I love this episode and how casual and at the same time adorable both Luz and Amity is about being in a relationship. It's not bam we're a couple and you better get used to it. It's what a normal relationship between two people should be like. Normal and should be looked at as such.

This episode made me appreciate Kikimora more as a villain. She isn't unpleasant for the sake of it, but is driven to gain more power to make up for her unhappiness in life and the fear of punished by failing to live up to her superior's expectations. It doesn't make her actions excusable, but you can understand how she ended up this way.
I am always fascinated about what are the circumstances of what pushs someone to be a villain and Kikimora is no expectation. Call me a bit empathic, but I would be interested in seeing Kiki leaving the coven. Both she and Hunter are not doing well mentally in its environment.

Hooty without his skin was genuinely terrifying and that interaction with Amity and willow is interesting cause it shows Willow isn’t exactly over the whole years of bullying amity did cause as much as I love amity she has not been held accountable for those years of pain even if it was her parents who started it cause she didn’t need to be all rude to willow. She would put willow through hell and if Luz never came it would’ve been the same thing every day so willow might confront Amity which would be good.

Like you can tell Willow still isn’t all that comfortable that amity acts like all those years of pain she gave her was nothing like in eclipse lake where she said it’s weird to see amity around much more and that face she makes when amity said she’s glad that they can live these moments again.

Theory: the potion that Terra was giving Raine was neither a mind control potion nor a memory potion. First, Raine was coherent and had full access to their memories of dating Eda, plus they were holding back in their fight, so simple mind control is out of the question (though there may still be room for something more sophisticated). Second, Raine had been planning their opposition to Belos for a long time, so even if their memory of the BATTs was wiped away, their rebellious streak would have remained. I theorize that the headaches are a symptom of something else, like a constant surveillance spell or some form of geas or coersion spell that would punish Raine for attempting to repeat their rebellion.
That or Belos made sure that Raine would forget everything, even their research material and only remember their training for coven leader. Like, their whole memory of what they learned of Belos‘s plan *poof* all gone.
But yeah. I like your theories too. We probably will learn more about that in the oncoming weeks (hopefully), but I too was speculating what could have happened to them. Especially because of the end credit scene with them and the vines of the plant coven leader.

The fact that Terra legitimately terrifies Kikki, even to the point that she doesn’t use the Glyph binding move on her, tells me so much about the head of the Plant Coven.
I’m slightly.. well, actually very worried about Luz’s remark about how “Hecate sacrificed herself for Azura in book five” seeing as how the good witch azura books have been shown to mirror Luz’s life in the boiling isles. Particularly when the books were referenced because Luz wanted to become friends with Amity just like Azura had become friends with her enemy at the time, Hecate. This makes me wonder if the quote is foreshadowing that Amity will sacrifice herself for Luz!

Ok can we just stop and appreciate how deep this episode is in representing relationship struggles? I mean, Eda and Raine are facing the fact that their love never changed or disappeared even if their lifes (Eda's curse and Raine career in the bard coven) tear them apart, and now, due to Raine's memory loss, things are getting even worse because all they've done together before Raine's capture is now gone.
Then Luz feeling torn apart because of the choice she has to make between the love for her mother and what she really wants to be, and the fear of losing her girlfriends due to that. She didn't tell Amity the truth because she didn't want her to suffer and maybe because she was scared that Amity would have abandoned her due to all these problems and uncertainties. And we can see Amity struggling too: like the clever girl she is, she realized Luz is hiding something and she got anxious and worried because she wasn't able to understand and consequently do something for helping her girlfriend. It's very important for her to be the best (awesome) girlfriend she can be, and not knowing things makes her feel helpless and unable to "control" the situation (she's very organized and responsible so this is fundamental for her).
It's absolutely amazing that a Disney show for kids depicts so accurately these kind of relationship dynamics. When I watched the episode I loved it so much and totally sympathized with Amity because I'm feeling helpless too (my girlfriend lives far from my home and I haven't seen her for almost 3 months because of university, work and her mother who doesn't accept our relationship and make it difficult for her to see me so we still don't know when we'll be together again). So when Amity said "I know the situation is crazy and I'm ok taking things one day at a time but I can't help if I don't know what's going on" I felt like she read my mind.
This is unbelievable, so realistic and yet so simple and cute, I really love this show, piece of art 💜

