@ in terms word of faith and NRR are basically now just used as spare terms to demean preachers they don’t like. They never get into the theology or what the preacher actually says that they claim is against the word of God did just throw those words out to smear them and forget that so doing their disobey in the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am tired of it and it has to stop. It is not a Christian like behavior to tear down people constantly because you watch some bad video of them on TH-cam like a critic

    • @amyruth1078

@RLS4jesus WOF stands for Word of Faith (meaning the Word of Faith movement, which goes against biblical Christianity in context), and NAR stands for New Apostolic Reformation (which is another movement that could be considered Word of Faithx10) there are some really sound teachers that touch on these different movements. Melissa Dougherty, Mike Winger, Justin Peters, and others have some great videos to look into regarding these movements and the false teachers that are apart of these movements. I grew up in it and there are many reasons why it is false based on what the truth of God's Word actually says but that is a good place to start if you are interested. The Bevere's pass a sniff test and may understand the true Gospel, but they actually promote many unhealthy and unbiblical views, such as submitting to your pastor in nearly everything, even if the pastor makes a request such as wearing oddly colored socks every single Sunday. This example that the Bevere's use is to promote the idea that churches should not go against their pastor, which can lead to a flock no longer questioning things that should be questioned and a lack of true accountability for a church pastor. I would encourage you to look into these movements and test the core beliefs of these movements to Scripture in context and see the truth of them for yourself 😊

I’ve listened to both Allie and Lisa. I’m disappointed that so many refer to John and Lisa as false teachers; I can’t speak for what they may have taught before 2024, because I haven’t followed them in earlier years, but if anyone would listen to their current podcast on TH-cam, I think you’d have to jump through hoops and take their words wildly out of context to consider them heretical. Why do we, as a body of believers, seem to leave no room for people to grow in their understanding of the word and in their relationship to Christ?
John and Lisa are very clear that they strive to be teachable and repentant if they’re ever found to be in error. So far, I’ve heard them teach nothing less than Christ and Him crucified and the importance of knowing Him.
I think the crime so many are uncomfortable with is that the Beveres are not cessationists, which is no crime at all.
The Bible commands each person to work out their own faith with fear and trembling; I’ve never seen a single teacher that I thought was 100% on the money, who didn’t react in a fleshly manner at one point-including Allie, who I love! To err is human, to give grace is Godly.
God is the author and perfector of our faith, not Allie, the Beveres, or anyone else. Stop relying on teachers to spoon feed you theology and understanding. Stop being terrified of Christians from differing denominations. Seek God and He’ll get you where He wants you. It is evident to me that the Beveres love God and His word and they seek diligently to share it with a broken world. All non-salvific issues they may or may not have, I will leave in the sanctifying hands of God.

You know with all the complaining on these comments - whether warranted or not - this conversation may have saved my physical life. May people always 1st think how God can use someone a human may disagree with to save the life of another. My dad did basically the exact same thing to me at age 12. I licked a whip cream spoon from my grandmothers baking as a chubby-ish child and my dad told me doing that would make me fat. And I went on a 20 year disordered eating cycle that I struggle with even today. And I never had an answer for why I couldn’t get healthy. She laid it out beautifully. I started our church’s fast this morning before I heard this message and I wept. I was doing it “to diet” and to hopefully be healed. But I just want to see and sacrifice now. I want to denounce the number and my fear and claim Jesus as the only One I want and need. My ultimate Comforter. These actionable tasks of acknowledging my identity - my body - as Christs and being grateful for it instead of loathing its existence spoke to me deeply. Thank you thank you thank you. I felt God through your words.

I would not recommend my wife listen to Lisa or John Bevere as they have some serious issues. Although I appreciate your pushback on some issues and I do agree with her assessment of cultural feminism, I think the issues are a little too severe to be promoting her book as your audience will buy it and then possibly buys John’s which are also very problematic.

