    I never get to see this dance!! Will come again to Bali, and this time, will go and watch this dance. But it hurts me to read hatred posts about Malaysia. Malaysia do have cultures. Next time if you go to Malaysia, dont go to Penisular, go to Sabah or Sarawak near Kalimantan. I am from Sarawak and we do have unique cultures. Sarawak - Land of Head hunters. yeah! I Heart Bali!!! Thk you Bapa Suekorno, our tour guide and thx to Perama Tour!

    Hi, Yendorphine.
    Thanks..
    I LOVE BALI SO MUCCHH

    Oh no....you were wrong, we never promote Tari Pendet in Malaysia. It was National Geographic faulty to put a picture of a balinese dancer in Malaysia truly asia montage. Stop spreading hatred,. I love Bali...will visit Bali again...

    SO what if the template is from Indian culture, yes there are similarities, BUT the nuances and development from South Indian culture has resulted in a unique dance form in its own right in Bali. It is unique to Bali and you will not find it in India only the basic form can one see similarity.

    Malaysian are trying to seek self identity. However, they should not claim other ethnic, arts, dances, cultures as theirs. It is a pity. The only member of ASEAN countries that lack of unique culture is Malaysia. This could be influenced by centuries of British rules and loyalty of Malaysian to their former masters. Therefore, their own unique traditional culture is not developed and almost in the state of non existence. Anyway, thanks for uploading this magnificent dance and heavenly music.

    One can say Malays have copied Arab culture, they have also copied Indian culture yet to say these things is short sighted. Humans have taken elements from one place to another and they have developed their own adaptations. It is not a copy, it is not the same, but there are similarities.

    I saw that you impliedly said so. Arabs came to Sumatra to trade and passed the message of Islam through a peaceful ways to us. If you think that there is a force conversion of religion in Java then your finger is pointing to us as the people who is the first among any other people in modern Indonesia to embrace Islam. In fact, Arabs have never forced anyone in Java to convert into Islam since the only reason they're there is to trade. Can you name a resources that can back up your statement?

  • @marjinkiri
    @marjinkiri 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a Palembang Malay and we do have culture. Just to let you know that Islam is united within our culture as yours in Hinduism. If you think that we are still a part of this filthy nation please stop talking bad about Malay. Otherwise, may be we should give up Indonesia and build our own country. Our elders were too fascinated with the concept of Nusantara initiated by Soekarno. At the end we got all our resources stolen and end up as Javanese fesses.

    I don't think this is Pendet dance... the hair-do is tend to Oleg dance without the tale... and Pendet doesn't have wings... I think personally this is a new creation dance which maybe derived from pendet (and maybe Sekarjagat and little bit Oleg influence)... I am a Balinese dance lover... :)

    Malays are not only from Sumatra. We are spread throughout Sumatera, Bangka-Belitong, Riau Islands, Malaysia Peninsular and Temasek. Learn some geography before you post. And it is not Malay who drove you out from Java. It is merely because of your conflict among Javanese. Believe me, we have no interest on your land. We already have land full with oil, coal, and tin......
