Ohio state was not trying to do a fake punt, Rutgers was just being stupid by leaving the field wide open so the punter took it.
So, Day doesn't know how to coach his players about the risks of the punter running when totally unnecessary?

Rutgers made it interesting for about 5 minutes. Then Miyan Williams and the Buckeyes just took control and ran away with it!!
Rutgers is a joke, I used to live in NJ and nobody cares about Rutgers. Even the NY Mets are more popular and they are a second most popular team in NYC.

Good thing I am not the coach. After that sideline late hit BS, I would have cranked up the passing game for as many more TD's as I had time for. It should not matter if the punter took off for a first down, he recognised a weakness and took advantage of it. OSU was easy on them by running so much not to run up the score. Theycould have beat them much worse.
Rutgers 2 scores were because the offense screwed up INT and Fumble. Defense played solid today.

Switched his number to his high school number and is still getting toasted he needs to step it up because you notice how when teams pass it Burke is always in the area everyone else is locking up it him

Ohio state is so loaded offensively they got so many guys it's unbelievable. Ohio state's defense good special teams good overall their teams great I think Ohio State their team right now is made of a championship caliber team. If Ohio State doesn't beat themselves I don't think anybody will beat them this year I know they'll go undefeated this year the rest is up to them the playoffs and the Big ten championships are in their grasp.

This offense is absolutely stacked. The O-line, the RB's, the recieving corps, the QB... all top tier talent. Their defense is rather mediocre though... good enough to stop teams like this, but I don't know how well they'd do against other great Offenses... they weren't too particularly good last year.
@@justinklinck6575 defense is not mediocre at all. Really good defense compared to anything Ohio State has had recently. A top 15 defense isn't too bad.

Nothing against Stroud but its easy to be a top qb when your receivers are virtually open every play. His offensive scheme and receiver talent is undeniably the best in college football.

What’s crazy for this OSU offense is that likely every starter on this team will be on an NFL roster in the next 2 years and most drafted. You can’t stop it, you can only hope to slow it down.

I say it every week. This team is playing fast, angry and aggressive. They have a real edge to them. That is a reflection of the head coach who seems to have a pissed off mentality to him this year. You LOVE to see it. I’d go through a brick wall for Coach Day! Go Bucks

The worst part is that people think that we didn’t play that good, that the offense didn’t look as smooth, but in reality Rutgers was just playing dirty all day long. The penalty yards don’t show it because we were already in the 1 when they get holding and pass interference time and again but man they would not just play the sport…. Our receivers kept beating them and they would just pull on them in any way possible instead of accepting defeat. I really wish Ryan day would have shoved it down there throats after the fake punt (which was obviously the punters call on the field and not planned…) but why was schiano crying about it? They did an onside kick

Ebuka is one hell of a great player but he is NOT doing a good job of returning punts. Recall that vs ND he let two punts sail over his head and so got OSU pinned in deep.

I'm saying... in those situations where they misjudged and have to run for it, attempting to catch it at some weird angle - just break off of it and let it land.
OSU has some work to do. You can make the sort of mistakes they made against Rutgers and still blow them out. OSU's goals are not limited to beating the likes of Rutgers - that used to be Michigan's goal. OSU shoots for championships. You can't make the number of mistakes OSU made and win against the likes of Bama or Georgia.

The way the two freshman played last week and has played when they came in late it’s only a matter of time before Burke either steps it up or gets replaced. Hate to say it because he was good last year and gave up no TD, this year he has given up 3 and we have only played 5 games.

Schiano owes his coaching resurrection to Ohio State. He tried to use sneaky trick plays before as thanks to gain an advantage and did it again in this game with his theatrics (e.g. the onside kick). Then when payback comes, he jaws like a sissy. It was his own fault that the fake was even possible by overloading the box and trying to get a block when the game was lost. If you behave like a bum you have to be man enough to suck up the punishment.
