I'll tell you what Penn State's deal is... they have NO RUN GAME. Having no run game puts enormous pressure on the QB and your defense. The defense played their hearts out (as they have all season). If Penn State had a run game, they would've beaten Ohio State, and be undefeated. Another thing weighing on the team are the rumors about Franklin leaving. He won't just come out and say one way or the other, so who knows where the players' head are? None of that matters, because Alabama is gonna win the championship for the 20th or 30th time, so when the season is over, they'll be the only team with a smile on their faces.
They had Ohio State the next week so of course they had to choke spectacularly and then show up to play the next week. Not that this should have been close anyway. Reminder that holding a lead for the majority of the game over the 2nd most talented team in the B1G is less impressive than needing a historic comeback victory against an overrated Michigan team!
Buckeyes have so much talent on offense and an incredibly gifted D Line, but where we struggle the most in that secondary.. our pass defense is trash, we give up too many chunk plays even when we get pressure the DBs rarely make a play on the ball, always out of position
I never said the secondary was trash personnel wise, the PASS DEFENSE as a whole is trash, the scheme, the coverages are trash.. you can’t blame 25 and 30 completions to WRs on linebackers
At this point they need to change the name of the "targeting" rule to "Buckeye down". I completely agree with the spirit of the rule, but the way it's currently written you get situations like in this game where a clumsy QB has no idea where he's going with the football and starts bobbing his head up and down, effectively making him impossible to tackle. Not every hit to the head is an intentional act or a bad tackling form. This QB basically dropped to slide WHILE being tackled and got the call. They need to change the way it's called. Reward good play, not incompetent running.
@Jason Baer that and idk about his backup if he does run and take a bad hit. It's the same down at Bama with Bryce Young. (Auburn fan, not a Bana fan. Just drawing a comparison) that said, come MSU/playoffs, OSU will definitely widen the scope of the playbook for him to show out. They'll have to in my opinion
The refs were on Penn State's side all game. Look at their first touchdown. #79 is further upfield than the tight end. That should've been ineligible receiver flag right there. Their O line would literally tackle our players.
This was a hell of a game between 2 top 10 football teams. The shear talent on the field is ridiculous. 4 of the top 6 receivers in the nation and nfl guys everywhere.
@@davehanson455 no they wouldn’t. I actually think UGA and PSU are quite similar teams. Really good defenses (except wtf happened against Illinois last week) and an okay offense that can win games if the defense does its job well. OSU, on the other hand, has an explosive offense. This game will just show them how they need to adjust to big games. And the defense has scored 6 times this year. The gap between OSU and UGA is not like everyone thinks it is.
Explain to me how the hit at 3:30 isn't targeting but the hit that Chambers does is... these rules are so bogus and never enforced fairly. The only time a player needs to be ejected is when the hit was clearly intended and malicious. Otherwise tack on the 15 yards and let the guys play!
Great call out. Absolutely should have been targeting. The refs at this game were some of the worst. I was at the game in C deck and even I could see some of the missed holding calls. Unreal.
The miscues between stroud and the wide receivers have me worried. Hard to say who’s to blame, but I’m betting it’s stroud since he’s not as experienced as olave and Wilson. Hard to say.
OSU played very poorly offensively and still pulled out the dub so im not worried. we’re gonna cruise into a nice big10 championship game again this year.
Poorly offensively? Not really bro but out defense especially our CBs and safety are ducking atrocious I didn’t see one good play from them the whole night it looks like they want to give these guys room to catch and then they all close in on him and it takes 4 guys to make a tackle we will get shit on by any good team and yea that’s it if we make the playoffs this year I’ll be surprised
@@ronaldbargain4925 sevyn banks is horrible and so is Shaw. Shaw literally is never on time at any player always late for cleanup gang tackle while sevyn has no awareness whatsoever laying 10 yards off on 3rd and 5s. They need to both be off defense.
Penn State has some great defensive backs . They run down receivers and runners on their way to what would be touchdowns . In the nfl these days these db's just give up, slow down . not earning their salaries !
Enjoyed being in C’bus tonight for the 21 Pilots concert where Tyler, the band and the crowd singlehandedly got 6 of the Buckeyes points. Also, enjoy knowing all the Penn State people I saw in town are going home sad.
