What kind of jobs do people have, that they can afford to buy a house like this, which appears to be in pretty good condition, and tear it down, to replace it with a much larger house? I, for one, would have been quite happy living in a house like this.
As far as I know, the only reason the house was taken down was to replace it with a much larger modern house. The entire neighborhood is gradually being replaced with large houses.
The water is for general dust control. Asbestos abatement would take place before the excavator was used, and a house like this probably did not contain asbestos. The most likely toxic material would be lead paint, which was in common use when the house was built in 1961.
I really wish these demo videos would show the site after demolition. I'm trying to decide if it's worth having an old rickety farmhouse on my property torn down or burned down.
Usually they go straight from hauling away the rubble to excavating for the foundation of a new building, so there is not much to see other than a hole in the ground of a lot that has been cleared and grubbed.

Great Video... It is nice to have a little demo to go with the ads...
Great demo video but still waste of a perfectly good house I say to the owner
I love these videos
So sad to see a beautiful old home destroyed.
Cool!
Typical teardown for a McMansion in Montgomery county MD.
LOL poor the toilet 😂
Love the video! Shows a demolition done the right way! Was there anything wrong with the house (do you know?)?

It’s a shame this house was destroyed. Unless it was full of asbestos, what was the reason to trash it ? Many would love living there. Pity.
Is the water spraying for asbestos?
