Wow. The neighborhood looked so clean, every house well kept. No litter and graffiti anywhere in the neighborhoods. Let’s make America Great again!

From the women's hats alone, the footage is from 1928-29.

So many seagulls. The waters were filled fish. Today they are not many and scavenging in land.

California the beautiful, 90-100 years and 35 million people ago...

I viewed a documentary a few years ago. Hollywood's early days. Lillian Gish described California of the late 19 teens as a paradise. Flowers blooming everywhere. Your comment, of 2 years ago, is even more appropriate today.

Great sharp print. Had to be at least 16mm film. Not cheap.

Judging by the woman's skirt length and hat, this would be the second half of the 20s.

    At 10:36 - 10:49 SWASTICA
Comments: Prior to NAZI era, the symbol has both far Easter & American Indian Usage as symbol and decorative motif. About 20 years ago NY TIMES ran arrival on subject. For instance the US Girl Scout magazine was called "The SWASTICA"
During World War One a US Army division used as shoulder patch.
As a decorative motive 1920s OTIS ELEVATORS used repeating SWASTICA in ventilation grill near ceiling.
In lower Manhatten similar carvings can be found above colums such as at old bankers trust buildings. One building on N side of Wall Street has one Arm crdly chiseled off.
(Simerly the Liberty Head US dime has Has facist emblem on back, as does wall of Congress behind podium)
IN SHORT, didn't mean then what it does now.

Good luck symbol before Hitler began to use it. Native American healing symbol aswell, making it prominent on hospitals, and pill bottles, and also used by U.S. Pilots in WW1 :)

Extraordinary people who made a home movie because they could envision a future where the entire world might watch their activities.
