Thank you for this vid! I am getting my second paragard in two days. I had mirena & paragard in the past. Paragard is definitely better on me and my body as far as mental health.
This was great! Thank you. Also magnesium is the mineral that stop cramps. It’s what’s in chocolate lol and why we eat more of it during our periods (don’t ask me why they don’t mention that on the label. Also I worked in th supplement industry). If I do decide to do this procedure I would load up on magnesium the weeks before the procedure and have magnesium gel on hand. Not medical advice do your own research ;)
My mona lisa mini hasnt expelled like skyla did for me. Nulliparous or nulligravid people have on average smaller cavities and its in some of the research by other companies outside the usa. I am glad to see the paragard works for some.
Did you feel like your gyno tried to talk you out of the copper IUD? I'm about to get an IUD next week and I was leaning towards the copper one but i really feel like my doctor is trying to push the mirena, like I was so sure and now I'm like scared lol
I felt this way too! This happened about two weeks ago and I felt that my doctor was trying to push me towards the hormonal IUD. I’ve learned that you are your best advocate so I listened to him, shook my head and very bluntly (and politely) said “I would still like to get the non hormonal option.” I was firm and didn’t give any chance for another response other than “ok.” In other times I would have contemplated and probably even given in but considering that I’m the one that will be dealing with the effects, it’s not worth giving in. I know how hard and confrontational it can be but I’m wishing you the best for when you go into your gyno.
No mine was ready to do it when I went in to learn about them but gave me a week to think about which I wanted and she just told me to call back once I know. I’m sorry you have all experienced this but do what is best for you and they can’t not do what you are asking for
I went to get mine replaced but wasn't sure if I wanted it removed and my doctor was also trying to push the hormonal coil on me too... We looked at the pros and cons of both online and there were too many biological changes that can happen from the hormonal one (headaches, ache, breast changes) and I didn't like the idea of my periods stopping altogether. I ended up having the copper coil replaced but got the 5 year one. Turned out I had a 10 year one in which she said might be why my periods were so heavy... I'm thinking about just having it taken out but I want to see what my next period is like and it's lighted and more manageable. I would say ignore your doctor, so you research and decide what's best for you
I’ve had mirena before and the insertion process and removal was difficult for me😢 I really wanna keep my period this time so I can feel a sense of comfort knowing my cycle is still regular, but I heard about metal coming off Paraguards so I’m nervous
Did you experience any weight gain with the copper iud? I hear some different stories about the copper iud and weight gain. Since I am a model I am bit scared the copper iud will also make me gain weight, I had hormonal stuff in the past and my body didn’t like it that is why I am considering this option ❤
They’ve become much more regular! My day 2-3 is heavy but nothing too crazy. My cramps are occasionally chill, sometimes suck really bad, but are mostly “normal” for me and I can get on with my day
Does it help with stopping periods? That's what I want a contraception for but I can't take tablets and worry it'll have long term effects on my fertility.
The copper iud is non-hormonal so I have my periods regularly. There are 2 hormonal IUDs which can lighten your periods or make them stop while having it in

For some people may be important the fact, that IUDs can negatively affect embryos implantation.

My gyno did the same. Why do we think they push for the hormonal? I’ve heard this from several girls too.

My doctor also pushed me towards the hormonal one, STRONGLY. There must be some financial incentive for them to be doing so.

No! I was a bit bloated after since my body got a bit inflamed but it went down quickly and I never gained weight because of the IUD
Thank you!
If you don’t mind, how old were you when you got the IUD?
Are your periods still heavier than they were before your IUD? Is the cramping back to pre-IUD levels? Thanks ♥️

Did you have any pelvic pain like sharp pain I just got it 2 days ago.
I don’t remember exactly since it’s been so long now but I remember having the worst cramps imaginable like someone was stabbing me
@@LoWithoutLimitsfor how many days after insertion?
