    You did some walking there. A blustery day but well worth it for the views alone. See the trig stone was obscured by a pile of rocks, I'm surprised you spotted it. You should wear a jacket with your TH-cam page on it, it will save your friend accosting people😄 Two uploads in a week, you're spoiling us Anthony. Cheers for this and happy rambling.

      Hi Kelly. That’s a great idea. I shall mention it to Glenn! It was certainly a bit blustery, but thankfully the winds weren’t too bad when we climbed the Trinnacle. Not sure id have risked it otherwise as I’m not keen on heights at the best of times. Thanks very much for watching 🙂

    Climbing up a waterfall, beautiful! Glenn should totally get a camera 📷 good looking bit of scrabling 🪨

    Hi Anthony and Glenn, superb route and views, will need to check this out myself, will need to go in week mind, now Anthony why did it take so long for you to show us this LOL, great scramble next to the waterfall, anyways very enjoyable and stay cool cheers nigel

      Thanks for watching Nigel. It’s definitely one for midweek so you don’t hit the crowds. I think it mandatory to go with someone on that walk so they can take your photo on the Trinnacle 😆

    I’ve somehow missed this when it was released and only just watched it now.
    Cracking route mate. Very brave of you to climb on The Trinnacle too. Looks a bit hairy up there. Keep up the great work. 👍😊

      Thanks Rob. I’m not a massive fan of exposed heights, but the Trinnacle felt safe enough. I’m glad I climbed up in the morning before the strong winds arrived!

    Lovely film, Anthony. Being born and bred in Tameside I've visited the Dovestones area many times. It does get very busy especially at weekends, such is it's accessibility. The 'Edges' is one of my favourite routes. As already mentioned in other comments, the obelisk is known locally as 'Pots n pans'...don't ask me why!!

    • @AnthonyJohnson1
      @AnthonyJohnson1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s certainly a lovely area Maurice. I really enjoyed this walk and I’m glad I did it midweek. I must make another visit to check out Pots n pans as I’m intrigued now. Thanks very much for watching

    Hi Anthony, I hope your keeping well. What a fab hike, varied terrain with some great features along the way. 😎 A great video. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of hikes planned for the summer. Enjoy! 😀

      Hi Rachel. Hope you’re keeping well and continuing to ramble! Yes, i’m out as much as I can be these days. Having said that, I’m drawing the line at being out in these 40 degree temperatures. Sitting in the garden is as much as I can muster today 😆

      Very true Dave. The cap is a must have accessory when one has very little hair 😆. It sure was a fab walk. Really worth the drive over there despite the super expensive petrol costs these days!

    What an awesome walk Anthony, glad you got to the Trinnacle. That's a spot I've yet to visit myself. It is that bit further away I guess, but one day definitely 🙂 I think that obelisk in the distance you saw is the monument at the Pots and Pans as they are called near Uppermill, up to where I did actually do a short walk some years ago. Amazing views all along this walk, as you were saying. Glad you got a new subscriber on the way too 😃All the best 👍

      Hi Patrick. It is a bit of a trek in the car unfortunately, but well worth a visit. The climb up Birchen Clough was the highlight for me. Thanks for the heads up about the Pots and Pans. I’ll go back and check that out sometime. Hope you’re ok and back out with the camera soon 🙂

    Good one Anthony. Dovestones is quite local for me and I've done the 'edges' many times. In fact, Alphin Pike (and nearby Alderman's Hill) was the name of one of our wedding tables! You briefly touched upon it, but the walk to Black Hill via Chew Res' and Laddow Rocks is a gem, returning via the mightily impressive Holme Clough.

    • @AnthonyJohnson1
      @AnthonyJohnson1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris. Must be fab to have this place close by. I really enjoyed this walk as it had a bit of everything. I remember trying to walk from Laddow Rocks over to the Dovestones area via Chew reservoir a couple of years ago but I gave up and turned back as the path was so boggy despite it being the height of summer. Having said that, I was wearing trail runners so would definitely pop the boots on for that one if I did it again. We ought to meet up for a day walk here sometime and you can show me around some of the best places to go 👍

    Lovely walk, I did exactly the same last week. I've been ticking off the Ethels list so I did a small detour to the top of Ashway Moss. Birchen Clough is great fun! The 'obelisk' over the way is the war memorial at Pots And Pans on Alderman's Hill. Another lovely walk all round there 👍
    Keep up the great work!

    Hi Anthony. Cracking area of the Peak District👍 Mind you, I definitely wasn't spoilt for views last time I was up there! Could barely see my hand in front of my face 😂 I've not been up the Trinnacle end for ages...must put that right soon👍

      @AnthonyJohnson1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh dear! I thought we were going to time it bad with the weather. It was the only cloudy day we’ve had in weeks but thankfully the views were still there. You’ve definitely got an excuse to go back and get your photo taken on top of the Trinnacle 🙂

    That was a really nice walk. And quite therapeutic to see some cloud and wind as the temperatures down here in the south get ridiculous. I'd be up on the peaks if I could!

      Thanks for watching Catherine. The weather that day was a brief respite from the heat. I filmed it on Friday so it was the only cool day we’ve had this week. Probably a good thing as that climb would have been tough in today’s temperatures

    What we'd all give for doem of that wind and freshness atm right guys!? Amzing views along the way, and will done on conquering the Trinacle. Absolutely fantastic 👏 it does look like a fab walk, added to the list if ever we make it to the Peak District ☕️👍❤️⛰️

      Hello Ceri and Kat and many thanks for watching 🙂. I really enjoyed this walk as you could probably tell. Also pleased I made it on to the Trinnacle as I’m not the biggest fan of being close to the edge of a big drop! I think Glenn is enjoying appearing on TH-cam videos so I shall have to encourage him to give it a go himself! Hope you manage to get to the Peaks soon and this should definitely be on your list. I think you’d really enjoy this one. Have a great week guys 🙂👍❤️
