Knowing this from being born and raised right smack in Bankstown, quite a bit of the older Lebanese folks are more civilised, however it was a fair percentage of the younger Lebs that wrecked their reputation, with their holier-than-thou attitude, their "I own Bankstown. You stay out of my city" mentality, disregard for authority, etc. But particularly the latter, given the level of disrespect they air out at the police, the amount of carnage they caused through doing burnouts and doughnuts with their cars (normally Japanese), and their level of shouting. But then some of the Bankstown Police have then in turn damaged their own reputation by mixing the badly-behaved crowd with the well-behaved crowd by means of accusations and assumptions leading to innocent folks being arrested or tackled, which then turned the level of rebellion from the reckless young Lebs even further.