I’ve said this the last time we had Kiki in an episode but I freakin love her. I have a thing for unrepentant bitch characters, they’re one of my favorite kinds of characters. So I’ve really enjoyed Kiki. And while I didn’t trust her this episode, I was willing to see how this all played out.
I love that what brought Kiki down this episode wasn’t that she was lying about her family stuff, it’s that her ambition got the best of her. She’s basically where S1 Lilith was and Hunter is, desperately doing anything to move up in the ranks and gain Belos’ favor. It’s also made clear that she’s not highly thought of in the EC. Which just helps her look more pathetic. I love a pathetic and petty bitch.
I don’t know. I just like that this episode gave some depth to another of the Emperor’s underlings. I like when antagonists can be more than one note. And this also explains why Kiki, Lilith, and Hunter were in the intro together despite Lilith having defected. They’re all going through/went through the same brainwashing shit.
Also, “…What do I get?” “You get… to live.” Yo, that delivery. Terra is frickin terrifying (Pun intended). Props to her VA throughout the whole episode actually.
Oh my god I’ve missed my kids! Lumity is still so precious and I’m so glad we got some sort of scene with Willow and Amity. I love that there’s still that level of uncertainty.
Same here. I always get a big smile on my face seeing Kikimora being herself and I do like how you tied in the season 2 intro with her, Lilith and Hunter together in one shot. Lilith was lucky to get out and I hope that things will go well for both Hunter and Kiki.

This was such a good episode to kick off season 2B. It had everything: An elaborate Luz plan, King and Hooty causing destruction, Eda reuniting with Raine, another Coven Head and even a friendship moment between Amity and Willow. I can’t wait for next Saturday 😉😆

My favorite part was we saw how the interaction with her mom was perceived by Luz and how she Internalized the interaction. If you go back to Yesterday’s Lie, Camila NEVER SAID “promise me you’ll return and never come back” all she says is that she’s sorry she pushed Luz away, and was living with me really that bad? Luz however internalized it and remembers it as this big ultimatum of you HAVE to choose between me or the Boiling Isles
The owl house matters so much to me because it’s literally how I figured out I wasn’t straight! Having representation matters so much because it really impacts who sees it and educated people who really need it! Screw the higher ups in Disney, screw the dont say gay bill, and cheers to Dana and so many other wonderful creators for pushing this change! Here’s to another great season part of the owl house :DDD

My theory is that the spell Kiki-“Bitch”-mora used on Raine through their tattoo is causing them headaches, and Terra “Old P.” Snapdragon gives them a brew that relieves said headaches while also keeping their memories away. Luz and Amity's final words are so strong in this episode. To be honest, I'm afraid of what's going to happen in the next episodes, but we must keep moving forward and face things one day at a time. But one thing they should've done was making Luz cry and letting out all of her emotions when Amity simply said they could take things slowly, showing how respectful and caring her awesome girlfriend is.

I'm in love with the fact that Amity didn't look at her phone. Ever since I was a kid, I had a lot of bad experiences when it came to going through people's phones. Trauma level. So seeing a show break that habit of looking at peoples phones and not romantisising or justifying it, it makes me cry of happiness. And Luz not pushing Amity away or tell her it's ok or saying Amity should worry about herself and not her. Luz was honest about her feelings and told Amity everything.
And I do like Kiki as a character. It's obvious she's struggling from pressure in the family and coven. She's most likely abused both physically and emotionally in the coven. All this leading to her snapping and becoming a phycopath. Not to mention she let's her ego get in the way a lot like when she chose to stay for her promotion rather than going home. What ever her end will be, I hope she gets a suitable ending. And I love how it's not obvious what her ending will be. Will she get redeemed or continue to let her ego get in the way and stay a villain.

The screams of Elijah are unique
I was so happy that they handled Luz's promise to her mom and the reaction to it exactly as I wanted. Amity wasn't mad or unreasonable, she just listened and even did so in a way that respected Luz's privacy. This show does relationships so well.
Plus finally the on screen confirmation of Willow pumping iron. Love it.
As for Belos' identity, I was on board with the human theory back at the start of season 2, but now I think it's more likely that he's a half-witch half human descendant or something along those lines. Because it's important to remember that Belos has only been in power for like 50 years, and Philip was in the boiling isles a few centuries ago.
The end of the episode made one thing clear:
We have less than ONE month to defeat Belos and return to the human world.
The relief I felt in that there was no drawn-out misunderstanding and that Amity just straight-up said "tell me what happened" is beyond my ability to express.
I am _so_ tired of forced drama because someone couldn't be bothered to have a conversation.

