  • After a successful repair, it's time to give this machine a good test. I have a full load of frost cover sheets for my garden, along with some shop towels.
Seems to be performing even better than before!
Note: These towels, and sheets are permanently stained, so there is no expectation stains will be fully removed. However, the sheets, and towels will be fully cleaned, rinsed of surface dirt, and ready for intended use.
    Cycle time stamps:
    8:16 High speed agitation begins
    14:17 Low speed agitation begins
    22:26 First spin
    24:10 Spray rinse
    28:15 First spin ends
    35:00 Rinse agitation begins
    41:05 Final spin
    48:56 End of cycle
Thanks for stopping by to watch, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell!

I used to subscribe to Consumer Reports back in the day, and remember seeing this Maytag/Norge Performa washer on their best buy list for top load washers for a few years.

      That's cool! It's not a bad performer.

It's good that you fixed that issue! I remember the video before the repairs it had an awful noise on spin! This is awesome.

Yep, I had to fix that. Was real loud in person.

Thank you! It does a fine job. That new belt made a difference in operation, that's for sure.

The DAA is really the best for full loads and bedding is where they really shine. Especially with fitted sheets.

Awseome repair to a very decent maytag, sure its ready for many more years, even tho i think the 1979 will outlast it lol. Nothing comes close to those pitman maytags

Thanks! I've got parts to keep both going the rest of my life, but agree, I think the 79 will hold up better. I'm a big fan of the pitman style Maytags, especially standard capacity.

I always thought that wrinkle free or permanent press cycles gave a slow spin speed but I don’t see that on this machine. It seems to spin at fast speed cause I was wondering why you chose this cycle as opposed to the regular cycle especially when there’s towels.

Looks like this one was not set up that way.
This is the only cycle with a spray rinse, and since these items were very dirty, that's why!
