My step-dad from Chuuk Micronesia loves this stuff. Living in the U.S he would go buy some from the local Asian Market (it was the only way to get some) and come home it eat it with limed sardine, RIP old man.

Cut the breadfruit into wedges and then fry it. You can even make a chips by frying thinly sliced breadfruit.

Breadfruit and Jackfruit are not the same. Jackfruit is much larger and more, fruity, that is tends to be sweet more like traditional fruits. Breadfruit, when mature is a starchy staple carbohydrate food that when mature, not green, can substitute for potatoes or rice, but often has a more pleasing flavor of its own. You can fin fit in markets where Polynesian or Caribbean Islanders go. Often in places like New York or parts of the LA area. Also in Hawaii and the Pacific islands and the Caribbean, of course

I thought you ate Breadfruit by baking it in an oven, then slicing off a piece and spreading butter on it. Oh wait...just kidding. It's amazing that the HMS Bounty sailed thousands of miles to gather Breadfruit plants to take back to England, only to eventually find out that Breadfruit plants would die in the frigid cold of British winter's. Oh well, as a result, an island was inhabited by the Bounty's mutineers... Pitcairn Island. Fletcher Christian's descendents still live there today. It's on my bucket list to eat Breadfruit.