I love your work, Allie, but I have an issue with something in this interview. Lisa describes her husband being gone a lot when their son was a teenager. Sometimes, Dad was home only one day a month, and not at his best even then. This was impacting the boy, because he needed his dad to talk to.
When Lisa sought counsel, she was told that their son could process things with her. He would someday be married, after all, and would be processing with a woman for the rest of his life. Lisa should submit to her husband and deal with his work schedule.
Honestly, I had to stop listening. The counsel she got is so wrong.
First, teenage boys have a right to their fathers. They need them, especially during the teen years. Processing with a woman is completely different from talking life's depths over with a dad. There is no substitute for a father. Believe me, I raised two sons without one.
Second, submission does not mean we don't address serious issues in the family, and this was one of them. A wife has a right and an obligation to stand up for the health of the family and the well-being of the children. In this case, her husband should have listened to her concerns and changed his schedule. If he refused, she needed to enforce some kind of boundary, brought the church in, gotten others involved. This can be done in the context of submission.
Dr. James Dobson had a huge, positive impact on American families through his ministry, Focus on the Family. When James was a teenager, his dad was gone a lot with his preaching ministry. He was doing well in his career.
But James was struggling without his dad. So his mom called his dad. "I need you here."
Guess what? James' dad changed EVERYTHING to save his son. He adjusted his schedule to be there for James. And we got Dr. Dobson--and with him, many incredible stories of redemption.
James' dad never revived his career after that decision. It cost him. But it was worth it to save his son.
    That's what real men do.

People should look to JESUS for 'who to follow' (NOT to Allie Beth), and people should discern for themselves by the Witness of the Holy Ghost & God's Word regarding (all) doctrine. I discern what Allie Beth says the *same* as I discern what Lisa Bevere says: Both are my sisters in Christ. Both are equally daughters of God. And both are humans capable of error - and both are saved/redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. I am shocked at the pharisaical attitudes of some in the comments urging Allie Beth to shun a *precious* woman of God (Lisa Bevere). And I find it telling that it is not likely to see 'supporters' of Lisa Bevere telling her to shun Allie Beth. (What 'kind' of brethren are drawn to whom, speaks.) Jesus said it is our love for the BRETHREN that makes us KNOWN that we are His.

Note about something not at all central to this but was still brought up--mary shelley, while married to an atheist, was a Christian. Her literature, especially Frankenstein, explores the human need for God and the dangers of taking things into our own hands. Christians, no need to shy away from reading Mary Shelley's works.

    • @micheletisdale_HHWF

I agree that there is no need to shy away from Shelly's writings. I also believe that someone can read God into almost anything if they try.
But I would never call Mary Shelly a Christian. I would say Frankenstein was more of a philosophical novel steeped in alchemy and the occult. After running off with a married man at the age of 16 who left his wife Harriet and two young children behind (Harriet unfortunately committed suicide while carrying her third child as a result) and then proceeded to go gallavanting around the world with her lover. At one particular weekend, getaway with friends, while indulging in wine and laudanum "Frankenstein" was set in motion. I don't think Christ was her inspiration. The deaths and tragedy that surround Mary, Percy, their friends, and many of their family members are quite remarkable. Much sadder than the end of her book. So yeah, I would say read it, but definitely not as Christian literature.

@micheletisdale7467 she wrestles with God but by the end of her life does identify with Christianity. Ideas of the occult are clearly present in her literature, but as a warning and a catalyst to explore the human condition, specifically the potential dangers of knowledge, which I assumed she was inspired by the downfall of humanity in Genesis. She also was against the destruction of the family. But that's my opinion. Glad to read yours!!:) I also agree that she wasn't a Christian writer like CS lewis, but rather a writer that happened to be a Christian.

God's word does not prohibit women from being pastors, and the very small handful of bible verses that have been cherry-picked to support the claim against female pastors have been debunked by a large and growing body of Biblical scholarship. The teaching that prohibits women as pastors is a gross mishandling of the word of God, and it's beyond the time the lie stopped being propagated through the church.

Respectfully, I challenge your view. God's word does not prohibit women in ministry. The verses often used to undermine women have been grossly misrepresented. From a spiritual perspective, we should be asking ourselves why is there so much vitriol and hatred toward women in ministry. It seems that Satan must hate women and be afraid of what will happen if the daughters of God take back their Divinely given, image-bearing, authority to rule and reign just as Yahweh designed for them from the beginning of time.

@@rebeccajolliff3378you are absolutely correct that women are vital to the ministry of the church. In Romans 16, Paul commended several women, who worked along side him, as fellow servants of Christ. But the position of Pastor and teacher, in the church body, has been entrusted to Godly men. Older women are charged to teach younger women. In obedience to Christ, we must recognize that men and women are not the same, and have different parts to play in the church, in submission to Christ, the head. Where men are not teaching and leading their congregations, while properly utilizing the gifts that God has given to the women, women have attempted to fill the void of leadership and create a major stumbling block in the church’s goal of making true disciples. It is not God’s design and further complicates the distinction God has made between men and women, resulting in all sorts of false teachings-feminism among them.

