Being a late starter and yet a golf nut .... consistently looking to improve. I’m very impressed with your videos in term of common sense, simple to follow and to the point. These fine comments from the low handicappers are simply solid PROOFS that you’re the best. Many thanks to you Aimee.
I've just started watching Aimee's videos, and I changed my grip entirely because of her. And it's worked for me. I've always had a problem keepng my head down, but I've learned a few things from her in this regard too. Now as far as shifting my weight, if I don't, with keeping my head down, I can see myself hitting behind the ball. But, I have to be patient. I've only been playing golf for 50 years.
The more I study your videos the more I am learning....the more I practice (I do daily) the more I can do your drills... and I love it. I am from the era of 70 80's type swing and played very well in this technique. I been as low as a .7 index and currently was last year a 4 index. My body hurt playing my way. I believe the modern swing Aimee is teaching will change all that and I will feel better and play more consistently and I will bring my index down again because of her. My swing the last 4 years has been the Mike Austin swing that teaches you to use your core like a bow and you are shooting an arrow. You move your core far left in the backswing and the shoot your arrow by moving your belly button forward as hard and fast as you can to create power.....and you end up like how Aimee describes...but because of a narrow stance.....you stay pretty centered in swing. Trouble is I hurt myself badly in my right ribs and pulled the tendons in my rib cage and it took months to heal. I over did shooting my arrow (belly button) and pulled my ribs apart in the process. I will not using Aimee's modern swing. I can feel the difference how much easier it is on my body and my joints do not hurt anymore. My left knee was taking a beating last year.....it will not anymore. Thanks Aimee for your teaching....you are the best.
I just wanted to say how much I have learned from studying your swing videos. I been playing golf for over 50 years and have had good success in that time, I hold a course record where I live and have played in our state Open three times. I once held a .7 index and still am holding a 4 Index (short game woes- your lessons on short game will be a big help for me). But I have learned so much on the long game from you as well. My swing is becoming effortless. I know that over the years when my swing felt like I was using 70% of my power is when I hit the ball best and just as far swinging hard. But I never understood how and how to stay swinging at 70% until today. Your lesson on weight transfer made a light go off in my head and in my feel. You state on the backswing to stay as though you maintain 50% on left and right foot but it will be more like 70% on right foot and 30% on left foot. I have always done close to 100% in the backswing on my right foot.....used a narrow stance and hands forward (80's type setup and swing). I have converted to your modern swing easily. But I want you to know I now understand why the LPGA pros look so effortless when they swing and it is because of the weight transfer you taught me. When I stay at 70% on my right foot in completion of my backswing.....I then swing at 70% of my power....but the key is now I transfer almost 100% of my weight onto my left foot before I strike the ball. Wow! Effortless power that I can repeat more easily then any other golf technique I have learned. I am 65 years old....only 5"8" and still drive the ball 275 yards on average and I hit some last year that measured 330 yards (a rarity I admit). I just love your teaching and I suspect I will have my best year in awhile....I cannot wait to show off my new swing to my golfing buddies...they will definitely see a big difference. P.S. my body is not going to be hurting after playing 18 holes of golf like it did last year using your technique to getting a powerful swing, Thank you so much for the lessons.
I am truly happy to hear that my videos have been helping your game! It sounds like you are doing the right things! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful & lovely message. I would love to keep following your progress! Best of luck and please keep me posted! :)
@@GolfWithAimee The transition from the Mike Austin Technique I have been using for three years to your modern swing has been easy and fun to do and I have accomplished it in about two weeks...fastest time ever for me by far. And I am getting better and better at it, more consistent, better balance, etc ...the more I practice your technique. Chipping has been my biggest problem in my game for about 15 years now and I was struggling to master your technique as well....but yesterday I had a major breakthrough and am hitting my chips much more consistent and crisp once I got my set-up for chipping right for me. I use a slightly open, narrow stance, weight 60% on left foot as you teach. But to hit consistent chips.....I need to keep my shoulders more square so I can swing the club in front of my toe line and not swing too flat going back. Since I have set-up this way....I am now able to use your technique perfectly and now I can really start focusing on execution instead of mechanics. Thank you so much....I wish I knew what I know now 55 years ago. I might have accomplished more than I have in my golf game. But I am okay with that. Golf is going to be very fun this year using your technique on the course.
Love your story Ken, and also so happy to find Golf with Aimee. I'm the same age as you, and only half an inch taller (and 73 kgs or 160 pounds), but unfortunately didn't have the early start like you, we played cricket in our schooldays! 🏏 Started golf in my mid-30's, didn't get "serious" until my early 40's, and have had 2 periods since then when I gave the game away completely. Most recent was a 3.5 years' hiatus, until I started practising again last month. After 3.5 years without picking up a club, getting a lot of fat shots and a fair few shanks. Discovered Aimee the day before yesterday looking for a shank cure, her instruction made the most sense out of the myriad of golf videos out there. Already feeling the difference after hitting 80 balls with a PW yesterday. Thanks Aimee!! I don't know whether I could ever hit the ball 275 yards like you (haven't measured, but around 220m, or 240 yards, was my best when playing off 16 four years ago, and average was 200m); my handicap has never been close to 9, let alone 4, although have shot 39 & 40 for 9 holes on two occasions. Your story is very inspiring, and hopefully with Aimee's help I'll get a bit more distance with less effort.......... All the best for your golf, greetings from Perth, Australia 🏌🏾♂️
Any time we can simplify the swing mechanics as we grow older, is important. Less flexibility creates swing plane problems that we often ignore. Aimee shows us how we can be more effective and use our available power to create a swing that is more repeatable without adding to the aches and pains that come with growing older. Having commented on this, I still find it difficult keep it simple. I was a 7 and am now a 14.7 index. I find that by using some of Aimee’s techniques that I am able to swing with less stress on the lower back. Thank you
Grrreat video and very good topic. I am about a 12 hc and on the days i shift my weight correctly, i play 3-5 strokes better. Thank you again amazing Aimee. I enjoy your videos, very simple to follow. Q.

