cameras much better than 8t) if it weren't for that darned curved screen! Hopefully the 9 pro will have a flat screen. Samsung have finally realised that people don't like curved screens and have toned theirs down a lot.

Why are you coming from a 11 pro max, may I ask? Doesn't make sense, I use an iphone XS and would love to know.
@@fbkensarhd5279 why doesn't it make sense? Historically I was an Android user, but around Android 9, the whole gesture and night mode deal was such a mess that it became a deal breaker. At that time I was testing iOS 13 beta on my work phone and I liked where Apple was going for the first time in a long, long time, a direction that has improved further with iOS 14.
The problem for me with the 11 Pro Max was that it had such shitty modems that I got fed up with not having WiFi connection at my room when my wife's old OnePlus 6 was having no problem. The iPhone 12 finally was in a position to fix that, now that they use Qualcomm modems, but in my country that phone is 50% more expensive than the 8t with half the storage. It just didn't make sense, so I decided to sell my Pro Max and bought my 8t, a better phone overall, much cheaper, with money to spare... I couldn't be happier. Now that I had a chance to use Android again, I love how much it has matured, Android 11 is simply superior to iOS 14 in my opinion.

Rocking with one plus 5 for the last 3 1/2 years. Charging has been an issue and the audio jack as well, otherwise, nothing to complain about.

Ayyy I'm rocking the oneplus 6 for over 2 years now and it's still going strong (except for the battery that I replaced with a new one)
And performance wise it still runs like on the first day, suuuper smoooth
can’t wait for this beast to be delivered. purchased the 12/256GB brand new for ~$492 here in the Philippines the other day. This might replace my s21U as my daily driver, not really using the cameras lol

Love my 7t, honestly not a huge difference to the 8t. Only got it due to half off. Son uses my 7t now. Screen is better on 8t, gets brighter and I have more memory and ram. Don't really notice it though.

Oneplus has way better software and will run for years as fast as day one
for me I hate oneplus 8t because it really fools people with camera.
the camera isn't good actually it's because of display of phone photos look good.
when you upload oneplus 8t cam photos in insta or WhatsApp stories pics looks blur when some one viewing on other phones.
that is because oneplus 8t do some cheeting trick using there display tricks.
i go with mi 10t pro bcoz of low cost as well as true camera... and it last as long as 7 years and miui updates new features before android have that.
Should I buy the s20 or the 8t
The only issue with the camera I have is that it doesn't auto zoom in some apps. It's almost impossible to deposit checks using it and I go back to my one plus 6t to do it.
I love the battery on this thing, where I work had horrible service so it will switch between 5g and 4g all day, but even still I'll get 7+hours of screen on time daily, 23+ hours between charges and it charges so fast. The apps that kill the battery the fastest are all the ones with no dark mode and highly bright backgrounds.
Had to pause after that intro to type this and give a 👍🏾 and like.
I'm still having the youtube problem it does it on other content from different platforms to on my OnePlus 8

I'm using a Galaxy S10 want to upgrade cause the battery life is really bad . My options are Oneplus 8T or Galaxy S20 FE or iPhone 11 . I use my Galaxy S10 at 1080p only, never really went for the 2k res options. The place where i live in the Samsung phones only sell Exynos version. Which phone should i buy?
I've always read that Exynos versions of Samsung phones are not as reliable as the Snapdragon variants. Also, I have an S10 and an iPhone 11 Pro, and I just purchased the 8T and will be getting rid of my 11 Pro. I am tired of Apple and bored with iOS. Since iOS 14, my iPhone has been glitching non-stop. I bought the T-Mobile version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and it's a beast. Cameras are good and I actually like the shots better than I do the ones coming from my S10 (at least on the front camera). Back camera doesn't capture as much detail as my S10, but that's why I will be keeping it as well. I'd say go for the 8T if you want a phone with excellent performance, screen, and build quality and a camera that will get you through well in most situations.