No matter what you think the score will be, you should never rule out Penn State playing their best vs Ohio State. Just like Michigan State views Michigan as that game they have to win. Penn State views Ohio State the same way. Before expansion this was the closest team geographically in the B1G to Penn State, and there really isn't a team near their level in their own state, just like Ohio State.
So many missed holding calls keep Penn state in the game. Not taking away how hard they played but it was clear that lady zebra was not a fan of the buckeyes 🤔😳
@@beejusfingus it was pretty bad. I was at the game and what you cant see on tv is how bad Penn state were holding the recievers every play. Olave was screaming at the refs every other play which he never does. There was 3 or 4 pass options where they just pushed olave and smith njigba down to stop the pass. It was a decent game plan though. They were willing to take the penalties to stop the deep pass. They did start to call them in the second half which is when things broke open.
Ohio state can destroy bad teams but forget Penn state 3 loss already. Penn state played Ohio state tough. I don't see Ohio state other than Oregon lose another game. Ohio state is a good team. I think Ohio state can beat any team. Ohio state may not destroy Alabama or even Georgia. In the end I think Ohio state would win. Winning is everything
PSU only had 2 loss before this game. Iowa and Illinois. Iowa, the QB got knocked out for the second half and Illinois got lucky lol Some of ya'll also forget how young this OSU team is.
@@Nightfighter82 Youth is not an excuse for the offense being average against quality opponents. Stroud is familiar with the playbook, though he needs to throw to the WRs in practice more clearly. They do nit always have good communication. The missed throw to Olave was awful because he was pretty much wide open.
Love your videos, only problem I already know who won by looking at the thumbnail + you always put the winning team first in the title even though they play at home. If you can change that it would be fantastic.
Did they change the rules for defensive holding. Penn St in the 4th quarter held around the 5 yard line and ball was moved half the distance but referee said second down. I thought defensive holding resulted in an automatic first down.
Go Buckeyes! The Buckeye haters are in action right now lol people like to call osu “overrated “ because we didn’t blow a team out shows how respected the Buckeyes really are lol
@@molonlabe9602 actually it’s 2 possessions because the other team still posses the ball. Also the odds of a safety in that situation are next to nothing. It’s a 2 possession win. Penn state could not tie the game in the 1 possession they had.
As a Buckeye fan, this team isn't currently a play-off team. They couldn't open a hole on the offensive line for runs (many runs from within the 5 yard line didn't get into the end zone) and the defensive line can't pressure a QB enough with just 4 rushers. We practically forgot about our tight ends this game. Our only saving grace is that they are protecting Stroud pretty well. As long as they continue to do that, it might be enough to win the B1G but not a play-off game. A general comment: there's too much ball grabbing going on in college football. I consider it a thug play, not in the spirit of the game and the NCAA should outlaw it.
Don't be a fairweather fan. This game plan felt too conservative. It kept us from turning over the ball, and PSU did get a free what 40 yds in penalties on one drive? There was that underthrown TD pass. In the second half, it looked like OSU had found a rhythm. It's a slow grindy safe type of football that wins games against inferior opponents but it's boring. Ryan Day played around the upset but it involved giving up yards on defense to prevent bigger plays and fast scoring drives. A lot of people call it Tressel Ball. Look him up if you're curious. This is a playoff caliber team and if you can't see that in the way they still won this game despite not being at their best. This is a young team too... have faith in CJ. He will get less nervous as time goes on. Be glad we won. Don't doubt this team
Nothing that I said was inaccurate, I back the Buckeyes 100% but I know what I saw on the field today and my comment was born of what happened on the field today against a quality team, not from my feelings about the team. Today, they're not a play-off team. I have high hopes that our young team, like every other Buckeye fan, that they will continue to develop and improve through the toughest part of the schedule and peak at the right time.
Difference between UGAs and OSUs defense is UGA doesn't allow teams in the red zone (14 times) and if they do, they have only given up 4 tds all year. 8 FGs. That's a lot stingier than OSU, despite the 3 more sacks than UGA. It also may be because there are better offensive lines in the SEC (opinion and debatable). UGA vs winner of OSU/MSU game is my prediction. Assuming alabama doesn't win out
Since the two kicks that ended the game were both squib-like, I am inclined to think there may have been a swirling wind of some type. The last kick, for the PSU kicker, went off to the left. The last kick for the OSU player went off to his right. Being on opposite sides of the field means the direction of both squib vectors was the same.
there was a team of lions from nittany.... who would take touchdowns if they could get'ny... though the referees were loathsome... and the cheerleaders wholesome... the loss here will send them to the ministry
Penn state play calling did not do the qb any favors, the plays should have been set to keep the flow going, too many changes as the team was lined up to run a play. the coaching lost this game not the players
@Jason Baer they gave that up against a horrible offense. Their problem is the D is not consistent. They're doing better than games 1 and 2 but NOT silver bullets yet. Day had to pull combs from play calling last night. He's gone and a good thing he is!
