- In his first race since undergoing surgery, pro ultrarunner Hayden Hawks booked his Golden Ticket for WSER by winning the Black Canyon 100k in a course-record time.
It's been a long road to recovery from a knee injury that forced him to DNF at the 2023 Western States 100-mile ultra.
The 2022 WSER runner-up shares his brutally honest account of the highs and lows of a challenging 12 months...
Love hearing what it's like for a pro athlete to navigate a serious injury and getting his mind back into the game. Hope he crushes it at WS.
