Hi , I'd love to see the collection of videos you've done on building the Caledonian yawl. I'm building the Ian Ougthred Auk at the moment and would love to try my hand at the CY . Your videos are a great way for me to feel confident in tackling the project , I can only see one video on your youtube page any help much appreciated Lee
Hi - that's great! The Auk is a sweet little boat. If you check the description below the video, there's a link where you can get access to the entire series on Off Center Harbor.
The Yols and Fareings which are said to have inspired the styling of the Cal Yawl sailed to windward with a substantial full length keel skeg. I've been fortunate enough to sail a Chamberlain Alpha Dory in company with a number of Cal Yawls and was impressed with their ability to keep pace!
A great looking boat.
Veey easy to fall in love with this boat
A beautifully fitted out boat. Looks like it's a real pleasure to sail.
Beautiful boat. There's a lot to be said for keeping it simple...
I bought plans for the elfyn wish i could build both

I’ve got the plans (from Iain RIP) but first I’m building a Goat Island Skiff.
Good video, very practical...
Maybe I missed it--is there a centerboard or daggerboard?
Yes, a centerboard in a trunk.
@@offcenterharbor Thanks, it's a well-made video about a very nice design.

Thanks for posting the vid.. I'm interested in building one of these. Why do you prefer the lug over the Gunter rig?
I see this wasn't the builder's vid. Sorry. I am working on my boat while TH-cam plays. Ha ha Why does he prefer the lug rig?
Is that Eric from my year at IBTC?!
Yes
