Just found this and its already my best channel on youtube. For those asking abt thick coarse hair and sleeking down the edges. I have the exact same hair texture as kim. Thick, major shrinkage and no curl pattern. 4c. The key is stretching ur hair overnight before styling in the morning. (e.g. twistncurl, twist out, threading, bands) It comes out looking longer and blowdried, like her hair was at the beginning of the video. If u gel the edges without stretching first its just gonna puff back up.
If Ecostyler gel doesn't work for you, try a pomade. I had the same issue with gels period :-P I use Murray's Edgewax. I don't have to use a scarf either. It's about $ 3 at Dollar General and most Beauty Supply stores sell it for about $5. My edges stay laid even after I workout/run. Hope this helps those with gel resistant hair ;-)

You natural texture is very similar to mine. I have seen your strectching and washing process. Thanks. I have also seen how you uses extension which also appreciate, but I have not seen how you move from washed to textured curls