The Owl House finally came back! Lumity is back and I'm so happy! Also I'm so joyful that Amity and Willow talked one on one and Amity braided Willow's hair. Poor Reine, they need help. I'm so glad this show wasn't permanently canceled, this show is just so awesome and amazing! Also love Hooty, both the most wholesome and disgusting character at the same time, as well as my favorite.

I'm so happy to see The Owl House come back. This episode was a lot of fun, and I loved seeing Luz and company again. Also, I'm so glad that Luz told Amity what's been bothering her instead of keeping it bottled up until a later date. Now that Amity knows, chances are Eda, King, Hooty, Willow and Gus are going to know also, which is good, since Luz will need some emotional support during these tough times. Also, hooray for Lumity! I had a feeling you'd have a strong reaction to Luz kissing Amity on the cheek.

The Lumity moments in this episode were the second most exciting thing for me this weekend.
Glad to see you back at it for the Owl House. This was a great return for the show. Between the drama of Eda and Raine, the Lumity moments, understanding Kikimora a bit more, the newly introduced Terra Snapdragon, and the revelation of what's to come for the Day of Unity, Follies at the Coven Day Parade was an excellent episode.

Luz is an important piece in his plan. He needs her in order to finish his unity spell. That's why he's letting her roam free, why there's no wanted posters of her. He needs the one who has seen and mastered the glyphs and he's leaving her to fully charge.
It all makes sense. I suspected this for some time now, but this just confirms it. She's more screwed then she realizes.

Ya'll I had HOPE for Kiki, since I kinda like her character and when I TELL YOU I was SO SO SO upset to when she betrayed Luz 😭😭
I had a theory she would learn spanish for Luz, and she did.
I get the hate for Kikimora, but I personally think the added depth of missing her fam is welcome. Her being a "petty villain" is an interesting point, but I don't think she is "petty." She just doesn't have the development that we need but she has done so much evil that it is kind of unbalanced. We hate her and there is nothing else there. Silco ( and I would say King Andrias despite the hate) have much more depth and their motivations are more complex. They also have more personality than Kikibitch. To add on, Silco and King Andrias have interesting parallels with the protagonists of their respective shows. All in all, there is no reason to like Kikibitch due to the lack of depth and complexity, unbalanced evil acts to personality, and just annoyingness to the design add up to a villain who is hated rather than feared/ hated/ respected for their evil endeavors. This all also applys to Marcus from Arcane as well.
EDIT: Sorry for the long comment. I just REALLY love villains in shows and movies, and I like picking them apart.

When Luz finds out about Raine and Eda's relationship she says "It's just like Azura and Hackity in book 5!" Luz also calls herself Luzura sometimes. And in the scene where she kidnaps Kiki she role plays as Hackity. Anyways what I'm trying to say is that the Azura books she and Amity are so obsessed with are totally Sapphic enemies to lovers on top of being fantasy Isekai genre.
I knew she'd lose it with this one. I nearly did. Raine, another coven head, Belos face reveal, Willow's new hair and more Lumity than we could've asked for. Watching Eda confront them was difficult and I think Raine and I are a bit alike. But I knew the screams were gonna happen with the Lumity moments. And I laughed so hard with those and the rants about Kiki too.
Just sayin - I'll be 50 in a few weeks and I reacted pretty much exactly the same to every Lumity moment for exactly the same reasons. Representation matters to all ages, so you continue the fantastic reactions and let yourself be thrilled by it!!!
I waited all weekend for your reaction and was not disappointed! This week's episode was just *chef's kiss* and so was your reaction! Also, don't know if you noticed, but Camilla's scene isn't the same one we saw in Yesterday's LIe. Luz remembers it differently!

My theory on Rain's (Raine's?) headaches: The potion actually IS helping with the pain...but only because it's caused by their brain trying to remember what the potions are making them forget, and refreshing the amnesia by drinking a new potion causes the pain to go away.

No, you're not the only one. I wanted to hug Luz multiple times throughout this episode. Poor baby is handling a lot right now and it's catching up with her. She thinks she has to deal with it alone. But at the same time she's not sure how to handle it

I know I'm late and season 2 is already finished, but I just noticed that when Raine blows on the tea, you can hear this small high-pitched whistle before they drink it... Their trick was foreshadowed even before the episode where we learn about Raine and Eda's past!! That is some really good writing there I tell you! Please tell me I wasn't the only one who noticed that!
