But this particular version of legong was created recently in 2005, by Pak Nyoman Cerita, a highly accomplished choreographer and composer in Bali, for Pak Nyoman Wenten's (Burat Wangi's longtime director at CalArts) group in his home village of Sading.

Many ancient Indonesian statesman and civilians also studied Hinduism and Buddhism in India then teach back in their place of origins. In fact Jayavarman II (770-850) the founder of Khmer Empire had resided for some time in Java during the reign of Sailendras, hence the concept of Devaraja or God King was ostensibly imported from Java. At that time, Sailendras allegedly ruled over Java, Sumatra, the Malay Peninsula and parts of Cambodia.

nah....i dont believe you....this is an Indonesian Bali Dance....and this is a Hindu type of dance and i suppose that cambodia are Teravada Buddhist?not a Hindu...This is pure Balinese Indonesian Dance with influences of Hinduism