II Timothy 2 : 8 - 15 is not in the context of the church, but of marriage and the home ... the references to child-bearing and Adam and Eve (the first husband and wife) make that clear.

This particular episode is one that highlights that the challenges of having a daily podcast that is run as a sort of a paraministry. You always need to have a guest on and why not go for someone that is on the New York Times Bestseller list. Oprah used this approach and we see the result of that throughout the professing church today. Always talking, but never arriving at the truth.
When you start to equivocate and say that female pastors are not salvation issue, you a treading on the perspicuity of Scripture. For a thorough discussion of the of the topic of organization of the church read "Biblical Eldership" by Alexander Strauch.
Next when you have a half hearted discussion on the "hearing the voice" of God apart from Scripture you are starting to undermine the doctrine of the "Sufficiency Scripture". One of the cornerstones of The Reformation.
Better to stick with Rosaria Butterfield, Susan Heck and Nancy Pearcey (The Toxic War on Masculinity: How Christianity Reconciles the Sexes and Total Truth).

Allie Beth, I do not agree with a lot of your theology but I have respect for you. I have noticed a critical spirit in you at times. I don’t agree that you accused Ashley Hetherington of witchcraft for applying anointing oil, she used scripture and everything she spoke about was scriptural. You accused her - who accuses? Who is the accuser of the brethren? Who is critical? I just think that you should issue a public apology since you accused her publicly.

Hi, Allie thank you for this episode showing how as Christians we should show the love of Christ to all believers. Some people in the comments judge Lise from other people's comments and not on her fruit. Listen to her podcast about biblical issues and see that she is not a false teacher. Believers must test and see the fruit of a person before judging them. That's why people in the world are afraid to be in the church because of believer in showing the love of Christ in them calling out sin from others. You can call out a person who is sinning, but not condemning them in making them believe there is no hope. Because Jesus Christ died for all mankind to be saved. That's all remember the cross and why Jesus Christ died because of love for the world. I know we can make mistakes and we all can fall short. Only in enteral glory we will be with no fault with the Lord. From South Africa love my sisters and brothers in Christ.

For me, I believe the Lord showed me, through Scripture and prayer, that by submitting to my husband I was trusting the outcome to God. Submitting to my husband was submitting to God's design. It was a matter of trust.
My husband never went into a church and made a profession of faith. But I do believe the Lord gave him wisdom in leading our family. I also believe He gave my husband the gift of salvation. As I look back on his life, I see the Lord changed him even though I hadn't seen it in the moment.
The unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. 1 Corinthians 7:14
Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the Word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives. 1 Peter 3:1
The 1 Peter 3:1 verse was my go-to verse. It reminded me to keep my attitude in check and not roll my eyes or sigh. Yes, it is more than "without a word" because conduct is included. We are not submitting in good faith when rolling our eyes. This was HARD for me.
This made for a miraculous last half of our marriage. I thank God every day for three decades we had together. And I'm so grateful for the Word that guided our marriage.
Read Scripture daily, that will bless your marriage.

Once, when I was furious with my husband I heard ( not audibly) “ ask David to forgive you for the anger you are holding against him in your heart.” That did not come from me. I needed God to get me there before I walked down those stairs. It took a good while, but I obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit. My husband looked surprised, but his wall came down. God does peak to us through the HolySpirit. You don’t always understand it at the time, but His ways are so much better than anything we would come up with. Paul says forcing celibacy is a doctrine of demons, & juxtaposed with the teachings in catholicism, makes so much sense from pauls wisdom, & the created order of God in Genesis. Marriage is not for everyone, but Marriage & children is the goal for most of humanity, a good mathematical reason & rationality is birthrates, or the lack thereof in replacing the previous generations with new generations, this was a fun episode I really enjoyed this one.

I have seen paul was single for missionary purposes after his conversion, its also possible while he was a pharisee persecuting christians his wife could have passed away & he remained single after that, but my point stands. He never says "dont get married" he is saying he has self control & because most dont have self control he says "do get married & be faithful to your husban/wife alone", also it's possible paul was never married because he was married to his work as a pharisee & then continuing as the greatest Apostle in the history of the world for the cause of Christ.