Penn state played better just made to many mistakes and turnovers but I’m sure that Ohio state will win out and play Minnesota in the big ten championship but watch out for Michigan state.
I don't know if I should be happy that OSU has struggled against an inferior team, or afraid that PSU has got its shit together. Coming from a Sparty fan.

Every year they give ohio state a run for their money too. I don’t understand
Buckeyes have so much talent on offense and an incredibly gifted D Line, but where we struggle the most in that secondary.. our pass defense is trash, we give up too many chunk plays even when we get pressure the DBs rarely make a play on the ball, always out of position
LB Are always out of position. Way Way too many missed tackles by back end
DBs are actually very good. LB is the weak link of the D.
You must not watch, the secondary has been good, it’s our line backers.
Give Big Man 3 helmet stickers for that. Awarness, speed and Defensive TD
The buckeye escaped tonight, but a win is a win and I'll take it.
Overrated, overrated!
@@mikjongsoo1798 cry
whar do you mean "youll take it"? are you going to reject it?
A win is a win but regrettably our buckeyes are definitely over rated. Lots of awesome players but as far as a team, they have a lot of work to do.
Escaped? Sorry my guy that's pure skill.
I can't believe Ohio State's QB is only a freshman.
They're looking really good for the next few years.
He reminds me of JT Barrett to mush. And he won't run the ball for what ever reason.
Let’s hope he stays healthy. 🙏
As long as they all decide to stay and work for the next few years as a team! I hope they do!
He was the backup last year. Covid year gave everyone a mulligan so he's technically still a freshman.
0:56 crowd goes to full roar for over 10 seconds is amazing.
Penn state Ohio state is always a classic
The refs were on Penn State's side all game. Look at their first touchdown. #79 is further upfield than the tight end. That should've been ineligible receiver flag right there. Their O line would literally tackle our players.
The other TD to the tight end by PSU showed a tackle right next to the TE when he caught the ball!
My brother he’s not blocking nobody😂
Top 2 takeaways:
Penn State defense is elite.
Penn State offense got away with A LOT of holding. Holy shit.
This was a hell of a game between 2 top 10 football teams. The shear talent on the field is ridiculous. 4 of the top 6 receivers in the nation and nfl guys everywhere.
Na . Georgia would smoke them both
@@davehanson455 I guess we will see Dave. Georgia is really good and I never said that either team was better than them.Ohio state probably is though
@@altspencer2264 you still have time to delete this 😭
Penn state scheme reminds me of Oregon’s but not as good
Explain to me how the hit at 3:30 isn't targeting but the hit that Chambers does is... these rules are so bogus and never enforced fairly.
Unreal.
Henderson will be the next great back in Ohio state
The Buckeyes have the best QB and RB in college football, and the best freshmen!
The miscues between stroud and the wide receivers have me worried. Hard to say who’s to blame, but I’m betting it’s stroud since he’s not as experienced as olave and Wilson. Hard to say.
@Live from the boot I can't wait to see K9 run over around and through the Buckeyes
This could not be further from the truth lmao
@Live from the boot I admit Walker is probably better than Henderson… for now, but to say MSU will slaughter OSU is downright delusional.
@Live from the boot MSU gave up 30 to 1 dimensional offense of michigan. Ohio State will drop 40 plus.
@@ronaldbargain4925 our offense played bad.
@@ronaldbargain4925 sevyn banks is horrible and so is Shaw. Shaw literally is never on time at any player always late for cleanup gang tackle while sevyn has no awareness whatsoever laying 10 yards off on 3rd and 5s. They need to both be off defense.
6:28 Fat Man TD, video highlight! Go Buckeyes!
Penn State has some great defensive backs . They run down receivers and runners on their way to what would be touchdowns . In the nfl these days these db's just give up, slow down . not earning their salaries !
