    I think comparison is another mistake lots of people (including myself) make. It’s easy look at other people and wonder why our hair doesn’t look as good as theirs rather than learning to love what we have.

      @@SwavyCurlyCourtney thank you so much for making this channel. I had waivy/curly hair as a kid. My daughter has it now but I have noticed it's getting flatter. I recently came across your channel. How do you brush your hair between washes, if as all. If not how do you suggest I brush hers as she is 6 and well, her hair gets to be a hot mess within 30 minutes of brushing.

    • @RaDazzle1
      @RaDazzle1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jennifermarques6159 Most Curly Girl Method users do not brush their hair once it is dry. Some will, but very carefully, using a brush like The Wet Brush which has very flexible, fairly wide-spaced bristles. Make sure to wash hair properly, whether you do cowashing or regular shampooing (2 washes: 1st with a normal amount of shampoo, 2nd with only enough to make lots of suds - also, only put shampoo on the scalp & rub with pads of fingers to mix the shampoo well with the sebum [natural oil in hair], rinse well both times, then use a conditioner on the mids & ends of hair, rinse) - helps to extend time between washings and create healthy hair & scalp which may help your daughter's hair not be such a "hot mess."

    I'm about 18 months in to wearing my hair wavy, I am guilty of buying a lot of products that are " holy grails" for people but were a bust for me.
    I am in the process of trying some of those products again, with other styles or techniques and am finding ways to make them work for me.
    I started using twice the amount of gel I was using and I'm getting great wash days now. Turns out, it's not the wrong product, just wasn't using enough for all my hair. ☺

    Learning so much from you! I am about 2 months in, and I have realised that I need to get my hair to feel "moisturised". I can tell this makes my hair happy and gives me a decent transition hair day. Your flash drying video helped me a lot in figuring out why some days and products help me achieve this and some don't. Will limit my product use to what gives me the best seaweed hair and some decent hold for now. (I do love Innersense.). Almost 2 years in my journey, my hair is still transitioning a little. It's really overwhelming how much info is out there! But I am learning so much every wash day. Things I did and didn't work at the start, I'm ready to try again with better understanding. I also learned that I have to do what works for me. I still need sulfates at least once a week or every 2 weeks. Silicones are not so bad for me, most "CGM approved" products where I live are too expensive or heavy for my fine hair, so I try to work with what I have. Right now using tecnhiques and products for wavy hair has been helping my 3a hair. Hoping to get a hair cut soon and focus on strengthening my hair this coming year 💖💖💖

    AG recoil curl activator its a cream. I only need a small amount on soaking wet curl. Also I use verb leave in conditioner spray. The AG recoil is moisturizing enough so I alternate. I dont need the verb leave in when I use the recoil. Super shiny frizz free curls. Love both of these products.

    A journey is what we are all on, Courtney I stumbled on this site now with a t-shirt on my head I picked up in a thrift store, just got the blow dryer today so started late in the day, yet did yesterday and well nothing to write home about, so trying again today being I got the dryer and don't have to jump up and stand by the heater when it kicks on. It is going to be interesting being I am going cold turkey and going to be a silver sister at some point so by then better hair. Gosh with kids the home and all else then ever think of doing that patron thing where people join being you hit the 100k mark did your get that utube shiny thing. ;) thanks for the help I sure needed it. I made the mistake of over moisturizing my hair a month, or so, ago. I hear so much about wavy hair being dry, and I have a lot of frizz, that i went all out and bought a pile of moisturizing products. Apparently my hair doesnt need that much. Lesson learned & now some of my friends have some great moisturizing products courtesy of my experiments, lol. This whole experience is definitely a learning process. 😂

    I have just started with the CG method, and this definitely helps in deciding how much and what products to invest in... I was soooo confused on my type if hair- high or low porosity, moisturize or protein, deep condition no deep condition, leave in conditioner avoid leave in... Gosh😞! I think will just take it easy and just start...

  • @bonnieanderson429

    So I am two weeks into this process and have bought ALL the products ☺️. But I am only using one set right now to give each product a fair chance. Also, I have already decided I am not following CGM to the T. I am listening to my hair needs with an end goal of my hair becoming healthy! My hair is naturally wavy and I love it. So for now, I am using no sulfate, damaging alcohol and silicone. Doing the whole squish to condish, plop with a t shirt and difussing. This is enough and should improve the overall condition of my hair. I may add more or less later, but for now this is good.

    • @SwavyCurlyCourtney
      @SwavyCurlyCourtney  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are definitely on the right track! I agree with using one set of products to start. At least for a month. Then you can add or switch out one product to see how you hair does. You can focus right now on what your hair likes technique wise and healing!

    Helloooo,
    Love your videos your very knowledgeable...
    I struggle with 1 step EVERY time.... I cannot get a brush or even my fingers through my hair when it's wet.
    I've tried lots of different shampoos and conditioners, hair masks, beep conditioning treatments to try and overcome this but my hair gets so tangled when wet...
    I brush my hair before I shower, so no knots, then as soon as it's washed, I try to be so careful not to move my hair too much, just shampoo the roots carefully (I mean it's instantly knotty before the shampoo comes out anyway) it goes like a straw birds nest.
    Pleeeease help, I cannot get over this HUGE hurdle and enjoy styling my hair without being able to brush my hair when it's wet, and noone else seems to have this issue???
    Any advice please?
