According to "Balinese Music" by Michael Tenzer, Gamelan Jegog is a 4-note gamelan made from gigantic stalks of bamboo whereas Gamelan Joged Bumbung is a slendro-tuned (5 note system) bamboo ensemble that plays instrumental music and accompanies the Jegog dance.