That first fumble call was bullshit my mans momentum had been stopped
Your life will turn into eternal bliss
Enjoyed being in C’bus tonight for the 21 Pilots concert where Tyler, the band and the crowd singlehandedly got 6 of the Buckeyes points.
Also, enjoy knowing all the Penn State people I saw in town are going home sad.
Your life will turn into eternal bliss
I enjoy being at home knowing neither of those teams will win the championship
I-/
No matter what you think the score will be, you should never rule out Penn State playing their best vs Ohio State. Just like Michigan State views Michigan as that game they have to win. Penn State views Ohio State the same way. Before expansion this was the closest team geographically in the B1G to Penn State, and there really isn't a team near their level in their own state, just like Ohio State.
I was at this game . One of the most electric games i’ve ever seen
So many missed holding calls keep Penn state in the game. Not taking away how hard they played but it was clear that lady zebra was not a fan of the buckeyes 🤔😳
I knew we were gonna have problems as soon as I saw her. It’s as bad as a female announcer
@@matthewboylez34 right
there's no such thing as a missed holding call, there's holding on every fucking play in football its just whether its obvious enough to get called
It's hard to pull off a good solid win when you're playing against 12
And being held every other play
I was at this game it was so hype!!
None can stop Ohio State❤️
Except Michigan and Oregon

Well, its an idea. I wasn't a fan of what they did tonight. Looked like they were copying the whiteout…
Gotta love those big man TDs especially when they are more than 20 yards away.
Ohio state isn’t a top 5 team imo

usc fan here, no dog in this fight. some of these targeting calls are fcking ridiculous. i mean across college football
Damn, that offense looks great..im an MSU fan too, can't wait to see them play!
Great reel as always Wheels
Them Penn DB's drank some zoom zoom juice before the game.
Again I have to say I'm not sold on Franklin going to LSU or USC. Saban dominated at LSU which is why he landed in the NFL and ended up at Alabama.
Same, they are close in terms of talent. If they upgrade at qb and get an oline, they can compete with osu
1:01 check out that little official who comes running in from out of nowhere
Crazy. Penn State is still ranked in the top 25.
Pen state d was great.but this will help Ohio State ruff up when they play Michigan and Michigan State later on
Love your videos, only problem I already know who won by looking at the thumbnail + you always put the winning team first in the title even though they play at home. If you can change that it would be fantastic.
Talk about spoilers. I hadn't noticed that, but now that you let the cat out of the bag, you just killed the suspense for a lot of us. Sigh.
now you just spoiled it lol
It's pretty obvious tho I mean when he post it, it will show easily I knew that for about one year.
He doesn't put the winning team first in the title
Did they change the rules for defensive holding. Penn St in the 4th quarter held around the 5 yard line and ball was moved half the distance but referee said second down. I thought defensive holding resulted in an automatic first down.
Go Buckeyes! The Buckeye haters are in action right now lol people like to call osu “overrated “ because we didn’t blow a team out shows how respected the Buckeyes really are lol
Penn State games have always been rough.
I’ve never seen a team shoot themselves in the foot the way Penn State and Michigan does lol
Ohio state tried to give this game away and still won by 2 possessions
They won by a 2 score margin. A two possession lead is 13 points. safety + TD + 2 PAT + safety = 12 points in 1 possession.
Man you clearly haven’t been a buckeye fan for long…or you just aren’t very educated
Ohio State has more sacks on the year than Georgia. Of course they have to be held more often than other teams!
Assuming alabama doesn't win out
5:36 You got to love Saturday nights in Columbus I need to move on from the Carrier Dome lol one day
Since the two kicks that ended the game were both squib-like, I am inclined to think there may have been a swirling wind of some type. The last kick, for the PSU kicker, went off to the left. The last kick for the OSU player went off to his right. Being on opposite sides of the field means the direction of both squib vectors was the same.
It’s tough listening to homer calls on national games.

I hate analysts. Every year whenever penn state and ohio state play everyone says ohio state is gonna stomp penn state. If you look at the last 5/6 matchups penn state has always played ohio state close. It just annoys me how everyone says its gonna be a blowout every year. Like today on college gameday Desmond howard said "Oh it's not even gonna be a game at halftime" like stfu. Do research that's your job.