Got it, and it's been one of my (many) flaws. My question is, given that I can get it right for 6 to 12 holes, as fatigue sets in (I'm 68 years old and playing off 8) I revert to bad habits. Any clues on this or is it just a matter of getting fitter?
Look at the video where she hits the ball -- around 5:20. I would guess it's around 75-80% weight on the front leg at impact, and then 90% on the follow through. 50/50 at impact would be too much weight on the back leg.
Hi aimee. I’ve been trying different kinds of weight shift, but I’ve noticed when I don’t slightly sway, my left shoulder drops low. How do I correct that. It’s really pissing me off already. :( Hope to hear from you soon
I love Aimee but.. watching a Sung Hyun Park swing, her weight is definitely more on the back foot until impact (where its pretty neutral at best). I think its a good idea to watch these video's but also keep a critical eye and disagree if its not what I'm feeling or observing from watching textbook swing examples (eg Sung Hyun Park). There's no way you can properly hit through the ball if your weight is on the front foot at impact.
That's totally incorrect. Check this video at 0:47 and 1:57, weight cannot possibly be "more on the back foot", Sung Hyun Park only has her toes on the ground: th-cam.com/video/imMtzCqsE1Q/w-d-xo.html

Clear and fantastic instruction!
Clear and concise instruction as all ways 👏

Good job Aimee.... I have my students watch you. My female student love you especially.
I need further lessons. Thanks

This totally confounded me....thanks for this video💞💞💞
Question: When the club makes contact with the ball, what is your recommended weight distribution? Is it back to 50/50? Or still more on the back leg?

Is it gradually along down swing or at once at impact?
this is my problem that happen on course thanks for video
Good way to achieve optimal performance based on performance rating
Good lesson, thanks
Good ideas.
when weight shift strarted?
I swag back like an 80'splayer as it then compels me to transfer weight forward when I swing. If I don't I swing static like a statue :(
👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pm to how training. Thanks
