Genuinely dont understand how this song doesnt have the most views of all songs. Its their best track, hands down. Such a beautiful, haunting, emotional song. One of my favs of all time, not just in SB discog!
I second the qualities you listed But has quality ever been synonymous with popularity? No, and even if metalheads might have better taste in general, even in this genre, the in my opinion best stuff won't ever be the most popular. I quit listening to Circle With Me, it's just so painfully cookie-cutter. And my favorite record is the singles collection. I hope their next release will be proggier again.
"If you could see me now, you'd catch me in the death spiral" is a staggering line and to have Courtney belt it in the outro is so powerful im in shock
That’s it. This is my favorite band, I’ve determined it. Not one bad song, you guys are pure genius. Courtney REALLY stepped up her cleans. Like wow. I’m in love with this band. 10/10 thank you for existing
To be fair, I can count the amount of songs they have on my fingers and toes. There isn't much room for error. Depending on how long this band sticks around for there will most definitely be at least 1 bad song
i was in a dark place when i found this band. im still in that dark place. and i still cant get enough of this band. its been a trust fall since day one..... i might just wither away now
Literally my absolute favorite band of all time. There’s not one Fucking song that I don’t absolutely love. Honestly the genre is getting stale... and it’s so refreshing when a band has a crisp, original, and unique sound. Spiritbox is just one of those bands that can never be replicated. They’re their own breed ❤️
-Spiritbox, If you read this I want you to know how special every little note and harmony you give to us is pure magic. Words really can’t express how your music makes me feel compared to some heavy hitters in my life of thirty six years.
Yep, for me too, Spiritbox is becoming my favorite band actually. But hey dudes, you really should sell more physical copies of your EP because damn trust me we are a lot wishing to get it. From France with love.
Whoa, that ending is one of the best vocal arrangements that I've heard in a really long time, thank you Spiritbox, thank you for making music that transmits this kind of strong emotions. I hope I can see you guys live someday! Cheers from Colombia!
this bleeds energy from where they are from. the PNW, Vancouver Island. so dark and real and beautiful, god dam its just great. my favorite band💥lets take ferry ride to victoria!
I just realized, if you look at the last three singles they released, there are little colored bars at the very bottom of each of the covers. Each time a new single was released, a new bar with a different color has appeared on the newest single. So based on that and the amount of space left on the covers, I'm guessing we are getting two more songs Edit: I believe the colors also correspond to the color of the pictures they post on twitter before they release each song.
The colored bars, right? I knew I wasn't the only one. I kind of pegged these songs to be on an EP. They're all varied in sound greatly to be part of a cohesive album. But holy shit this stuff is all still so good though.
Adding to this: if you listen to the singles in chronological order, each next one begins quite similarly to how the previous one ends! It’s especially noticeable with Perennial and Electric Cross.
Incredible, deep lyrics. I have been trying to find the word that describes the emotion at the end... Acceptance? Vulnerability? Clarity? Sorrow? They are all there, but it is so much more...
I think the word I am looking for is absolution. Even so, it still feels hollow... I suppose it makes sense. How could a single word capture what they took 5 minutes to build? I am still in awe of this song...
This is seriously one of the most beautiful songs ever, and I do not say things like that lightly. Thank you so much for this music 😭 I am like smiling and crying from this 💗
that parts when she sings "it was an arbitrary kill" was so beautiful and hooky stg....."if you could see me now, I'd hold you responsible," and "if you could see me now you'd catch me in the death spiral" made me emotional because it hits home and with the vocal layered harmonies just bring the tears every time. The bridge when she screams "Cadavered lungs I know you cannot breath in, you disconnect but your bones remain it's the same damn thing...,To cut my heart, survive on muscles memory...." all the way down to the end also sucker punched me with the feels
Will probably always be one of my favorite Spiritbox songs. If you have the ear for it, you can identify every nuance. The ambience, riffs and vocal tones + layers all combine to create a beautiful, interesting and metaphorical storytelling.
I always wonder, when I have someone listen to this..if they actually listen, if they hear it all. Because like you said..so many layers, so much going on and how it all blends together so amazingly. Most of the time..I don't think so lol. My favorite song by them!
I always heard parts of IWABO's songs that I wished the entire song was in that theme/style (Overall disliked the band, and would only listen to each song once, for basically the shock value). And now I get that wish, Spiritbox have blown me away since finding them this week.
it's been 2 days since i first listened to this and it's currently my favourite song. bleach bath comes very close, but the euphoria from this song is unreal
My personal favorite song by them so far--everything is just awesome. Light, heavy, straight-singing, scream/gutteral-singing... it literally has everything going for it. Just beautiful
Have not been disappointed with anything Spiritbox has released. Seriously one of the best metal bands out there right now. I love this video too, almost reminds me of Circa Survive's The Amulet video. 😊
Thank you so much for everything. For helping me find the beauty of suffering. For helping see the growth of myself. For turning the horrorous dark to the luminous shadow. This music will always be more then that for me. Love y'all.

This is so beautiful I really can’t believe this is possible. The two over lapping vocal tracks, “if you could see me now, you would catch me in a death spiral “, is absolutely amazing.
Spiritbox introduced me to the world of Metal for good just last year (after some A7X etc.). I have checked out tons of heavy music since then but nothing compares to the band that has blown me away the most in my life, more specifically their EB singles and anything pre EB. 100% agree with you. The vocal dynamics of Courtney as well as the different tones and emotion the guitar portrays.
Because there are better songs. Solved your genuine question.

This is literally one of the best active metal band right now
Fit for a king was by far my favorite but theyve been blown away by these guys recently

Yeahh man, they're so good!
They are pretty good, but I wouldn't go that far lol
This chick is a pro at melting your heart then melting your face.
I tear up when the outro "if you can see me now" starts playing
Fucking amazing
Chills every time 😌
Same same
Every single time, it’s crazy
They could a TrustFall EP of 15 mins of that outro and it would be amazing
Jesus Christ. Literally the most underrated band in the world. This needs 200K views, now.
I personally think the most underrated band in the world is sukekiyo :)

Almost there, 8000 more!

Their best and most underrated song. Everything after 4:05 is god tier

forking awesome and yes its their best
Nah god tier is the riff at 3:37
4:05 til the end is some of the strongest frisson I've gotten from music.
I was just about to say the exact same thing. This band is special.
You love music.
Cant think of a better harmonized ending in Metal history
Those harmonies at the end...damn...
This is one of the best recorded pieces of music I've ever heard (and I'm 51). And it is one of your very best, Spiritbox.

@@covid-mx9ng Not at all. Different tastes I guess, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
4:05 brings tears to my eyes every single time. Never had that happen before… Courtney’s voice is insanely powerful
The vocal arrangement for this song is astonishing!
The way the drummer in this band uses his snare is crazy and adds a whole different element than I'm used to in terms of tempo and dynamics
Yeah them ghost notes man.
I feel like he puts emphasis on it by not using it so so much so when he does it hits hard going along with song
Mike programs all the drums haha, he is damn good at it that's for sure
Get this woman a grammy.
I like this soft but still heavy vibe. It's got kind of a more nurturing sound to it. Spirit box is always good. It's relevant.
Honestly this song and Sword in mouth by Norma Jean are my favorite songs of all time simply because of the vibe they give off.
That's exactly how I feel about their new song Constance. It's been out for 3 days now and I've probably listened to it 50 times ngl