I’ve never owned a single oneplus device, but this one almost got me. Till I hear multiple reviews saying the camera quality isn’t the best. My number one expected feature in a phone is the camera quality. Next is battery. But I can’t do it if the photography and videography isn’t on par. Maybe they’ll nail it in the next one.
Great review. I waited 3+ years to upgrade from my beloved 5T, which has been the best phone I've ever owned. I was going to pre-order the 9 Pro on launch day last month but after watching a bunch of reviews, I felt kind of underwhelmed by the whole Hassleblad camera offering. All that hype and all we got in the 9 pro was some "color science" by Hassleblad which was limited to the pro mode of the camera only too. It just didn't seem worth the $1100~ asking price, plus Oneplus made the strange decision not to release the 9 Pro in stellar black in the US, only green and silver. All in all, it didn't feel right spending that amount of money for the 9 Pro when the S21 Ultra was around $150 more. I wrestled with the idea of waiting for the black 9 pro, but there's no word of a release date here, and I told myself I don't really use the camera on a phone that much to justify the S21 Ultra price, and so today I ended up ordering the 8T for a reasonable $599. It's everything I could want in a phone bar a great camera. I spend 95% of my time on my phone watching youtube videos, browsing, social media, listening to music, etc. and maybe 5% taking pictures. The 8T was the perfect choice I think. It'll be like a bigger, stronger brother to my 5T which has been going strong since day 1.

@@harryp539 it's not pixel or Samsung Note 20 level camera but it is the best camera. It takes balanced photos and love night sight on this

i have the same bug in TH-cam with my 8T. When i received the phone the pinch to zoom was working fine but after a TH-cam update it stop working. So i uninstall the latest update and it works fine again...So until they fix that i will not update TH-cam
In india its 560 dollars so we cant really take the price points into considerations. Just ordered it today.

@@himanshugupta9787 No man I haven't faced any issue with the screen. So far after a month of usage I have noticed that internet range is still a problem for me . The battery drain was of some concern at the start but they have optimised it with updates but still not that perfect yet. One more thing I have noticed is games like cod and Pokemon go at some random times just during loading but overall performance is great.

The U.S T-Mobile version is certified IP68 means the every other global version is also unofficially Waterproof without OnePlus spending on the IP68 certification, which could increase the pricing of the phone in competitive markets. Just that we can't claim the company service centre for any water damage. Stay hydrated.
Getting the same TH-cam issue on the 8 pro running Android 11
the only thing stopping me (and I'm sure a LOT of people) from getting a OnePlus phone are the cameras. they gotta invest more in post processing and stop adding gimmicky low quality cameras that make the phone feel cheap.
Yep, the audio isn't that great either. The speakers are good but the DACs Oneplus use are average
Look if you are in US then it's not worth it. But if you are in UK or India,It's a very good phone for the price.. I was going for s20 in india, but s20 and FE has Exynos and different camera sensors (isocell)
And camera would be good at the starting of 2020. Now because of the new phones, it's feels outdated

I have the same problem with my S9, so i think it isn't a bug in Oxigen OS.
TH-cam should fix that bug. Also the bug that doesn't let us click on which part of the video to play in the timeline.

The charging of this phone just blow anything in the market currently. In terms of the bug i have had this for 3 weeks and not noticed it yet.
The TH-cam bug is also present on my OnePlus 7t. It's TH-cam's own bug.

I mean in general you still wouldn’t want to use any phone under water regardless of the ip rating. It just mean that when it rain a little hard and you’re get caught in it, the phone should still be fine

Does anyone with an 8T have any problems regarding their phone booting up randomly while on lockscreen?
My husband has when he uses the 8t for playing music via Loudspeakers (Bluetooth). It mostly is in lockscreen then. Sudden reboots happen randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours. No clue why. Took a different smartphone for the music stuff then (Android as well), no problems whatsoever. Strange.
I was planning ok buying this phone then realized the Oneplus 9 would be realeased on Mid-March and it'll probably be the same price so..... Then another thought hitted me that the 9t will also be released probably on October next year and it'll be almost the same price as the 9 and ut surely would be better.... That's how many choices you have on phones these days not even including the competition...
Every 6 months a phone comes out from them. It’s one of my biggest complaints but it helps their devices to be the best since they’re always so new.

The reason why the camera isn't that good and there is no wireless charging is because if it had those things they would make the one plus pro obsolete.
It's not a cost thing.
It could coat 25 euros more and it would have the better camera but they chose not to kill the pro
